I went in to get some bait early morning. The store opened later than 5am and that was ok but then after the owner had filled my brothers bucket to the brim with water, the owner actually starts yelling and cursing saying his bucket has a leak. I can't believe My brother actually apologized to owner for his mistake. Let me be there next time and it won't be me that will apologizing or paying for the bait. I should note too that some other people were there but I guess since we weren't of the same ethnicity, he felt that he could speak that way. Also prices are a lot better at RICKS YELLOW BAITHOUSE right before you start going to the keys. read more

Owner is super friendly and is extremely chill. I went early like at 5:30 am and they had everything we needed. Live crabs are $3.50 ($0.50 cheaper then at the keys) and a dozen live shrimp for $4. You also get to choose the crabs you want which makes it fun in my opinion haha. Super chill and efficient place definitely recommend! read more

Don's has become my go-to bait shop for several reasons. One, it is nicely located just north of Lucy Street along US1, which makes it a convenient drive straight into the homestead marina. Two, the opening hour of 5:00 am allows us to get on the water before sunrise. Three, the selection of bait and tackle can't be beat. And Four, the owner is a solid dude with great knowledge and a positive attitude. Boat parking along the side of the shop is great, and at 5:00am, the parking lot is empty. The shop is well stocked with an assortment of tackle, boating supplies, apparel and ice, in blocks and bags. There is an ample assortment of frozen and fresh baits. Prices are fair and supply has never been an issue. This is the cleanest and most organized bait store you will ever visit. Truly a positive experience and outcome every time. read more

Terrible service. I go and buy live shrimp and the guy behind the counter hands me the live shrimp without water. I asked for him to add water and he caught an attitude. And kept try to convince me to buy a bucket that I didn't need. And didn't even give me enough water for the shrimp. Unbelievable this place is unprofessional and ridiculously stingy. I've been going to Don's since i was a kid and it's always been great. They treat you like family and can give you some tips on what the sea holds that day. They know their stuff. Came here with a friend, saw a nice $200 reel that I liked, decided to buy it and they didn't have any 6lb line for my small reel only 10lbs and up. Decided to do it anyways and then was told that the reel didn't have a box, it was on display, asked for a small discount was told no so refused to buy the reel. The counter clerk white guy young charged my card for the reel and then wouldn't refund me my complete refund because he spooled the reel. Ended up paying $33 dollars for line I didn't get , and didn't even want in the first place. Would never come back to this shop and would never recommend anyone to come here again. I'll stick to bass pro for good. Lesson learned read more

Super cool dude that will help you out knows whats biting and wont give you all the info but just enough to figure it out. They have live bait, frozen bait, rods, reals, pliers, sunglasses, and everything else you might need. Come to Don's and represent the fishing community. These guys actually know what they are talking about and do it for the passion of the sport. Ramiro, prices of everything go up......have you ever seen them go the other way? Don's remains the best bait shop I have been to, if a cost increase is the result of better management and a cleaner store than so be it.....as far as hand picked goes, when you ask for hand picked in the Summer you get what is available.....as for honesty, never had an issue myself....did you bring up this issue to the owner/operator? If there was an error made he will fix it, nothing but professionalism......remember, these guys love fishing too, instead of being on the water, they are there to get you on the water........tight lines! read more
