This has been my favorite restaurant for years now, but that all changed recently. The original big bowl of taco salad with the ring of warm chips around it and hot chili is no longer. I ordered the taco salad tonight and got a little tray of lettuce with maybe a tablespoon of dry hamburger and garnished with some chip crumbs. It was tasteless! For $11, it was probably the worse taco salad that I've had anywhere. We will not be going back. read more

Taco salads have been changed too much. They use to be a bed of lettuce with cheese, tomatoes, onions, olives, and chili with beans and a side bag of chips. Now they have refried beans, Mexican rice, very little lettuce, cheese, salsa, onions and olives topped with crumbled chips. Tasted like a burrito in a bowl. We were out and about and decided to go get food somewhere and go eat at the park since we hadn't been to Don Pedro's for many years we thought we'd give it a try. We went inside to order to avoid the long drive thru line. The menu is extensive with the standard tex-mex fare like nachos, tacos and burritos. The food prep area was a huge mess with cheese, vegetables and what not all over the counter and floor. The Nachos were outstanding but the tacos were just ok. I ordered an iced tea but it was soured so I had to pour it out and when I told the girls behind the counter they should probably dump it, wash the container and spout then replace the tea one girl just rolled her eyes the others just said oh. The girl who took our order was very friendly and super helpful however she was the only one, the others were dismissive bordering on rude. The parking is convenient and right onsite. Most of the dining area had clean tables and both restrooms were very clean. read more

I have never had an issue with my food or service here. Tonight. My husband and I went in to order take out. They were pretty busy and obviously training some new staff, so the wait time was a little longer than normal. I get that, I understand new people are a bit slower. I ordered my usual, beef and cheddar burritos. I get them home and there are beans on them. We called and wanted to have them replace the incorrect items, to which i would have returned, because ewww beans. They asked for our order number so they could look it up. Well apparently their employee entered beef, bean and cheddar burritos and because I got what I paid for they would not replace my incorrect items. That is not what I ordered!!! In absolutely no universe would I ever say I wanted beef, bean and cheddar burritos. Heck, they don't even sound the same. If I had gotten home and had just bean and cheddar, I could understand that a bit better. Beef and bean do sound similar. But no they decided I needed the extra ingredient by adding the bean to my ,beef and cheddar burritos. So we paid for burritos I did not order and would not eat, and had to go back and pay again for the burritos I would eat which is what I ordered in the first place. read more

I went through the drive-thru to order a burrito. While the staff was friendly, I saw them place my burrito in a microwave. The staff was really kind about offering a refund when I brought up the issue; However, as a suggestion, I would avoid trying to justify how the ingredients are fresh. In my opinion, using a microwave and fresh are not synonymous. If you're looking for a good restaurant, I would suggest traveling to either El Tapatio or La Familia. read more

Terrible. Just plain terrible. Ordered two of the same tacos yet they both had different toppings. One of them was practically inedible. I took a bite and it was nothing but salt. I was going to write out this huge numbered and bulleted diatribe about how the customer service was an assault on civilization as it is known today...and how the food was--I don't know how to describe it without being obscene--but then I stopped myself. ...because it all became apparent when I saw them put it in the microwave. They microwave their food and you can taste it. Just go to the Mobil and get one of those freezer burritos. This place is cold garbage. Their food is literally garbage. I hadn't been here in almost 6 years or so, but I had a fond memory of the food from that time. I fear that, perhaps, either my memory may have lost its edge over the years or the food is different from those days. I ordered 4 soft, corn shell tacos (2x the #15 to be exact) ... 2 with ground beef, 2 with shredded chicken (I was expecting cubed). They came topped with lettuce, guacamole, cheese, tomatos, and onions. I also had a side of chips and salsa, don't judge me. The ground beef tacos were decent enough, they were stuffed to the brim.. But at over $2 a piece, I do not feel I got quite my money's worth as most of it seemed to be toppings. But then... Then I picked up one of chicken tacos and my memories of this place were sullied for good. It immediately fell apart :( I attempted to carry on, but the taste of the shredded chicken was the nail in the coffin. It didn't taste like anything but old, reheated chicken. The hot sauce they provide was not very spicy, but it had a nice unique flavor to it. The salsa had a good flavor as well, but it was a bit bland. The saving grace of this place was the chips... They were crunchy and absolutely delicious! If I were to venture back here, maybe the next time my memory goes bad again, I will stock up on pounds pounds of chips. read more

Had 3 bad experiences in just under 6 months. Always get over cooked chips. The last time they reheated my rice and beans with my burrito in a styrofoam container. That is highly dangerous since it causes cancer. Then they served me a melted box. I was apalled. I will never eat there again. I used to enjoy this place, but not any more. I'll save the 2 plus dollars on heated tacos and go to taco bell for food that is the same quality. And less priced. read more

I really love the Works Nacho's first off now it goes downhill from here:( O.K. Scott do U really think it necessary to charge extra for items that come *with* the item ordered to have them put on side when it is built right then & there? How bout if U want one of your *tiny* lil containers of hot or mild sauce also charginging for these that used to come w/ items ordered at no extra cost? I would be embarrassed to do such a pricing on product that is either included or not even a pennies worth of sauce! Very disappointed & won't be back any time soon. U have & will continue to lose business which is sad since U are a locally owned business & owner. read more

OK, I realize this is not what you would go for if you want authentic mexican food, but its not that franchise mexican food either. Yes, they still put the tacos and burritos in the microwave to heat them and melt the cheese - which sounds like something that went out in the 80's, but its still good food. The chips and nacho cheese are the best, and they have a garden works tostada that is delicious! (and not microwaved). With beans, lettuce, guac, sour cream, onions, olives and cheese it is right on - it used to had bean sprouts too, but seems no one serves those anymore, which is sad, i always liked them. If your looking for taco bell keep looking this isn't the place. Its not authentic Mexican but but it is head and shoulders over the chain Mexican places. The shells and chips are made in house and they have a pretty God nacho platter. It is listed as an appetizer but my wife and I order them as meals and it does fill you up. All an all for a "fast food" taco joint it is pretty good. read more
