I had my truck towed in last week for a computer error message. They came highly recommended. They told me it would be mid week before they could get to it but I picked it up today. It cost less than originally quote which was awesome and doesn't happen to often. Ryan is the man in charge and he kept me posted. Ended up being a fuel pump and bare wire. These guys are really professional and seem to know what's going on. A little expensive in my opinion to hook up the diagnostic machine by it is what it is. The overall price was still good. Check them out for your auto electrical needs. It's a little hard to find as it is behind a tire shop but there is a big sign. read more

DON'T GO TO DON'S AUTO ELECTRIC!!!!! On 7-24-2023 At 9:00am I dropped my old 1997 Chevy Silverado off at Dons because the brake lights stopped working. I have used Dons for Many Many years. So I felt good about entrusting my old truck to them. I explained to Brian the new MGR that I had already replaced the Complete tail lights with brand new LEDs. I had also replaced the Brake light switch 2 days earlier and it did not fix the problem. I told Brian that I had reached my mechanical limits and I didn't know what to do next. First thing Brian said was " its going to be $192 for us to diagnose it and what ever has to be done will be an additional charge. This caught me off guard a little bit. Most of the time they will ask more questions Like " when did you notice this or did something happen to cause this? You know warm up a bit before you start throwing big numbers at me without even asking any questions. I thought oh well he must just be having a hard day at 9:00am. So I reluctantly signed the paper that said "WE ARE NOT RESPONCIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS FROM YOUR CAR OR ACCIDENTS". There are 5 large signs lined up for you to see when you walk in. These signs all say what they are not responsible for. Later that day Brian called me and said they figured out what was wrong. It needs a "brake light switch" and its going to cost $360. I asked him if he meant the same brake light switch I spent 5 minutes installing just 2 days earlier? He said well this switch does not look new to him. I said ok how many brake light switches are there on my truck. He said just one. I asked him if he puts another one in and it doesn't fix the problem will it still cost me $360? He said let me talk with the mechanic (turns out there is only one mechanic at Dons auto electric) So I didn't hear anything back until the next day. Brian calls me and said it turns out the brake light switch was new and that was not the problem. He says now I "Me" need to go to ORiellys and pick up a turn signal indicator. My turn signal indicator also controls my Cruise control as well as emergency flashers So this part was not cheap $115. My wife picked it up and delivered it to Brian because as you know my trucks on a lift at Dons auto electric. Brian told her it would be ready by 2:00pm that day. I called about 3:30pm I asked Brian how it was going? He said "we got everything working except the brake lights"...... The brake lights were the reason I brought it in. Nothing else was broken I didn't understand What he meant by "everything else". but I bit my tong and said ok. Brian said let me check the one and only mechanics progress and Ill call you right back. I didn't hear from him again until I called at 10:45am the next day. Brian said we got everything fixed and the mechanic is putting it back together I can pick it up in an hour. 3 hours later I called an Uber and went to pick up my truck. I got there and the truck was still being worked on. I asked Brian what's up? He said his mechanic is at lunch and would be back in an hour. This is 2:00pm now. Now I'm getting a little POed but still calling Brian sir and making small talk as I stand in the waiting room with no chairs, TV, radio, just a 5' by 6' tile floor to pace. Brian calls his mechanic and asks when he will be back the mechanic said I'm pulling up right now. The mechanic walks in with Brian's burger king lunch. then walks out and crawls under my truck. About 5 minutes later two guys walk in the shop and lay down on the floor (see pictures) and have a 45 minute conversation with the mechanic as he lays on his creeper and talks. One hour later I asked Brian What was going one with my truck. He said it turns out that who ever hooked up my trailer light plug "two years ago" messed up the wiring to the brake lights. I guess it slipped Brian's mind that just yesterday he told me it was my turn signal indicator (that cost me $115 from ORiellys. I might be getting a little more PO'ed about now but still being very polite calling him sir. About 45 minutes later Brian drops a clip board on the counter right next to the big sign that says debit card users will be charged 3.99% of the bill as a service fee. He looks at me and says that'll be $686. I pulled out my wallet nd slid My debit card to him. He says " Our credit card machine has been broke for months we only except cash. Now this might have been nice to know Before I took an Uber back to his shop. I told him I didn't have $700 on me and I came here in an Uber. Did he have any options for me? He said Ill have my new office girl run you to an ATM just go outside and wait for her to come out. As you know its July in Oklahoma and was 106 degrees. I walked out to wait some more. Finally walked back in to the standing room. He said she will be right out. Let me tell you about my wonderful experience with Don's Auto. I called on a Friday about how my dashboard lights were not working and was told that my car would be the first vehicle being worked on that coming Monday. Never heard from the shop Monday or Tuesday. My FIL called Wednesday and a man named Stacy (the mechanic) stated he was going to pull my car in just then to take a look at it. About an hour and a half later, Stacy called to say they lost my car keys. My FIL explained that the keys were left in the drop box as we were prompted to do... Stacy went and looked at it and sure enough, the keys were there. *So does this mean they didn't even look for them, who knows?* Thursday comes along and we never hear from the shop. So, my FIL decided to go up there and check on the vehicle since no one was answering the phone. When he gets there, he is greeted by Stacy who explains that they are short handed and he was the only mechanic there. He proceeds to say that he has brought my car in and out of the garage two times and was told by his boss/owner of the shop, Billy, to take my car out and put another car in that had been there longer than my car. He also explains that he hoped to get my car in by the end of the day to at least take a look at it and get an idea of what was wrong and he would call before he left that night to tell us something. We never received a call. Friday morning (today), I called up there myself, Billy answers, and after I explain to him that I was calling to check on the status of my car, he goes on a tangent about how he has had two mechanics off last Fri, this Mon & Tues, had a guy call in Wed and only had one guy in on Thurs and that today he had two mechanics and himself there. *This man was not only rude and argumentative on the phone, but he continued to over talk me and call me honey* He proceeded to explain their issues of why they weren't at work. I stopped him and politely said, his problems with his workers were not mine, all I wanted to know was when, realistically, they would be able to look at my car. His response was "honey, you can come get your car now if you want it back that bad, I can't help that I said we'd get it on Monday and still haven't been able to and I sure as heck can't tell you when I can look at it because I'm busy". So I kindly asked if he could just call me when he would have it in the garage to look at it and his response was "Oh I'll call you myself, personally, to tell you when it's in the garage but let me tell you something honey, when I call to tell you it's in here, don't you dare ask me what's wrong with it because I won't know" so I said thanks and I look forward to your call and hung up. Within about an hour, I had my husband and FIL pick up my car. He was never rude to them as he was to me on the phone. So I suspect he treated me like that because I was a woman. This shop will NEVER get any of my or my family's business. When someone asks for a recommendation for an auto/electric repair, I will make sure to tell them to avoid coming here. I used Billy (the owner) back in my college days for auto repairs to the electrical system. The heart of their business is starters, ignition and alternators. I think they actually re-coil/ rebuild them, but either way they stand behind their work. This is the 3rd or 4th car I have taken to him... a 300ZX (rectifier on starter) Honda Civic, Honda Accord and now a Corvette. What I really like is the fact they can diagnose it without over estimating and get it done in a reasonable amount of time. This experience set the bar way up as I took my car after trying to replace the battery with no luck. On the electric parts on newer vehicles, so many things can fail and the diagnosis can be challenging especially trying to deduce by the method of elimination. When I called, he said he was booked up until mid next week, but if I dropped it off, he would try to squeeze it in at the end of a day. I dropped it off and the 1 thing I am not a fan off is that they don't give you a receipt of dropping the car off. Regardless, I have never had an issue with that with them. The starter was an issue and he replaced it for $412.52 which is decent considering the starter is $250+ by itself and it is under the car. They did have an issue with the car shutting down as soon as any speed was applied. He called me about it and the only thing I could think was the security system or the column lock recall done at Hudiburg. After consulting with several corvette drivers and the forum, it turns out that this is a flaw of the recall and the dealer actually makes it worse by cutting the fuel over 2 mph. In other words, getting that recall fixed actually screwed me. He called over to the dealership but they refused to talk to him since he wasn't the owner. He diagnosed it to not be a security issue and the column lock plate was removed. Hudiburg ultimately made my car inoperable. Going online and buying an LMC5module and installing did the trick to bypass the column lock issue. I did this module installation at the shop and they provided me with all the tools. They would have dropped off my far for me if I needed. Glad to have them in my corner for similar issues. read more

I've been having starters and alternators rebuilt here for 25 years. If you want a great job done for a great value; this is as good as it gets. Highly recommend! Brought my alternator in Friday at 1 and had it back completely rebuilt by 4:30. Works just like new for way less than buying one at a parts store. read more

I will update this as soon as my is at least looked at. I called don's 2 weeks ago because my normal auto shop referred me there. The gentleman i talked to told me to bring the car to them the following monday and they would inspect it and tell me what the problem was. They're busy, i get it, no problem. Ill deal. I drop my car off on sunday evening with my keys and telephone number and a brief overview of what has been problematic with my car thus far. It is now thursday evening, and after several calls to them i find out that they haven't even looked at my car yet. And MIGHT be able to see to it tomorrow. Problem! I am now 2 weeks without a vehicle with no apparent help in the foreseeable future. Hopefully my update will be a more positive one but i am seriously starting to doubt it. I have changed this place from 2 to 3 stars because i am a couple months in amd the car is running like a dream, im not sure if i would recommend but if you are out of options give these guys a try read more

I have an Orange 1972 Blazer. My temperature gauge would not read. I had replaced virtually everything one piece at a time. No joy. I called Dons Auto Electric. He shot me a price and a time span. He nailed both of them. 6 months later it still works. I am writing this as I look them up to return for gas gauge, rear tail lights and Vintage Auto heater switch repair. So I had some headlights installed on my truck here. The guy that did them was very pleasant and did a great job. I now have one side that doesn't work. Stopped in there to see if they could take a look at it mind you this was done in May it is now October. The guys there today wouldn't even look at them. They told me I needed to get better headlights. These were not cheap headlights. Other than this the guy that initially installed them was wonderful just wish it could have been the same this time. read more

After being turned down by the first dozen or so handy men/repair shops I called, Don's was willing to actually fix at a very reasonable price (instead of replace the part for $500-900) the circuit board to my 2006 Toyota Hilander air conditioner. Don's did it and did it fast and well, and it works better than ever! read more

I bought a used 04 Expedition that would drain the battery in a day. I took it to 3 places that said they wouldn't guaranty that they could fix it and it could cost up to a $1000.00 just to troubleshoot. I took it to Don's electric and they called me about 3 days later and it cost me about $150.00. They replaced an remote back window latch and I haven't had any trouble since. I am posting this now because I just recommended them to another person that is having electrical issues. I will only use them any time I have an electrical issue. read more
