The hamburger look like a McDonald's hamburger. They want to much money.and they only take cash

I read the good reviews and thought I would give them a try. Not a fan. We ordered cheese fries, a strawberry shake and a banana split. The fries tasted like they were microwaved and the cheese was super goopy like it was out of a can. The strawberry shake tasted like artificial flavor, and the banana split was served in a cup which was a first for me. I wanted to like it, since we are new to the area, but I definitely would not recommend. read more

35$ for 2 polish sausage baskets, 1 cheeseburger, a small Shake, and a small hot fudge Sunday... This was so gross our first time there. Their 2nd day open of the season... ALL of the food was cold. no flavor for any of the food, and our one polish sausage was suppose to be cheese only and it had mustard and 1 COLD slice of American cheese on it. Smh.. did not eat any of the food won't come back. waste of gas and money.. read more

My husband got the corn dog basket, I got a hot fudge sundae with nuts. The ice cream was mediocre which was surprising. It kind of tasted like McDonald's soft serve. The corn dog was burnt but he did like the coleslaw that came with it. read more

I used to drive down 41 from "The Region" to Wabash College, and loved stopping here at Don's for a fantastic burger. My dad owned Art's Drive-In in Hammond and I worked there, so I was raised on this kind of place. Today, June 18 2020, I'm still a huge fan. I love this place it's usually open from Memorial Day thru Labor Day but sometimes longer. Old fashioned drive in that suits those cravings. Good food and great ice cream. Prices are great and food is quick. Stop and see them in summer. I've been coming for over 40 years! read more

Food is okay and is standard diner food. I found the food (chili cheese fries) to be pretty mediocre. My husband had a hamburger and a sausage sandwich and they were okay. If you're looking for some place for fast food that's not McDonald's, this is a good option. It's a quaint little place. The bathrooms were pretty gross and could use a good cleaning. read more

Great food had their Jumbo Burger came with fries and coleslaw served in large portions. It's an original drive in from the 50's Era the staff very friendly and helpful and delivers your order right to your vehicle something most never experienced before unless you grew up the 50's era. read more

I was driving down 41 on my way to Terra Haute to visit my nephew at the air base. I hadn't eaten since breakfast n wanted a quick bite. Tried the jumbo burger n chocolate shake. I ordered n it was out in no time. The burger was a big double cheeseburger that was hot n tasty with fresh ingredients. The shake was perfect, not too thick not too runny, and it hit the spot. Cute little place. The owner even checked up on me to make sure that I was a happy camper since I didn't want to overeat now since Im meeting my nephew for dinner. The burger was so good that I ate all of it n will worry about dinner later. This was like finding an oasis in the desert. read more

We were really unimpressed with Don's. We weren't really expecting much besides greasy, cheap food that you feel bad about eating but enjoy while you eat it, but we didn't even get that. Nothing was great and it reminded me of cheap fair food, where everything is pre-frozen and just fried when you order. The burgers are what really disappointed us though (I don't really expect much from chicken tenders and French fries). They were really poor quality without much flavor, much like you'd get at a school cafeteria. Maybe the malts and shakes would redeem Don's, but with the cheap food we didn't feel compelled to order a dessert. read more

Aces across the board! I can't remember the last time I was at an old school drive-in? I had to figure out what was going on first and how to use those old mechanical, read the menu manually and actually push the button so you can speak to a human devices. First off the prices were ridiculously cheap. For 20 bucks I could have ate lunch for a week. I got the Jumbo burger that consisted of two patties with cheese. A three piece bun and slaw in the middle. Awesome! Fries and a tub of slaw were part of the program. The car hop brought out the food lickety split. Now the fries were in a paper tray and there wasn't a speck of grease on it? The burger was wrapped in paper and it was dry as well. Everything was delicious. At a burger stand? Really! I only come to this side of the earth once a month. But that means that I will be truly enjoying myself twelve times a year at 5 bucks a pop! read more

Nice little nostalgic place. Decent cheeseburgers and corn dogs. We also got the fried mushrooms which were good. Staff was super nice. The bathrooms were out of order, but you can use the bathroom at the bank just across the parking lot. We'll be back again. Next time we'll try the ice-cream and fried pickles. I just ate the best ice cream sandwich I've ever had. It is homemade and Don's makes it best. The ice cream was very creamy and the wafers were very crisp and fresh. It was about 2 inches thick and was only a couple of bucks. I am very impressed! read more

Great old fashioned car hop service. We ordered the famous double burger and chicken finger basket. The burger had coleslaw on it...I wasn't a huge fan of the coleslaw but the burger was good, the hubbies chicken fingers were great as well as the can't stop eating them fries! There are plenty of picnic tables in the shade to eat at. Overall a fun, yummy place to stop on the way to turkey run state park! read more

I love going out to eat here. I'd honestly have to say my favorite food from Don's is the breaded dill pickles. Don's is the perfect place to just chill with friends on a hot summer day, or just to get a quick meal. It also gives high school students an excellent place to work during the summers. Don's is a great drive up in the summertime. I love their French fries they make up a specialty Dons slawburger I am not crazy about it. But I do like the coleslaw separate this very tasty. The prices are not too bad. read more
