Food is awesome! Have tried multiple items but my favorites are the grilled chicken sandwich and cheese fries! Most places use regular shredded cheese for cheese fries but here they use actual melted cheese. Which I love! And They're not chy with the cheese. read more

Beyond thrilled with the vegan options at this location. We decided to order through Uber eats. We got the vegan Sicilian pie, vegan ravioli Parmesan, and vegan Stromboli. Everything was so good. We've traveled often and tried lots of vegan food, but this was definitely one of the best vegan Italian spots we've tasted. We couldn't believe the freshness, flavor, and homemade taste. I was starving and I saw this pizzeria while waiting at the traffic light across the street. They have pretty solid pizza here. I went with the margherita and the buffalo chicken slice. They didn't have a ton of options for slices but that is better than having pizza sitting out there for hours. I liked the crunch of the crust although I would have liked it heated up more. The buffalo chicken slice wasn't too heavy either. The margherita slice was also a solid option. Pretty straightforward spot. I am caught between a 3-4 star review but I will go with 4 stars since I am feeling nice today. read more

This is my local pizzeria. My husband and I usually order the large pizza, wings and a 2 liter soda combo and usually stuff ourselves until we hate ourselves. While i think the pizza is a little doughier than what I would consider the "perfect" pizza it is still pretty good. The service is great and they are always extra friendly. The regular pepperoni pizza is usually good. Gotten calzones, Stromboli's and meals , pretty good for a neighborhood delivery. However first time ordering a Sicilian pie, it was awful. Tonight in honor of my partner's birthday, he wanted pizza from a place that we haven't been before around Market Street. With the assistance of Yelp, we decided on this place. Located in a strip mall, I have heard about this pizzeria from a friend who have eaten here many years ago. As there isn't any indoor or outdoor dining due to the coronavirus, I placed an order for pickup via Grub Hub which was fairly easy of a traditional pizza pie with mushroom and mozzarella sticks with extra sauce as an appetizer. We arranged to have this ready by 615pm. We arrived a bit early to the location but didn't go into the pizzeria until 620pm. When I entered the establishment, I was greeted by a staff and our order was ready at the counter. Arriving home, the pizza was still hot as well as the mozzarella sticks. The sticks weren't greasy and the accompanying sauce was okay. The pizza was just okay and didn't really have any wow factor. I had to add some of the marinara sauce from the sticks to spice it up. Awesome linguini with meat sauce! I came in a half hour before closing to grab some take out for my husband who is in the rehab place near by. My husband didn't like the dinner he was served. I had forgotten I was to this place a few years ago. Last time we ate in and my meal was great but my husband's was a disaster. I remember thinking how do I review a place when two people sitting at the same table had such different experiences. I ended up forgetting to write a review. For about $15 I got a whopping portion of pasta with meat sauce and hunk of pizza bread which fed both of us. So good that nothing was left and we were really surprised at how good it was for late night take out. There was plenty of meat in the sauce which my husband soaked up with the bread, nothing was wasted. It tasted like I will be ordering this same dish again in the future. My husband reminded me last time he issue was the service not the food so seriously order the take out! It was that good. read more

This place used to be fantastic until it changed hands. Now it's just called Donna's and the service is lackluster to say the least. Placed a pick up order for 3 sandwiches and 3 salads. Get back and one salad is missing. Call in and have them deliver it and they didn't even get the salad right. Should have been simple as it was a grilled chicken garden salad with no onions. I have been ordering from Donna's for at least the past ten years of my life. Never once in those 10 years have i walked away disappointed or unsatisfied. The pizza here is just remarkable, the dough is just so fluffy and airy and it always leaves me feeling full. The wife and I found this place on Restaurant.com and decided to give it a try based on the reviews I found there. The first thing I will say is that while it is a pizzeria/restaurant the restaurant dining room is completely separate from the pizzeria portion which gives it a nice feel. We arrived at around 7:20 this evening (Saturday) and were seated within a couple of minutes. Just had to wait for the staff to clear and set a couple of recently vacated tables. We started off with our beverage and appy order. A coffee for the Mrs and a Pepsi for me. and we decided on the Chicken Fingers appy. The beverages were served quickly at which time we put in out entree orders, the Cavatelli Arrabiatta off the specials menu for the wife and the Veal Parm with Angel-hair for me along with a side of meatballs.. Things started down hill from there. As we watched the folks who were direct behind us on entering being served their entrees, our appy of simple chicken fingers was still nowhere to be seen. Some minutes later our server brought out the Chicken Fingers and when asked, apologized for the delay. Sometime later, again after watching yet another table of people who arrived and were seated well after us receive their entrees, we were still looking at an empty table. When our entrees finally started to arrive, they did so piecemeal. First my wife's Cavatelli Arrabiatta arrives, But that was all that arrived. She was about a third done by the time my Veal arrived. And when I say veal, that's what I mean. I got a plate with 2 pieces of veal on it . No pasta. About 5 minutes later when the server's assistant comes over and asks how everything is, I say I don't know as I STILL don't have the pasta for my meal. A few minutes after that the owner (I think) shows up with the pasta and my meatball. I think the issue here was more one of a problem in the kitchen than with the wait staff. Clearly there were issue of prep management and knowing how to have meals for a table ready to good at the same time. As for the food itself. it was fine. The Chicken Fingers were actually quite good and my wife enjoyed the Cavatelli Arrabiatta. My veal was OK. Not the best I have ever had but hardly the worst. And it was actually veal, not that veal-like substance that some places try to pawn off on their customers. Unfortunately, it was mostly cold by the time I got to eating it after waiting for the pasta The pasta itself was pretty good, cooked perfectly. And finally the Meatball. Now I will preface this by explaining that the Meatball Side dish is listed twice on the menu. It is listed first with the other separately available sides for $4.95 and again under the "Baked Dish" section where it advises that a Meatball or Sausage Side can be had for $2.50 with one of the baked dishes, of which the Veal Parm was one. So I ordered the Add-on to sample the meatballs. What I got was a (1) meatball, cut in half and placed on top of the pasta. The meatball itself was OK although I thought it could stand a bit more seasoning, and it was of a decent size, still, $2.50 a meatball seems a bit excessive to me. The bottom lines here are this. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The place was clean and well lit. The portion sizes for everything except the meatball we quite large. In fact half of both meals were wrapped up to take home. The food was "OK" and I probably would have given the place 3 stars if it weren't for the terrible timing of the food service. I am up in the air about returning. If we do, it will likely not be on a weekend night. We may go back and see how their kitchen handles things on a slower, week night. But at this point, I just do not know. read more

This is my favorite pizza place in the area. The prices on the higher side for where I live, but the food is worth it. There are a couple of small things I don't like. For one, they only have one pizza size. This can be frustrating if you are a single person or a couple, and don't want a lot of leftovers. Second, I don't care for their salads. The only lettuce is iceberg, they aren't especially fresh, and come drenched in oil. If you do want a salad, you might want to ask for dressing on the side. Finally, I am a huge fan of Italian soups, and Donnagio's can be very hit or miss. The pasta fagioli is ok, but not the best in the area. The tortellini embrodo is not very good at all. But, their specials soups (which you have to ask which is available on a certain day) are very very very good. The escarole and bean is amazing. The Italian wedding is very good. Also, the bread that comes with soups is just baked pizza dough, and is decadently delish! Those issues aside, the food is really very good. The pizza is the best in the area, the subs are good (though there are Italian deli's nearby that make better subs), and the pasta dishes and calzones are great. The calzones are huge--easily a meal for 2 or even lunch for 3. All the portion sizes are very large. The appetizers are also really good. My favorites are the fried calamari and the muscles marinara. The calamari is, in my opinion, the best in the area. read more

I tried a chicken parm and a slice one night to see what all the hype was about after seeing constant menus at my doorstep and local ad's. Chicken parm was stuffed and pretty good, nothing too crazy, good flavor for a typical Italian sandwich from a pizza spot. The slice I tried was just ok, I'd probably opt to hit another pizza spot in the area. Definitely overrated/overpriced, you can get just as much for a lot cheaper across the st at mr brunos who's been there forever IMO and I don't even prefer them really but financially and locally I would if I didn't more options nearby. I will give them credit to having some unique menu items though but nothing too crazy just different. read more

But if you are willing to spend all the cash you have in your wallet then definitely go here. And they get you with the subs since they only sell small/regular ones during lunch. Placed order by mistake, tried calling and canceling 2 minutes later, unable to cancel order. Food arrived within the 20 minute estimated window. Driver was friendly and courteous. The fried calamari was soggy and rubbery. The pan pizza crust was soggy as well and the cheese slid right off, nearly impossible to keep on the slice while eating. This is just an all around great pizza place. Everyone is family friendly and you feel at home when your here. I never had something I didn't like. The fried calamari is always cooked perfect and the muscles are the best around. The salads never fail to impress me and they use the best ingredients for the pizza. tried them out for the first time tonight after trying across the board the saddle brook, NJ offerings of Pizza & Italian food. This food is very good, i ordered delivery they quoted 45 mins on a busy saturday night primetime and got here in 30 mins. Michelangelo from TMNT approved. I ordered a white pie with tomato and garlic a college staple from my past, as well as Eggplant Parm, which came with some grated parmesean cheese in a ramekin (an appreciated first) and a quarter of hot crusty flaky REAL round bread, not that delivery roll stuff, but real bread for real dipping. Pizza and Parm were both equally good, I like their red sauce too. Pasta cooked perfectly. The white pie was generously adorned with both good cheeses not too much garlic and tomatoes used were tasty. I will try calamari and a sub and salad next time. in the past 2 year Donnagio's has gone completely downhill. inedible, gross old oil tastes. soggy pizza, undercooked calimari even moreso if you OFFEND the "chef" by asking for well done pizza its basically not even cooked when it arrives. they no longer give anything complimentary like bread and parm cheese, while at the same time their prices have gone up. delivery drivers are clueless, and dont even have GPS in this day and age to deliver to a regular. read more

So I work in the Saddle Brook area - been here for years. I have tried every pizzeria around - Frank's, Bruno's, Mario's etc. I can tell you that the owners of those restaurants universally hate Donnagio's because they came in about 5 years ago and took over the town. And while I'm thrilled they did, I would venture to say that most of the negative things on here about Donnagio's are planted from people who work at the other places. The pizza is the best around. I would place Frank's a distant second, and Bruno's and Mario's in the "don't bother" category. I prefer the square Sicilian pizza, but the round pizza (especially the chicken parm pizza and the white with spinach) is awesome. I also enjoy the food - and they make their own bread which is ridiculously good. The sauce is very good (I'm more of a straight tomato sauce guy rather than a pink sauce person, but both are very good). The staff is friendly, but busy. If you're going to be so concerned about how friendly the phone girl is at any pizzeria while ordering on a friday night, you need to get a hobby. Also, I keep hearing people gripe about the prices. Their pizza and food is right around the same price as everyone else's pizza - give or take a quarter. And it's better. So, if you don't want to spend the quarter on better food, stay home and thaw out some pizza bagels! read more
