Once home, I bit into a pocket of flavorful goodness! Oh my and that hot sauce!!! Yum!!! My only regret was not ordering more! I'd like to think they'd heat up pretty good in an air fryer. Idk but it's a good question for them next time. Or maybe sell frozen hahaha either way I hope they come back sooner than later, so I can try the Pork and others.

I ordered beef empanadas for my husband and a veggie empanada for myself. The veggie empanada had spinach and cheese, and it was a big portion. It was crispy and hot and came with a spicy sauce (I didn't need much of the sauce). My husband was impressed with his empanada too. He reheated one in the air fryer, and it tasted fresh a few hours later. The wait was worth it, and Empanada Cuisines sold out at our neighborhood. They post their schedule on Facebook, and I hope they come to Street Food Finder soon so I can track them down easily.

Their locale is small with a few tables and chairs outside, and a bench with two stools inside. The owners have Argentinian roots and sell alfajores, smoothies, frappe's, milk shakes, and gelato. I've tried the passion fruit smoothie and the caramel milk shake. Both were exceptionally good, but definitely on the rich side! Their whip cream is also amazing! A drink here is easily the caloric equivalent of a whole meal! I loved it so much, I've returned. My sister got a dulce de leche frappe and enjoyed it! She thought it was a good mix of coffee and gelato. Bottomline: Freddo is a great place to get a sweet treat on King St! For my regular-size caramel milk shake, I paid about $14.69 (with tax and tip)--definitely not cheap, but a smaller (and cheaper) size is available.

The staff was very nice and our server was excellent. We wanted to sit outside and enjoy the fresh coastal air and they offer a few small tables right out front. They also have a large back patio, but for some reason it felt 10 degrees hotter back there so we opted for the out front. It's sort of Colombian-fusion cuisine with the side sushi menu and I had to go for it. Both rolls were about an 8/10, but unfortunately but husbands pork belly bowl was a mere 5/10 if that. The pork belly was very hard and tough and not a whole lot of flavor. Great ambiance, but if we were to come back we would definitely order and try other menu items.

The breading was so flaky which was nice, but I wish it had more filling. Once you bite into the empanada a lot of it was pretty much an air pocket. Both were great, just as they were the other few times I've been here. The chimichurri sauce is good too. Though the empanadas are already flavorful by themselves. They have desserts too, which I'm so tempted to try... But next time. Sales person is friendly, service is quick, empanadas are always warm with the perfect level of flaky crispness in each bite.

Pollo Loko - North Charleston, SC…read more The wife and I stopped into Pollo Loko for a quick lunch, not expecting much... and wow, what a surprise this place turned out to be. First off, the customer service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel appreciated from the moment we walked in. You don't always get that kind of attention these days, so it really stood out. The restaurant itself was spotless, well-kept, and had a great vibe. You can tell they take pride in the place. Now let's talk about the food -- because this is where they really shine. We started with the empanadas, which were absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. For our main, we ordered the Peruvian chicken, served with fries and rice, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired incredibly well with their signature sauces -- seriously, those sauces take everything to another level. Even the salad was fresh and tasty, which says a lot because that's usually an afterthought at most places. On top of that, they've got a great selection of sodas and other drinks, making it a perfect stop for a casual lunch. Bottom line: An unexpected gem with amazing food, top-tier service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. **Highly recommend -- 5 stars, 3 thumbs up from us.

A bit pricy too...the rice and beans that come with this are just average. They only had 2 salsas for the table, a green ranch like one and a red spicy one similar to a spicy Mexican red sauce. I'm still looking for a peruvian restaurant that has the spicy green sauce that most all peruvian restaurants have in California.
