My wife purchased a 7ft tree from Donna's last year (2022), 3 weeks before Christmas. They informed her that the tree was fresh. As what most people wrote, Donna's trees are expensive. Well 2 weeks after purchasing the tree, we were not plugging in the strings of lights on the tree for being a fire hazard . The tree had shed its needles and was dry and wasn't taking water. Moved to this area (Thrasher's Corner) from King County more than 3 1/2 years ago and have purchased from Donna's the last 4 years. They're always super friendly and helpful (thus 3 stars rather than 1 or 2) and we were satisfied the first year or 2. But with each year the quality seemed to go down (as the prices went up) in terms of how they held up through the season. This past December (2018) we noticed the deterioration starting immediately as it started losing needles at an alarming rate. The attached photos show what it looked like after removing decorations on 12/30/18, barely 3 1/2 weeks from purchase. We had them cut a few inches off the bottom not long before putting it in the stand and kept the water full, although it never seemed to be absorbing much water, if any at all. I've been buying Christmas trees (either from a lot or U-cut) for more than 30 years and except for the last 2-3 years usually see water absorption at a high rate over the first few days. We'll be going to a U-cut farm at the end of 2019. read more

Congratulations to Donna's trees for being more bloated than Santa's belly after a night of cookies. When we arrived we immediately knew this was a bad idea as multiple cars were leaving with no tree atop their cars. All I saw were heads shaking and mouths muttering word that looked like "Holy $&%#! there's no way I'm doing that." The two teenagers working the joint eyed us almost apologetically. We walked up and immediately were told "It's because of a tree shortage." We didn't even look at the prices yet! And then we saw it: $320 for an 8 foot tree. Eat a bag of Dick's Hamburgers! Went down the road and bought a gorgeous 7 footer for $70 (and free hot chocolate) Donna, you absolutely sucked any Christmas joy out of the air with your price gouging. I get that low demand means higher prices, but you should be ashamed for taking advantage of the situation. read more

Nope. We have been customers of Donna's for many years and every year we feel more like a sucker for paying an insane price for a tree, even after their $20 off coupon. We visited today and the only tree in the 6'-7' range that was vaguely appealing was $165. We were even more dismayed that, although they had signs up indicating that masks were mandatory, a family of four was wandering around the entire time we were there (30+ minutes) not wearing masks. There were plenty of staff members helping customers yet none of them enforced the mask mandate which further soured our experience. We took our business elsewhere to a lot that had much fresher trees at far more reasonable prices, even without a coupon. read more

I don't really get the bad ratings for this place. I parked my car and was instantly greeted by a jolly tree-mongerer (Larry!). He was great! Friendly and effective. He even spun a couple of trees for me to make sure I got to see all around :) I got a very nice 6ft Douglas fir for under 50 (with coupon). They wrapped up the tree and got it on my car in five minutes and I was good to go! A lot of people were complaining about the price but I think it was mostly for the Noble Firs. The other types were on par with other places I dropped by and the customer service and mask-wearing was much better here. read more

Sorry. The trees at this place are insanely overpriced. Never in my life have I seen a $450 dollar 10ft tree, regardless of species. Even 4ft Douglas Firs were going around $70. Middle of the road? Expect to pay $150+ for a decent sized tree. One of the workers heard us talking about the prices, and said that the trees were that much because of the $20 coupon that they send out... maybe just make your trees $20 less expensive to start? Our family is not willing to spend that kind of money on an ephemeral experience, and like others, we walked in, were shocked by the prices, and turned right around. What a shame. read more

We went to Donnas trees last year and were very happy with our selection/purchase. This year we went and left within 10mins. The prices of the trees were way too high in my opinion. We live in an apartment and we're looking for a 4-5 foot tree. Every tree we had any interest in was $79 and up! We just couldn't pay that much for a tree and I don't remember paying that much last year. We ended up leaving and going to a different place, we bought a beautiful 5 1/2 foot tree for $55 total. Due to the high prices I will most likely not return to Donna's. read more

What a lovely place! The staff was nice, helpful, and readily available. The trees are a bit pricey, as mentioned by other reviewers, but they are all lovely. Trees vary in size from 'first studio apartment' sized to '12 foot ceiling in the bay window' sized. They have more nobles than I've seen at most other pre-cut lots, and very few douglases (that may be because we waited a while to get our tree). They re-cut the bottom of our tree, bailed it, and tied it to our car for us. Upon getting our tree home and battling our crappy old tree stand with the one grinchy screw, we realized we should have picked up a stand from Donna's (because they sell those, too). If ever we find ourselves needing a pre-cut tree again, we will return here. read more

Donna's Trees saved my Christmas! I had bought a tree and forgot to water it the first night after I set it up. Even though I had not purchased my tree from them, Larry from Donna's Trees graciously offered to re-cut the bottom of my tree for me when I frantically called the number for the nearest tree lot. He texted the Seattle location to let them know we were on our way, and they were expecting us and ready to help when we got there. We went to Fred Meyer for our tree last year and pricing at Donnas was close to what we paid last year for the same tree. Make sure you look around here. New to the area we gave Donna's trees a try this Christmas season. Everyone there was very nice and helpful right away, so we felt excited to have found our spot! We found our tree, $120 (felt a little expensive), they mentioned they gave it a fresh cut and a few gentlemen were nice enough to even tie it on top of our car. We were so excited we decorated and had the tree up right away! Unfortunately we questioned the fresh cut but put the tree up regardless, a few days later we noticed the tree didn't drink any water... we tried all the tricks in the book, but nothing worked. A noble tree for $130+??!! We normally cut down a fresh noble from a local tree farm, but weren't able to this year due to illness and injury. Donna's Trees is the premier gypsy Christmas tree trading post in Bothell. They set up once a year bringing us the finest small pines available. They are a strange group, but highly efficient. You can expect to pay about twice as much for your tree as you might at a home center, but the trees usually look a lot better and they have more to choose from. I have theorized that the trees are injected with pure cocaine at an early age to give them that energetic luster. As soon as you pick your tree out a hyper well bundled teenager will pick the tree up and put it in or on your car. When you go to pay try to not get too frightened when you're in the mobile trailer and notice the recently slept in cot, a few feet from the register. Yes, someone actually must stay there 24/7. All and all if you are willing to pay a little more for a tree and you want to be in and out quickly, Donna's is the place to go to. read more
