I had 4 medium-large knives and two paring knives…read more They were sharpened 4 years ago and i have one that's fairly sharp but lately I kept cutting myself so I decided to look for a convenient shop to get my knives in, but most of them required a longer wait. A guy came to our building and sharpened all my knives from his car. It took about half hour. I did the paper test and all of the cut through it smoothly. Highly recommend!

For the hair cutting scissors it cost $32. It was well worth the money to be able to preserve this really nice set and not get some cheap garbage replacement at the store. He was very friendly and professional about it, and we liked the wealth of knowledge that he provided . We will come back to sharpen the rest of her types of blades.

William's mother greeted me, took my knives, and reminded me of the price range per knife. On Friday morning, I got a text that my knives were ready and confirming the final price. Pick up was quick and easy, and the knives are well sharpened. Two of my knives are polished to a shiny finish, and William was able to maintain that shine. The knives cut so much better now, and I'm sure I'll be back in the future. A few notes - the gate to the backyard is in the cul de sac (not the main street that the front door is on), so when you send the text letting them know that you've arrived, they'll meet you at that side gate. They only accept cash or Venmo. They don't give you the final price or pickup time until the work is done, I think because William needs to assess the knives. The price felt fair to me given the quality of work, just something to be aware of!

Whatever good work they used to do has clearly taken a turn for the worse. Had my knives…read moreconveniently picked up and they were dropped off within a couple hours. So far so good. Upon closer inspection, however, it was abundantly clear that they used a grinder on my knives. You can clearly see in the photos there are scratches on some of the blades, and the heel on them has either been ground down from the hard angle it used to be, or there are clear gouges in the heel where the grinder hit them. No Japanese whetstone is doing that much damage to a knife. When I texted and emailed many times to provide this feedback, I was met with silence. Clearly they're not interested in even admitting they use a grinder, and poorly. Don't let these folks touch your knives unless it's a knife set you got at Costco that you don't really care about.
