White Electric

I am so glad I chose White Electric of New York, LLC in Port Chester, NY 10573…read morehttps://www.whiteelectricinc.com/ (914) 946-5566! I needed my entire house checked for electrical safety. After a big thunderstorm, half of the house's electrical lighting would not work. In addition, most all of the electrical outlets were only two-prong and thus had no grounding pin port and may have dated back to the 1950's. Further, some outlets that did have a three-prong outlet did not seem to have any actual ground connection to them at all, thus posing a safety hazard. There were also some previously disconnected outlets that were actually still live and exposed posing additional safety hazards. As I knew nothing about electricity, I knew enough that it was a job that needed expert attention, but who to choose? I contacted at least seven different companies and had at least three companies come out to the house to do an in-person inspection and estimate. I work as an attorney. Part of my job as an attorney is to make assessments of people when they are sitting in front of me for a deposition. I've evaluated thousands of people during depositions to assess their credibility, competence, and reliability. Therefore, as each electrician arrived at my house, I was simultaneously evaluating them as well to get a read on their character and competence. One company that visited (I'll call them "Company C"), was an absolute "no go". I knew within three minutes that this was not going to work and the more time they spent, the further this initial impression was confirmed. Such an instant bad vibe. Another company that visited (I'll call them "Company B"), was ok and I was actually going to hire them. The company had a ton of excellent and glowing reviews on Home Advisor which also influenced my leaning towards hiring "Company B". However, I wanted to check at least one more company to compare prices. That company was White Electric. The supervisor, Matt, arrived personally at my house to do the estimate. Almost immediately based on his manner, way of talking, attitude, etc., I felt very confident about his abilities. I instantly got a "good vibe". Matt was thorough, detailed, and explained what needed to be done, and some possible things that should be done and why. Matt later provided a detailed, written estimate. The costs came out roughly comparable to "Company B", however because Matt had such a good personal impression, I decided to go with White Electric instead of "Company B" and I signed the agreement with White Electric to schedule the work. My initial impressions of Matt were one thing, but what about the workers who would actually do the work? Would they be the same? Was Matt just a "front man" to hook the client, but then the actual workers would be less than desirable? I was a bit apprehensive. I am what you might call a "Type-A" personality. I am very detailed, always apprehensive, constantly worrying, very perceptive, very sensitive. I am also very, very, very, particular about who I let into my home. I am something of a reclusive, I don't like people in general because in the abstract, people tend to be inconsiderate, rude, and selfish. So I was very "on edge" when the actual workmen arrived as I did not know what they would be like. Long story short, the workmen were EXCELLENT! ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT! The workmen who arrived were Jason and Kyle. This was not just a one-day encounter, mind you. The work I had done required several all-day visits. At least four separate all-day visits. I was on-site all day, every day with Jason and Kyle as they worked. So I had the opportunity to see their work style and character over an extended period of time and in person. They were on time. They were efficient. They worked competently. They were considerate. They worked clean. During some aspects of the installation/repair work, unforeseen obstacles or problems arose in the work. What you might call an "Uh oh!" moment. Something unexpected. For example, a hidden beam or obscured obstacle was in the way during wiring, or a challenging wiring path was encountered. I could see that Jason took his time to analyze the situation and come up with several proposed solutions. He kept me informed of possible options and gave me the final choice as to what course of action to employ. Accordingly, if any unforeseen challenges arose thereafter, I instantly thought "Oh, Jason will be able to take care of it, no matter what it was! He will get the job done!" and I would not have to worry about it. Also during this time I worked and communicated with Laura in the office. She assisted with coordinating scheduling, invoicing, fielding any questions or concerns I had, etc. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. Clearly, the entire crew at White Electric is a "Class A" operation. I recommend White Electric with no hesitation. Any questions? Please feel free to e-mail or text me at rwg215@nyu.edu or (914) 792-8860. Thanks!

I'm glad I selected White Electric for rewiring and adding lighting throughout my house, even…read morethough they had higher estimates than other contractors I brought in. They work quickly, on time and on budget. It took them less than a week for a whole house. I worked with Andrew Steel and he was easy to talk to, listened well, and communicated clearly what he thinks needed to be done. He saved me more than $3,000 of unnecessary work that another contractor said was needed for safety reasons. The office also keeps me updated on progress and regularly sends clear, updated invoices. The office is also easy to contact. I would give them 5 stars if not for one thing: they left a mess of wooden blocks and insulation in the attic. I wouldn't hesitate to call on them again and plan to use them for landscaping lighting; but I will be sure to tell them to keep things a little cleaner.

I was searching for a stonework contractor this morning when I found two negative reviews about…read moreRinaldi Electric, written on September 24, 2019, and May 2, 2022. I acknowledge those reviews, but my experience with Rinaldi Electric over the years has been entirely different. I have been renovating different properties for the last 27 years. As a result, I meet numerous different contractors, not necessarily with the most satisfying results. If you are planning a significant or minor renovation at your property, you need to be knowledgeable or fortunate enough to find good contractors. In my experience, finding good contractors could be very distressing and anxiety-provoking. Educating yourself about the specific areas of the renovation that you would like to execute could be exhausting. However, it will alert you if something is done incorrectly. If you feel that you can trust a particular contractor, you might confront an unpleasant surprise most of the time. A few years ago, I needed some electrical work inside my house. I interviewed three different electrical companies in my area. Unfortunately for me, I received three different approaches to do my electrical work with drastically different prices. I was forced to learn the appropriate way to do my installation. It took me a few months to understand this particular electrical work, but life forced me to learn more. At a certain point, I was lucky enough to interview the "Rinaldi Electrical Co." This company was the only one that knew what to do appropriately, with excellent customer service, and for a very fair price. As soon as they started working at my house, I was convinced that the work would be done correctly. They were polite, responsible, and knowledgeable, which is very difficult to find in this new era. The company's owner is a very polite and responsible person who will be diligent about ensuring that the work is done correctly, and most importantly, with customer satisfaction as a priority. He is an excellent businessman who is currently difficult to find. This is the only company that I am aware of that doesn't generate anxiety in me when they are working in the house. I contracted Rinaldi Electric on three different occasions with magnificent results. They are coming back soon for the installation of my new kitchen. After working professionally with human behaviors for over 38 years and having accumulated experience with different contractors, I feel very comfortable recommending "Rinaldi Electric."

I was drawn to a Moroccan candle lamp we bought ages ago in the East Village- then had hubs' friend hook up a wire and light bulb. Because that wasn't a legit electrical job, it gave out- but we saved the Moroccan Lamp anyway for looks. Powell has always been our first line of defense for all things Lamps and knew we'd get a brand new and rewired Moroccan lamp. Located a few doors down from Apple Farm and SAKS Off 5th, the husband and wife team here- have always delivered exceptional lamp service. Plus there's so much lighting eye candy. Powell's process is a bit off I think- but somehow it works and they do come through. I visited 2 weeks ago and explained my issue to Fran and asked how much wire I needed, length, on/off switch placement, etc. She fills out order receipt with basic name and # info. Powell Accessories will not give you prices on the spot and even though I asked, she just couldn't give me a ballpark estimate. Lamps stay with them while they access the situation. And between the time I dropped off my lamp and the time we got a quote was 2 weeks. Although I love my Moroccan lamp, my fear was without a price quote sooner- I didn't want to be slapped with a $500 bill afterwards! Goes to show you I'm not the lamp expert and all we paid was just $48!
