I am not sure why my location is showing California. I live in Atlanta. I had a tree fall in my yard last week that required immediate attention since it was also partially in my neighbors yard. I was referred to Don through my coworker who had worked with the company several times. I called on Wednesday Don came out on Friday to provide an estimate to have the fallen tree taken down, a very tall dead Oak removed and another Oak trimmed. Don arrived early, she was professional, super sweet and friendly....and the estimate was extremely reasonable (especially, since I am a one income household). The job was scheduled for Tuesday (yesterday) while I was out of town. They made the process so easy and comfortable for me and I wasn't even there. The office staff called letting me know when the crew was arriving, the crew manager provided me with pictures when the job was complete and Don (the owner) called to provide a follow-up afterwards. They did an amazing job, there was no damage to my yard or debris leftover. I cannot recommend them enough for the job and professionalism. I am at peace now knowing my home (and me) can feel safe knowing trees falling are no longer a concern when it storms. Thank you Don and Crew! read more

Very pleased with the tree work they have done. They removed $13, 000.00 worth of trees in back yard for $10,000.00. The handled all the paper work for insurance company to remove storm damage trees. Don' S Tree Service also removed the trees on the right side of my house. Other companies wanted to charge me almost $3500.00; Don's Tree Service charged me $2700.00. The also removed a tree on the left side of my house that had storm damage and that had fallen and broke a driveway. Don's Tree Service removed the trees for $2500.00; recommended a great Concrete Contractor to fix the driveway from fallen storm damage tree. That saved me alot of money. The staff is courteous, respectful, hard working and efficient. The best tree service. They do run your check as ach; so dont write a check unless you have the money in the bank. Unfortunately they have to do this because some unsavory folks will have contractors do $1,000.00 of dollars worth of work t and then cancel or put a stop payment on the check; which is highly illegal to do. I had Don's tree Service come out and remove 2 huge pine trees, I had no problem with them. They came and, did what they had to do. My neighbors tree was overlapping my property and, they trimmed that tree as well. So far the neighbor has not said anything to me about it. Plus if he does then I will send him a bill since it is his tree on my property. Clean up was the very next day and I had no problem. I told my brother about Don's Tree Service and, he hired them. While I have not had any services provided by Don's Tree Service, I do know firsthand that the owner is unreliable, untrustworthy, unprofessional, unethical, and unfriendly. My husband has done work for Don's Tree Service and he is still awaiting payment for his work. The owner's excuse: "We had to take your salary and put it towards our bills." Well, Doni, what about OUR family's bills? What I have learned about this company is that they are in it for THEM - not YOU, the client. So, do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. And, please, do not ignore the various reviews you've read about Don's Tree Service. I would've never supported my husband working for them had I read that they do not pay their employees; this is not an isolated incident. UPDATE: Since my initial post, Doni, one of the owners of Don's Tree Service, has contacted my husband and informed him that she will now be paying him LAST due to my truthful review of her business. This is an unfortunate retaliation. I feel that consumers should be informed and should inform others. And that is exactly what this review seeks to do - inform. After contacting 2 or 3 other arborists who never followed through or got back to me, someone told me about Don's Tree Service. I called them, and in less than one week a huge damaged pine tree adjacent to my house was taken down, hauled away and the stump ground into mulch. They employees were helpful, friendly, cordial, and MOST of all, professional. My dealings with the owner, Ms. Doni were cordial and professional. Everything was done as she said she would...no surprises. And even when I got a little anxious, not understanding that the hauling away of the tree was a separate job (included in the cost) from the crew that cut down the tree, Ms. Doni was very professional in explaining the process. I really wish I had checked the reviews before using this Tree Sevice. They won't show up when they say they will. The owner will say anything, but not deliver, to try to keep your business. You will be besieged with calls until you have paid, but if you call them, they won't call you. Unless they want your money. Look elsewhere. read more

I used this service in July 2017 after buying a new home - I had to follow up several times with the owner to see if they had come to the house to give me a quote - always an excuse of why they hadn't - finally about 3 weeks later I got a quote and they took a few trees down. I decided to use them again in March 2018 and again, I kept chasing the owner several times - they never once called to let me know they never showed up - there is to much competition in my local area for business owners not to call to let home owners know they couldn't make it- I went with another local company - cost me an extra $150, but the quote and work was done within 7 day read more

Thank you to Doni, Morgan, Byron (who ground the stumps) and the crew from Don's Tree Service. I had 15 trees cut down. Atlanta was in the midst of a snow shutdown. Morgan and the crew came as soon as the roads were clear. The job took 2 days. Day 1 they cut down most of the trees. Day 2 the clean up truck came and hauled away the debris then returned for the rest and they cleaned up afterwards. Be prepared to pay 1/2 at the start of the job and 1/2 once the job is completed. read more

Don's Tree Service cut down two trees in my neighbor's yard.They cut the limbs by working in my yard without my permission.I was contacted by observant residents and met Don's Tree Service workers. I asked who gave them permission. No permission was asked nor granted. Called company, but no satisfactory answer. Told they knocked on my door and proceeded. No other efforts. They communicated a RIGHT to proceed. Donnie, owner of tree service did not return call to me and I called Police. Did finally get a call from Donnie who insulted me for several minutes. Unprofessional, nasty and unreal to deal with. Explore YouTube videos related to Don's. Claim to be a knowledgable arborist, but has no skills with people or the law. This is the company that is seen around ATL. It is one thing to not hire them, but if your neighbors do, then you are still getting the shaft from them because they feel they have the right to work on your property. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Very unprofessional. This has been an ongoing job for the past month and a half and the lack of communication has made it an even worse experience. They call one day and say they will come but never show up until they call again two weeks later and say they will be out on yet another set date but never show. Also they do not have the proper equipment to do services which I find highly unacceptable being that you are paying so much money. I called Don's tree service for an evaluation of some pine trees on a property in Atlanta that concerned me (two were leaning) and a quote for removal. I was referred by a friend, and honestly was concerned about some of the negative reviews I saw. Doni was very nice and knowledgeable, and gave me a very reasonable quote for the tree removal. But she told me the tree I was most concerned about did not need to be removed, and pointed out another one that was more likely to need removal first, but advised that none of them were urgent and she recommended not cutting any of them down right now. When I call a business for a quote and they tell me I don't need to give them business, I'll chalk that up to honesty. read more

DON NOT HIRE NOT EVEN FOR AN EMERGENCY. What horrible service and company. I have read that some people didn't get someone to show up. They showed up and only cut a few of my trees, my mistake was that I paid them for the entire job before the entire job was completed. I was told by Dona that they would come back the next day. This went on for weeks. Someone would call me and tell me they would arrive in 3 hours and then a call back several hours later and oh we will out in 4 hours. Then we would get a call back telling us oh not today the job we had scheduled earlier today we could not complete maybe tomorrow. Tomorrow would come and no body showed up. I had a very professional experience with Don's Tree Service. We had 3 huge trees removed from our residence ( and ground the stumps ). They also cleared out dense brush and small trees behind our back fence. The price simply could not be beat, Doni and her team were communicative and responsive, and I could not be more pleased. Like I said- these were GIANT trees, and the clean up was done quickly. My neighbors were so impressed that 2 of them have Don's Tree Service lined up to do work for them. While I have not had any services provided by Don's Tree Service, I do know firsthand that they are untrustworthy, unprofessional, and utilize various unethical business practices. What I am learning through numerous online reviews and personal experience is that this company is in it for THEM - not YOU, the client or employee.
