It is not only unevenly cut but dyed too. Now i have gray highlights and brown roots.
    Amy L.

She did not acknowledge that it was her skill that caused this streaking and kept blaming my hair for not absorbing the dye. She offered to dye it black which will ruin my hair even more. I don't even know what dye they used to ruin it to this state. There was no apology and no understanding. I am very disappointed. The color is a mess, the haircut is uneven (not even the layered hush cut i asked for) and even their service is horrible.

Authentic charm and skilled service in Chinatown! I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a hair salon in Chinatown, and although I didn't get my haircut by Lily as most reviews mention, I was pleasantly surprised by the expertise of the older Asian gentleman who took care of me. Despite not replicating the exact style from the photo I showed him, he crafted a personalized version that suited me perfectly. What struck me most about this place was its authentic vibe - customers blow-drying their own hair and even lending a hand in sweeping the floor while waiting for their turn. It felt like a community hub, reminiscent of home. Overall, my experience was great. The older gentleman's craftsmanship was commendable, and I left feeling satisfied. I'll definitely be returning for my next haircut. Paid $80 for haircut and highlights Tip: Park underground at New High St & Alpine. Convenient and affordable at around $3 paid on the machine.

Thanks Lily for my hair. Amy Babaev here

Lily is a pro in hair color and layered haircut. Worth it traveling to downtown to see her.

PLEASE DONT GO TO THIS SALON it's cheap but it's not worth it . Everyone was rushing so that they can take a lot of clients

Please please please don't go to this salon. Yes it will save you money but it's not worth it . When she put the hair color in my hair it was burning and irritated .had a severe headache and she made me dry my own hair like I've never seen or experienced this in my entire life. This is the worst salon ever. I NEED THE OWNERS NUMBER OR CONTACT INFORMATION!!!My whole head is super dry and since its very irritated my whole head is flaky

A work colleague of mine recommended this place and although it's quite a distance from me, I thought I'd checked it out. At first I was hesitant when I first arrived coz they hardly speak English not that it's an issue but it's just that I'm trying to explain how I wanted my hair cut and most importantly, the color that I wanted. I opted for a balayage and much to my surprised Lily (hairdresser) got what I wanted. The only thing that I don't like was the waiting, it's on a first come first serve basis and each time there's a new client that comes in, they would take it. They are not solely having you as per time. So, you'll end up being there for hours and hours for a simple color, cut and blow dry. The price is very reasonable

Dong Kinh is a place to get haircuts for cheap in Los Angeles. Although 10$ might not be super cheap, they cut my hair perfect every time. The lady that owns the place is a sweet woman with a Vietnamese accent. She's really nice and does an excellent job at cutting hair. I'd like to say they cut and prepare hair well better than supercuts, fantastic Sam's and great clips. Although there is a barber near Santa clarita that used to be 11$, they rose to 12$ and they used to be considered really cheap. For women, they prepare hair better than most places in Santa clarita where I live but it costs quite a bit in the 40-50$ range for an hour of quality preparation and straightening for bushy split ends. The environment is filled with Asians and other surrounding hair salons are not even close to being this crowded. The woman's husband is also a barber, but does not become personable to the customers and is antisocial. There are five to six other barbers and they not only been working here for years, they are pros and cut hair very quickly. You may be intimidated by the line on the outside, but the line moves quickly. The location is close in a narrow corridor next to many different locked up jewelry shops possibly due to so many thefts that have occurred in the past. I feel that this place is more on the dangerous side because of the accumulation of many homeless people, so be aware of that. I would suggest trying to avoid them and ignore them as you walk by. In conclusion, the salon caters mainly to women, but men should come by as well because they put an exceptional amount of effort in making your haircut clean and elegant for a moderately low price. The only issue I mainly have is the line and the smell inside. I feel that the smell of hair all over the place has been effecting my lungs.

    Cheap cuts on the corner!

Friendly barbershop at a cheap price! Arrive early to bypass the wait and make sure to bring cash for the payment. They take walk-ins, which is a plus. I was looking for a place that was affordable and knew how to cut my hair without me giving too much direction. Not only did this place come out to a cheaper price than most barbershops, but my barber was able to cut my hair perfectly without asking any questions after I showed him a photo of what I wanted my hair to look like. Again, come in early, because if you come in later, you may be waiting for awhile if you want a specific individual to cut your hair. The staff was very kind and everyone, including the customers, seemed to be in a great mood.

The service was terrible. It was rushed and they didn't listen to my preferences. Instead, the old lady yelled at me for specifying what I wanted because they said they're experienced and know what they're doing. The hair dresser was careless and the hair dryer kept hitting my head. I didn't comment anymore after being yelled at and was unsatisfied with the results. They also gave me a rash/cut at the back of my neck. The picture is from a couple days later.

My mom recommend this play. I had an appointment with Lily to do some bleach ing and highlights and I really love it. The price was really cheap! I would definitely come back.

Through the non-profit "Children with Hair Loss" Du Japon Hair Club was vetted for donations and is the only approved salon in the Los Angeles area. I met Yuki, who owns and operates this salon and also one of the best stylists I've had in my years of barbers. She is so nice and explained the process of the donation and also provided guidance on selecting the best hair cut for me. After looking at a few photos, I decided to go with a moderate cut to ease back into the general population. I was so happy with the results and would recommend Yuki to any of my friends. She will only take appointments and is the busiest during the weekend. I would recommend calling well in advance for your appointment, as she works generally towards the end of the week through the weekend.

Yuki should have warned me that my hair was too fine for this process instead of taking my money to ruin my hair. If she is so experienced and so great she should have known better and know that the process she was doing would ruin my hair. This is my warning to others that are going here to have straightening done. Don't rely on her to tell you it's not right for your hair. To top it off when I called to tell her she did not apologize, she did not act as though she felt bad her response was not caring at all. Not to mention she didn't offer any advice or a refund. Now it will take me years to get my hair healthy and I'm so upset.

I found Anya on Reddit and came in on a nice Sunday to get a curly cut from her. She was super comfortable doing my hair and talking to me about what I wanted, and even made suggestions that went along with what my endgame was. I essentially told her I wanted to keep my bangs and my face framing little hair tendrils, and she can do what she wanted with the rest! From there, she asked questions such as how heavy my hair feels regularly/the last time I got it cut, if I like my hair to have volume or sit the way it is and mimicked with my hair how both versions looked, made observations and suggestions on where we could go. Honestly, this was the best experience I've had! She thinned out a lot of my hair as well since it gets pretty heavy for me, gave me a nice shape and my hair more personality, and even layers on the back to make everything more cohesive! Frankie was my wash tech (is that what they're called?) and she was great to talk to about books! She was also very cautious on making sure the water was just right for my scalp.
