Davids Plumbing - Installed

Davids Plumbing

DJ saved the day - and my garden!…read more I don't often recommend contractors publicly, but David's Plumbing absolutely earned it. I recently had my water service line replaced from the meter to my house. During the project, David discovered that the boring contractor hadn't installed the new line deep enough to meet code. It would have been easy to work around it, trench through my landscaping, or simply let it go--but instead, he advocated for me. He stood his ground, insisted the boring company come back and do the job correctly, and ultimately saved me from ending up with a substandard installation. That decision cost him an entire day's work while everyone waited for the boring company to return, but he still put doing the job right ahead of simply getting paid and moving on. To top it off, when the project was finished, his final invoice came in below the high end of the estimate he had originally given me. In a world where it's common to brace yourself for surprise costs, that was a refreshing experience. If you're looking for a plumber who is knowledgeable, honest, and willing to advocate for his customers instead of taking the easy way out, I can wholeheartedly recommend David's Plumbing. Integrity like that deserves to be recognized.

I asked Locke Supply for a locally owned reputable plumber and was referred to Ortiz Plumbing…read more Edwin was unavailable so he sent his father Marco. Marco advised to determine the cause of the problem, the concrete floor would have to be busted up almost the length of my house. I declined, asked him to run the snake again and for a referral to a plumber with hydro jetting capability. Marco replied he knew of no one. He said he'd already put his tools away and it cost $245 every time they climb onto the roof. I asked him why he didn't first consult with me before putting his tools away? That if he must charge me again, then do it because we both were there at that moment in time. He did so and charged me $650 which I thought was exorbitant, as I'd had drains snaked before and it never cost more than $200. I consulted with others who'd had their drains snaked and they agreed I'd been seriously overcharged. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I'd been excessively unreasonably charged. I requested $245 back and was given $200, which according to Google, still exceeded "the average cost to snake a drain which ranged from $100 to $275 for a simple clog in a household fixture (sink, toilet, tub)." The problem returned within a month and now I'm facing even more money. Again I consulted Google for a plumber with power jet capability near me, saw there were several and currently await a return call for an estimate. May all of you Yelp! readers have healthy plumbing but if ever it gets sick, ask questions first before anyone climbs onto your roof.

Highly highly recommended. They were wonderful to work with. We were seeking a knowledgeable…read moreplumber to install our new sink basin, faucet, garbage disposal, and RO filter. We shopped around for install prices and NO ONE quoted us anywhere close to what Hicks quoted - and Hicks stuck to their quote price. A friend recommended this business so we called to get started. Christie called me back the next day to let me ask some questions and they also had a texting line, which was great for sharing photos as needed. We were scheduled with JJ rather quickly and he did wonderful work. He showed up on time and was personable but still dedicated to his work. I felt comfortable with him in my home and he was mindful of my dog during loud work. He cleaned up after himself and was timely on any errands he had to run to get more parts or tools. He let us know that the countertop was getting a little soft and that in the coming years, we should consider getting them replaced and I appreciated that knowledge being shared. When finished we paid and he said to call back if anything leaked or if we had any issues. If we need more work in the future, we will be calling! Thank you Christie & JJ!

He cleaned the unit and filters after replacing the needed part to make sure our unit was running efficiently. He even discussed how we can plan for the future since our unit is on the older side. 100% disabled vet here with a toilet crisis. I'm in a power wheelchair and only have access to one…read moretoilet in my house, which you probably guessed it, I clogged. Clogged to the point where the stoppage was laughing at my plunger saying, "I'm not going anywhere." Then came Ernie with SOL to my sh***y rescue, quite literally. He was very professional and friendly and quickly diagnosed my problem--two plus years of Dude Wipes flushed down the drain. Toilet auger, drill and five minutes later and the clog was defeated. The price also, for a professional plumber, was quite reasonable. Thanks Ernie! John

**CHECK ATTACHED PHOTO EVIDENCE**…read more The following was my Google review of S.O.L.. If you'd like to know exactly what you'd have to deal with in case something went wrong, look no further. Enjoy. "Horrible service, bad installation job, and a shitty attitude, no pun intended. Initially, I thought perhaps he had a bad day, but the more I dealt with him, the more I realized he is as racist as they come! It's sad to see that such people still exist!! This dude changed a toilet and threw the old toilet in front of my house claiming that the city will pick it up, 10 days later I complained and he had to come back and pick it up. Do you want to guess what he did with it?? He dumped it behind my neighbor's house. When I complained to the management company about it, he claimed that he had permission from the neighbor, which he did NOT! A total lie that can easily be shown by talking to the neighbors. Which I did. Additionally, he messed up installing a toilet where the base is just freely moving and refuses to fix it, he didn't like that we discovered his bad job! Moreover he is pissed off that we didn't allow him to just leave the toilet behind in the neighborhood "TWICE"!!, which is something that he might be doing in his other jobs for those who are unfortunate to do business with him "check his work" even after he leaves the house. Check around the neighborhood and make sure he didn't leave garbage around your neighbors house. The guy simply doesn't want to do the job right! He's taking short cuts left and right, blaming everyone under the sun for his short comings just to get out of honoring the warranty he offered "CHECK ATTACHED SCREEN SHOT" So I'd take his 100% satisfaction guaranteed with a grain of salt. Please take the time to read his reply to this review. Ad hominem attacks at best (((SEE ATTACHED SCREEN SHOT OF HIS INITIAL REPLY))) It should show you the caliber of the individual you will deal with if things didn't go his way, or if you were of a race he doesn't like. Unfortunately. Remember, this happened inside my house where I may or may not have cameras in every corner. * The attached photos are from the time he dumped the toilet behind my neighbor's house. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY screen shots of his initial reply to this post which he changed because he realized messed up! I will keep watching the changes he makes and post screen shots to this post for your convenience. Just to show how sneaky he is, unfortunately. This is an honorable job and it can be treated as such.
