If you want 1st class service in a wedding planner, look no further than Monique Wisdom of Wise…read moreEvents and Design! Monique was the 1st person we hired. My fiancé and I had a lot on our plate, so we opted for her full planning service (HIGHLY recommend this option if possible). We found her through a personal recommendation from a wedding she did in Louisiana, THEN come to find out, my best friends brother who was getting married 2 weeks before us, had just hired her as well! I knew we mush have had the best of the best! And I was right! Monique was there every step of the way, from dress appointments/ suit appointments, cake tastings, venue searches... EVERYTHING! She didn't demand to go anywhere and was cool if there was space limits and she couldn't come. Her online portal was SOOOO helpful with keeping me on task from day 1 and was key in helping me to remembering what I needed to do, purchase, or inquire about. She has an extensive preferred vendor list, but if we wanted to look elsewhere, she looked into other options for me as well. She was prompt, timely and followed up with ALL vendors on our behalf! I was able to trust her with RSVP's, timelines, and pretty much everything. We just worked well together in general. She was also conscious of our budget. She let us know where we were being unrealistic, and where we were probably over budgeting. She really helped us execute our vision perfectly! Day of, she was the calm to my chaos. lol! We didn't have to worry about anything. I didn't find out about things that went wrong until after the wedding because she handled them on our behalf. She was intent on making sure we got EVERYTHING we asked for. She has a great team of assistants that helped day of. They kept of 400-person wedding flowing smoothly. Last minute, I was looking for cold sparks and dancing on a cloud and she was able to find one of her past clients who offered the service, was able to help me negotiate some things and get the service for us near our budget! She is worth every penny we paid and soooo much more! She was our first wedding investment and we definitely got top tier services!! I heard horror stories about brides and their planners, but Monique is AMAZING, even tempered, and truly a friend throughout the whole process!! If I could give 10 stars, I would! Dorjan and I are soooo proud to be a WED Couple! WE LOVE YOU, Mo!

Mr. Ramirez had an amazing ability to read the audience and know what would get them out on the dance floor. Before and during the wedding Mr. Ramirez was also very responsive to special requests and made sure he had all the music myself, man husband, and our guests wanted to hear. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in the Houston and nearby area.

It's funny how if you're wanting to book him for a BMW holiday party he is quick to respond and be polite, but to a bride trying to plan a wedding the customer service was horrible and unprofessional. We had an initial meeting to discuss our ideas for our wedding, timeline, location(s) and budget. Once we signed a contract, Hedi provided us with a rough timeline of all events/meetings throughout the time between Day 1 of Planning and the Big Day! She would check in monthly with the items we'd have to take care of, and then would assist us with scheduling appointments with trusted vendors, attend various appointments with us, and point us in the right direction. While I think we would have been able to plan a great wedding on our own, Hedi was there to provide professional direction, keep us within budget, and keep stress levels low! She exceeded our expectations and assisted us in planning an absolutely amazing and low-stress wedding! We wouldn't have been able to plan our wedding with the efficiency that she provided to us. I would highly recommend Hedi and Harper Events to anyone looking to plan a wedding or event in Houston (or elsewhere!)

You might wonder, why pay for a DJ when I can create my own playlists on an mp3 player and have…read moresomeone cue up the music for certain reception moments? Honestly, it might depend on reception site and family/friends. My reception site didn't have a sound system and our families were small/enough friends coming from out of town that we felt it would be easier to have a professional emcee the reception. This wedding vendor was recommended to me by my reception site. I really trusted my reception site and working with Rock n Robin was super easy. For our first meeting, he met me in the Galleria area and answered all of my questions pretty honestly e.g. I asked him about back-up equipment and all sorts of things I was told to ask by my internet wedding planner. I hired him in July for my April wedding and we kept in touch via email after that, as in, I would email him and he would respond within 48 hours. He recently revamped his site and it includes an online "jukebox" in which you can create and save your playlist, note songs you do not want played, and mark songs for special moments e.g. introduction of the wedding part, cake-cutting, etc. My fiance and I had a lot of fun planning out these little details! To get Robin himself, it'll cost ya almost double one of his employees. Thus, we went with one of his employees. He gave us Bryan who was great. The week before the big day, my FMiL called all vendors and gave them the number of their contact info for that day. Friday before the wedding, Bryan called his contact - not the bride or groom! - to ask a few questions about our playlist, while complimenting our music tastes. During the actual event, he took charge of keeping us on schedule and introducing the wedding party and keeping guests dancing. He even through in some classic Viet tunes for my family that I didn't even request! And he respected our do-not-play list. Rock n Robin was awesome, professional, and reasonably-priced. They were low-key and great to work with - I highly recommend them!
