I can't wait to return!! The staff was incredibly patient as I scoured all the choices with a magnifying glass. I chose three tacos and due to a restricted diet, a salad. The salad was huge, the carnitas and carne asado tacos were outstanding, the pickled carrots, jalapenos, onions and peppers were so fresh and homemade!! The salsa verde I couldn't stop asking for more!! The staff, management and servers were so on it and truly kind to us and all their, obvious, returning diners!! Nothing was remotely empty as they consistently checked back with us, and everyone else, and boy did we devour everything!! I can't wait to return to this restaurant again. 7 stars!! Thank you Dave for recommending this gem!!! Prices were incredibly reasonable as well. Authenticity and kindness at it's best!! They certainly could expand as the business was consistent and the service fast but not rushed!!! Maybe a franchise in Los Angeles!!!

When we walked in the server insisted that we sit inside instead of going out back. I wish we had gone out back to the truck, our server was super attentive but we felt a bit forced to buy a drink from them and ordering via the bistro QR code from the table was a little clunky. We were also traveling and the drink menu from Jim Dandy's didn't tickle our fancy. My husband got the Piggyback Burger with truffle fries and it was delicious! All of the flavors went well together and were plentiful. I had the pork tacos and the brussel sprouts. The brussels could've feed four people and were a bit on the very well done side. The tacos were full of meat but just okay and the chimichurri was nothing to write home about. The location was clean and quiet. Loads of seating inside and had some fun decor touches. Maybe we'll head to the other location next time we are in the area.

The sauce was good though, spicy and smooth, with crusty bread. For the main it was fish and chips. I liked the unique potato chip coating, but the fish inside was small, so mostly coating. Service was prompt at while sitting solo at the bar. I ordered a drink, another with dinner, and before I could order another, I was given the check. I did not like the assumption that I was done. I didn't bother to state otherwise because a good service relies upon the customer. I would consider going back with a group and ordering land protein vs sea.

While I have not been to this main location, I would like to comment on the experience I had at the…read moresatellite location in the Student Union Building of ISU. I am sure that my fellow reviewers are speaking truth when they are talking about the wonderful experiences they have had at the Cedar St location. However, I would argue that some serious quality control must be done at the satellite location, especially if they are to carry the name and image of an established business. To have a location ruin the reputation of your business by serving stale donuts and poorly made coffee is incredibly disappointing, especially when the reviews of the main location are so promising. The idea that the quality and experience found at the main location should extend to the satellite by the same name should be a standard belief. Most of the donuts at this store were stale before the morning rush was over, and I was served an iced vanilla latte that tasted as though rotten coffee beans had been ground into an espresso concentrate so foul it carried its own aura of bitterness. While I am sure the main location provides a quality experience worth paying for, something must be done to ensure that the satellite location has the same quality control and is able to provide the same experience.
