Dr. Asilli is a compassionate and outstanding podiatrist but the doctors/administrators who seem to run his office now are not. I saw wonderful Dr. Asilli for decades and most recently he refurbished my orthotics -- for which I was required to pay up front. Two and a half years later I still receive a bill for the full amount I paid from another doctor in his practice. Whenever I call, the receptionist acknowledges the mixup, politely promises to straighten it out with the billing office and call me back but I never hear from her. The billing office never answers when I try to follow up. My husband, also treated about two years ago by a different doctor, is in a similar endless loop. He had what turned out to be athlete's foot. Regretably, I talked him into seeing Dr. Mizuo, assuring him if he worked with Dr. Asilli he must be good. Dr. Mizuo put him on heavy antibiotics with uncomfortable side effects. They didn't work and he gave him another prescription that turned out to be over-the-counter cream.

Next time you go, and you won't find a better office to go to for your feet, look at what she does. She has to put up with us, answer the phone, make phone calls for Dr. Ohora, get us to an exam room and get him anything that he needs to take care of us. A very kind doctor. She managed to remove the problem part of the nail without making it look disfigured. When I called to inquire, they said there was no warranty, and a year was the typical lifetime of an orthodic, and I should make an appointment to have the doctor evaluate if the orthodics could be repaired or if I would need to purchase a new pain. I then called the company who actually made the orthodic, Northwest Podiatric, and was assured the devices came with a 2 year warranty against breaking and I should simply be able to drop them off at the office, no need to pay for a visit, that the office just had to give them my device ID (which I have) and they would make a new pair from my previous cast. This is not the first time I felt Family Foot & Ankle overcharged for service. When I went in a year ago, Dr Goldberg gave me a walking boot then billed $400 for the device. I looked up the unit online and found the exact same boot from the manufacturer only cost $80. I brought the unit back to the office but they refused to take it back or lower the billed cost. I even wanted to purchase a brand new unit and give it to them packaged but Dr Goldberg refused. On top of all this, I found it frustrating that I had to schedule an appointment with the same specific doctor (I was not allowed to change) and he was only available at a specific office one day a week. Every time I visit (initial, follow-up with general treatment, and follow-up with specific treatment) I always get to see and talk to Dr. Schwartz. Appointments don't take too long, however, I'm never rushed, can ask as many questions as I need, and she explains everything is detail. She's extremely thorough and kind (which is a nice touch when you're experiencing pain or discomfort). When I called the office for my MRI results I received a call back from Dr. Schwartz within 5 minutes. I should also note how WONDERFUL the rest of the office is, from the front desk to the nurses. I've only visited the Wisconsin Ave office which is in a large office building with other practices. Parking is $5 for the first hour and I've never needed more than 1 hour.
