    Knotty Oar

I was so surprised that there had not been a Yelp review on Knotty Oar previously. This place is…read moregreat!!! We found it 7 years ago when we were looking to rent a pontoon to take some out of town people out on a boat. From the onset the staff was friendly and helpful (we are not experienced boaters), the website for rental was easy user-friendly, the boat was new and beautiful. I would highly recommend Knotty Oar if you are looking to rent in the future. After our wonderful experience renting a boat, we decided we should buy a boat and move to Prior Lake. Knotty Oar has done an exceptional job of servicing, maintaining and storing our boat for the last 5 years. As noted above we were not experienced boaters, Knotty Oar was always there to answer our questions* not just about our boat, but the lake, etc... they have gone over and above to serve our needs. They have found solutions and made things work for their customers and always with a friendly happy to help approach. Knotty Oar could teach a class on customer service. Knotty Oar also gives back to the community with various activities: Rockin' on Reeds, cleaning up the lake, Capable Partners (making fishing accessible) Bowl Hole Fundraiser, to name a few. Going into Knotty Oar reminds me of being up north when I was a little girl- they sell gas, snacks, boat/boating supplies, fabulous apparel. *Everyone at Knotty Oar has been so great, but a special callout to Larry and Travis.

The Law Offices of Julius & Shaughnessy

I had some bogus protection orders against me prior to obtaining Deb Julius. My ex Wife tried to…read morecreate a situation in which her new husband from the affair and her would raise my daughter, without me in the picture. Under Deb, I had a protection order extended from contacting an "un protected party". Which I was charged almost $700 just for 8 min in front of the judge. This law firm is very familiar with protection orders, as it is strictly family law. Somehow, Debra needed to bill me $700 for the night prior due to research. After complaining about this, and Only after firing her, I then received $350 back. Her approach was an indifferent one, in which she does not want to combat the issues, for me, I have PTSD from war, and my ex would claim fear and kept my daughter away from me via OFP's. Deb just simply wanted me to assume all the lies that were being portrayed and move forward saying "He's been through therapy, he's reformed, let him see his daughter". She never went to bat for me showing the 9 protection orders that were dismissed prior. I am required by law to report my children to Social Security, so she may receive derivative benefits. And I am required by law to carry insurance. Both of those were viewed as 3rd party contact, and my ex-wife tried to have me jailed each time. (In which, Deb yet again failed to even attempt to view this as harassment and go to bat for me.)Draining more of the ridiculous amount of money being charged! The protection order was up, July 2018, with a stipulation of seeing a reunification counselor. Deb, let my ex wife stall that process out over 8 months! Thus waiting even longer without my daughter. Get this, once an order was drafted, she picked a therapist that does not accept insurance, and the order stipulated I pay $220.00 a session for myself AND my daughter. After speaking with the counselor, it was considered an atypical order, BOTH parents should pay for the child therapy, as in this case it will drag out for God only knows how long with the mother paying $0.00. Which is exactly what she wants. I called the Law Firm, not to speak with Deb Julius, but to leave a message for the secretary FOR Deb. Here's the conversation: Me: Hello, My name is Tony and whom am I speaking with? (Unbenounced to me) Ms. Shaughnessy (the only other lawyer in the firm in Prior Lake, as the secretary was on lunch): What do you need!?! Me: Again my name is Tony, whom do I have the pleasure of speaking with? Ms. Shaughnessy: I said what do you need!?! Me: I don't need anything, Deb Julius is my lawyer, but it's common courtesy to introduce yourself, I've done that, why won't you introduce yourself? Ms. Shaughnessy: The secretary is on lunch, I don't take messages, click. Very unprofessional, which was the only actual time I had ever spoken to the other lawyer. In short, if you want a passive, money driven firm, by all means. This Combat Disabled Veteran on limited income feels betrayed! And never once did I ever feel as if she was going to bat for me, as I was being bullied and manipulated by the ex wife!
