I lived in southern italy for 2 years (many years ago) as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've had my share of panini. While on vacation I came here on Sunday feeling a panino but unfortunately it was closed (respect!). On Monday, I returned and was ready to order a simple prosciutto and bufala mozzarella panino. As the shopkeep was preparing it, I inquired about this small tub of what seemed to be ricotta in his deli. He told me it was a special type of bufala cheese called "carciufula" (I didn't write it down but I wish I did, because I can't find anything online about it). He said he only received shipment of it once a week and Monday was the only day he sold it. I chose the "carciufula" instead and he didn't charge me any extra. Maybe 6-7 Euros for a panino with prosciutto crudo, "carciufula," and tomatoes. This was the best sandwich I ever ate, or at least certainly the Best Monday-only Sandwich I ever had!!!! I wish I found the place sooner than my last day in the area and I wish I would have remembered the name of the cheese better, because I'm sure it's dialect and I'm totally butchering it :).
TL;DR - If you're around on Monday, don't make the bonehead mistake of missing this place!
