I may have just had a one-off experience because everyone seems to love them, or maybe the tech we got wasn't honest, but I called them since our washer was struggling during the spin cycle. They quoted us over $400 to fix this and said it was because it's a complicated and expensive part to replace. Luckily, we ended up doing some research and the part was $30 at Lowe's and it took maybe 20 minutes to replace ourselves. We had to pay the diagnostic fee which was over $100 even though we already knew what was wrong with it. The whole experience felt dishonest. Even if they used authentic parts I can't see that they would be that much more expensive and the labor was definitely not complicated. Next time we're going to research the fix before calling anyone. Sucks that good appliance repair companies are so hard to find.

Akai inspected the entire unit and indicated the issue was the defroster in the freezer wasn't working and needed to be replaced. He quoted me what I thought was a very fair price but before I could say "Shut up and take my money!" he added that when he had unplugged the unit & plugged it back in, when starting up again the compressor sounded a bit suspicious. Thus he indicated I could go ahead and pay him to install a new defroster in the freezer, but it is only a matter of time before the compressor craps out and then replacing it would be over $1,000 and not worth it. So get this....he proposes that I defrost it the old school way by unplugging it, opening both the freezer & fridge doors, placing towels in front of the unit, and allowing all of the ice to melt and then just mop up all the water with towels and my wet vac and that would solve the problem for now. And in a few months when the issue occurs again I can just repeat the old school defrosting method until the compressor finally goes kaput, and then get a brand new refrigerator. Sure enough, I proceeded to do exactly what he recommended and lo and behold the fridge & freezer started working properly again. And I am all too happy to repeat every few months to squeeze every last bit of life from this old fridge until I have to get a new one. Akai could have very easily kept quiet about the compressor sounding sketchy and that it could fail in 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years and gotten a nice service order for replacing the defroster since he had already devoted the valuable time & effort to come to my house. However, he instead chose to be completely honest and forthcoming which is not as common as it should be and is very appreciated. I have saved his contact info and the next time I have any issues with any appliances he will be the technician I call. Knowledge and experience is great and there are a lot of qualified & knowledgeable appliance repair companies out there. However, also possessing honesty and integrity is why I strongly recommend Akai for any appliance repair issues.

Have used Triple T for over 20 years. They are always quick to come out in an emergency and have…read morealways fixed it right the first time. The techs are always friendly and knowledgeable. They always wipe their feet before coming into my home- important to me! and always clean up when they are done. Recently our 22 year old a/c needed to be replaced. We obtained several bids and Triple T was comparable with other companies. We replaced the A/C in the spring/ thank God not the summer!- It too a while for the unit to be delivered to their shop. When it came in they inspected it before bringing it out and noticed that the front panel was dented so they sent it back. I don't know any other company that would be that particular about a dent on a panel that is only visible when you change the filter. Gives me confidence that they care about the parts they use for your home and the amount of detail and pride they take in their work. When the new one came in the team came out and had the old one out and the new one in the same day. Again, cleaned up all their mess and one stayed to make sure the house was cooling properly and the air coming out of the vents was the proper temp. I can't say enough about them.
