We absolutely love Play it Koi! My husband has been purchasing items for our Koi pond from them, and their knowledge and customer service are truly outstanding. Recently, they went above and beyond to help him determine the correct pump size for our pond. They took the time to carefully go through all the details and calculations, yet they never charged a consultation fee--even though it was clear they put in a lot of effort. Their prices are very reasonable, and their expertise is unmatched. We are so grateful for their honesty, patience, and willingness to help. If you're looking for a trustworthy place for your Koi pond needs, we highly recommend Play it Koi! read more

Ben is honestly Awesome, he was kind and helpful from the start. My family and I ended up buying 3 beautiful Koi fish the first day we visited Play it Koi. The Koi's themselves were great Japanese Koi fishes ( Tancho, Kujaku, Ginrin ) we're excited to visit Play It Koi again the moment Ben receives more Japanese Koi's. read more

Title: Best Algae Remover Rating: 5 stars Author: Rick N. I'd used many different pond cleaners/algae removers and This product has done the job the others claim to do. I've spent $100's of dollars on pond maintenance and I have my pond cleaned twice a year. Every summer the pond looks horrible due to string and other algae strains. I've bought the larger bottle on my second purchase, I recommend buying the lager amount the first. Thanks Play It Koi read more

I was very happy with my experience with Play It Koi! Not only did they have the best prices, but there spent quite a bit of time helping me over the phone troubleshoot and figure out the problem I was having with my filter system in my pond. My items arrived in 2 days. I'll definitely be doing business with them again! read more

I bought some Sagittaria lancifolia 'Rubrum' stems and they were shipped promptly and in good condition. The owner is so helpful and friendly. After planting them in my pond, they started growing new leaves and I could see them perk up overnight. I'm very excited to see how well it fills in. read more

Play it Koi had exactly what I was looking for! I definitely plan on returning since I've had time to visit their website and have seen the great variety of items and products they carry for my outdoor pond. The shipping was quick and I'm in North Carolina! Like I said, they had exactly what I was looking for and the cost was better than that huge online retailer that I will not name. I recently purchased Matala Biosteps Plus filter for our 500 gallon quarantine tank. They not only shipped the filter the same day, but I also received a personal email from customer service just following up on my order. You won't get that kind of customer service too many places. I'd recommend them to everyone. read more

My wife Monica and I were so happy to come across Ben of Play it Koi today. Our old pump in our pond finally gave up after 12 years this week. Wanting to replace it ourselves, we pulled out the old pump this morning. After searching hopelessly at Lowe's & Home Depot, my wife found Play It Koi after a quick web search, and we were on the road to meet Ben. After meeting and showing him the old pump, he was able to quickly make a recommendation and get us a new one from his stock and we were on our way. We only needed to pick up a single additional PVC adapter. We returned home and put everything back together and are now back up and running! The experience with Ben was great; don't waste your time as we did initially at a big box store and go directly to someone who knows what they are doing! read more

The order arrived so quickly. I think they even included some extras. The plants were packed well and they thrived as soon as we put them in the pond even in the chilly PNW weather. Just impressed by everything! Highly recommend! read more

Plants arrived quickly and were healthy and in clean water. Have ordered from them in the past and plan to order more in the future!

Ben was very helpful and empathetic due to the sensitive nature of my purchase of Tricaine-S (MS 222) Fish Anesthetic. Ben was very compassionate, understanding and apologetic for the reason of my purchase. His understanding, knowledge and support were really superb. It is never an easy decision to euthanize a pet. In most cases where euthanasia is being considered because an irreversible illness or disease, mercy is the only way to go. It was Dropsy in my case and Ken helped me with the dosing information to make it as safe and effortless as possible for me and my pet. Ken was compassionate and very supportive. I could not have asked for a better experience in an already difficult situation. Ken was there for me and showed genuine concern. He was personable and it was a very real experience with him. He left me feeling 100% cared for. He treated me with kindness and respect like any human would want to be treated. This product is not easy to find. The fact that he has it available is a godsend. I will always go back to Play it Koi and you should too! I give Ken props for showing genuine concern and loyalty to his customers. He is very good at following up and communicating, which is critical to having happy customers. Ken understands the key to success is having genuine concern for people and their wellbeing. He made sure all my questions were answered like any great, caring business owner is supposed to do. My only suggestion for improvement would be on the cost of shipping. I needed the medicine right away so I was desperate enough to pay for speedy delivery which cost me more than the bottle of Tricaine-S itself. All in all Play it Koi is on the top of my "love it" list. I am grateful to have been in such caring hands during the entirety of this experience. Thanks Ken, for all your support. read more

Tuesday, September 5, 2017 12:16 PM Ben's Koi is hands down the best Koi seller that I have visited. The selection and quality of the fish are superb. A mixed up tracking number sent me into a panic causing me to think my Koi were going to starve and complain to the KOI PROTECTIVE SERVICES!!! I had only moments ago hit sent on a blistering email about "where is my Koi kibble" when Ben's gal Kelly came to my rescue. She was so calming, so kind, laughed with me that my Koi would still love me and the pellets were really at my front door..... it was just a mix up with the tracking number. What a great gal. Bought the required amount of plant from the company. Got way more than I expected which was great, very pleased with the amount. So far acclimation has gone well however the 30% of the plants that I received was not in the best condition, however I think I can nurse it back to health. Perhaps it was too chilly for it during shipping. Will buy from this company again, highly recommend. read more

Terrible experience. I contacted them MANY times to let them know that the plants arrived in terrible condition and were not likely to survive. They did not respond until I finally told them I would dispute the $90 charge for a plant that arrived essentially dead. Then and only then did they respond saying that because the plants arrived 3 days before I sent the photo, they were not eligible for refund or exchange. read more

I wish there were more stars I could give Ben! I'm not one to write reviews, but I had to take the time and acknowledge how wonderful my experience was with Play it Koi. My wife and I recently bought a new home and inherited a beautiful Koi pond with the purchase. Sadly I knew nothing about Koi, or even how to properly maintain the pond. After doing a little research I came across Play it Koi, and Ben. There is no questions that Ben is very passionate and caring about what he does and how well he foe. He could have easily came out, cleaned my pond, and then left. Instead Ben spent 4 hours visiting with me showing me everything he was doing, and teaching me everything possible about my setup, Koi fish, and how to properly care for them. Ben helped me go through my current supplies and was very honest about what I could still use and what I may need to replace. All of his pricing was very fair, and I never felt like I wasn't getting the 100% honest truth. Ben went above and beyond with the service he provided me. There is no doubt that I will be calling Play it Koi for any needs my fish or I have. If you are searching for a good company to help you build a pond, maintain a current pond, purchase pond or fish supplies, or need fish, I highly recommend Ben and Play it Koi! Update** Everything Ben has in stock is great quality and highly recommended. He has amazing prices and the best customer service ever! I've been so happy with anything I've purchased from him. It's always a great experience. Thanks, Ben :) read more

All my experiences with Play it Koi have been superlative save one which was no fault of theirs. USPS took forever to deliver the package and the hornwort inside was by then shredded and rotting. Because it was not Play it Koi's fault I reluctantly contacted Ben about it. He immediately offered either a refund or a replacement and offered to reduce the free shipping threshold to $30 if I wanted to order anything else. This time USPS came through and when I opened the package Ben had generously sent me easily 3 times what I ordered. This company is the best. If you have a pond and not ordering from them you are missing out. The quality of their products and customer service, to use a fancy French phrase, is non pareil!! read more

I recently needed to replace my PondMaxx filter and contacted Play it Koi to see what my options were. Immediately I had a reply from Ben to see what the trouble was. I had explained the i issue with it and told him to stop an order for replacement parts that I needed to replace the filter all together. He told me the price for the filter and that it was my best choice for the type of tank that I have. I placed the order and literally within two days it arrived I was in shock at how quick the delivery was. Everyone here is so helpful and willing to go that extra mile for customer service. I will continue purchasing from Play it Koi and I urge you to do the same as well. They are by far the best. read more

I was surfing the web looking for a PondMAX Filter for my smaller pond. I saw the reviews of this filter on You Tube and decided to buy one. Came across "Play it Koi" and ordered one that night. Almost 24 hours later I realized that I ordered the wrong size. Too small. Needed the larger one. Frantically calling and spoke with Ben. He said" Time is of the essence. Let me immediately see if I can get your order off the truck as shipments immediately go out the next day after ordering" He also assured me that if it was already sent that he would take it back and send me the one I needed. This is the FIRST time I have ordered from him and he treated me like we were best friends and that I have been an excellent customer for years. I was soooo impressed. He said "peoples ponds are important and I don't want anyone buying the wrong item or buying something that they don't need" Such a wonderful and refreshing and caring personality, especially these days.Well I received the filter I wanted as he was able to yank it off the truck. I have never been soooo impressed with an on line company. I am self employed and and know the importance of excellent customer service. I will be ordering all of my pond needs from Ben. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Felix from New York PS: I almost forgot. His price was cheaper than another company I found on line and I got a 5% discount on top of it and better yet.....FREE Shipping where the other company was charging me $32 shipping......it was a WIN.... WIN..... WIN..... situation read more

I can't say enough positive things about Ben and his business, Play it Koi. We were interested in setting up our first Koi pond and jumped into the process pretty blindly. Luckily, as a local business, Play it Koi, was close enough to us that we could easily stop by to ask questions, see products and learn more about what we were getting into. Ben has also been incredibly patient with the calls and questions we've been asking. He is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor to go along with his business sense, so he made us feel comfortable with our choices. We will definitely be using him for all of our future Koi pond needs. read more

Owner is quite knowledgable about water plants and have a few good suggestions. Was a nice experience shopping there !

I ordered horse tail grass to place behind my swimming pool. The plant was a beautiful color green, and much more healthy looking than I bought locally. I received an average of 20 stems per grouping. Great quality and quantity for the price. Customer service was the best. read more

I will NEVER shop at this company again, if it's the LAST place on earth! I ordered an alligator decoy to keep ducks out of the pool. It did not work as the ducks perched right next to it. Therefore, I took the proper steps by calling in a return request, got the shipping label, shipped it back promptly in its original packaging. I even took pictures of the ducks next to the decoy in the pool. They are now telling me that my return is unacceptable and will not issue a refund because the item was used! How else would I find out that it does not work if it wasn't used to prove that it indeed IS DEFECTIVE??? Horrible, HORRIBLE service!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! read more

Recently, I purchased some PondMax lighting from Play It Koi and was very happy with the product, but more importantly, I was pleased with the service and good customer care shown. One of the lights that I purchased turned out to be the wrong size, and since this item had been drop shipped from another supplier, Ben stepped in and facilitated a smooth exchange without any hassles at all. I also got to see his amazing Koi pond and found that his knowledge of this subject matter is impressive. This company is a great, trusted resource for products, supplies, and advice! read more
