My wife Monica and I were so happy to come across Ben of Play it Koi today. Our old pump in our pond finally gave up after 12 years this week. Wanting to replace it ourselves, we pulled out the old pump this morning. After searching hopelessly at Lowe's & Home Depot, my wife found Play It Koi after a quick web search, and we were on the road to meet Ben. After meeting and showing him the old pump, he was able to quickly make a recommendation and get us a new one from his stock and we were on our way. Ben was very helpful and empathetic due to the sensitive nature of my purchase of Tricaine-S (MS 222) Fish Anesthetic. Ben was very compassionate, understanding and apologetic for the reason of my purchase. His understanding, knowledge and support were really superb. It is never an easy decision to euthanize a pet. In most cases where euthanasia is being considered because an irreversible illness or disease, mercy is the only way to go. It was Dropsy in my case and Ken helped me with the dosing information to make it as safe and effortless as possible for me and my pet. Ken was compassionate and very supportive. I could not have asked for a better experience in an already difficult situation. Ken was there for me and showed genuine concern. He was personable and it was a very real experience with him. He left me feeling 100% cared for. He treated me with kindness and respect like any human would want to be treated. This product is not easy to find. The fact that he has it available is a godsend. I will always go back to Play it Koi and you should too! I give Ken props for showing genuine concern and loyalty to his customers. He is very good at following up and communicating, which is critical to having happy customers. Ken understands the key to success is having genuine concern for people and their wellbeing. He made sure all my questions were answered like any great, caring business owner is supposed to do. My only suggestion for improvement would be on the cost of shipping. So far acclimation has gone well however the 30% of the plants that I received was not in the best condition, however I think I can nurse it back to health. Terrible experience. I contacted them MANY times to let them know that the plants arrived in terrible condition and were not likely to survive. They did not respond until I finally told them I would dispute the $90 charge for a plant that arrived essentially dead. All my experiences with Play it Koi have been superlative save one which was no fault of theirs. USPS took forever to deliver the package and the hornwort inside was by then shredded and rotting. Because it was not Play it Koi's fault I reluctantly contacted Ben about it. He immediately offered either a refund or a replacement and offered to reduce the free shipping threshold to $30 if I wanted to order anything else. This time USPS came through and when I opened the package Ben had generously sent me easily 3 times what I ordered. This company is the best. I had explained the i issue with it and told him to stop an order for replacement parts that I needed to replace the filter all together. I was surfing the web looking for a PondMAX Filter for my smaller pond. I saw the reviews of this filter on You Tube and decided to buy one. Came across "Play it Koi" and ordered one that night. Almost 24 hours later I realized that I ordered the wrong size. Too small. Needed the larger one. Frantically calling and spoke with Ben. He said" Time is of the essence. I will NEVER shop at this company again, if it's the LAST place on earth! I ordered an alligator decoy to keep ducks out of the pool. It did not work as the ducks perched right next to it. Therefore, I took the proper steps by calling in a return request, got the shipping label, shipped it back promptly in its original packaging. I even took pictures of the ducks next to the decoy in the pool. They are now telling me that my return is unacceptable and will not issue a refund because the item was used! How else would I find out that it does not work if it wasn't used to prove that it indeed IS DEFECTIVE??? Horrible, HORRIBLE service!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! read more
