Just like Greenfield, you can tell it's a local favorite by the steady stream of customers. That's always a good sign, and the food absolutely lives up to the reputation. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and there was plenty of seating both inside and on the outdoor patio. The chocolate croissants are absolutely to die for--flaky, buttery, and worth every calorie. I ordered the huevos rancheros, and let's just say...they had some serious heat! But they were so incredibly flavorful that I couldn't stop eating them. If you love authentic food with a little kick, you'll be in heaven. Whether you're passing through King City or looking for a great place to grab breakfast or lunch, La Plaza Bakery & Café is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back! A great atmosphere for a friendly cup of coffee and pastry.

$36.29 with cash discount: Goat super burrito, steak quesadilla with handmade tortilla, and a side…read moreof beans. This place is a gem! The handmade tortilla on the steak quesadilla was spectacular. Seriously, the masa alone was worth the visit. It was fresh, flavorful, and had that texture you only get when someone actually knows what they're doing with a tortilla. I ordered the goat super burrito without rice. Normally, when I hear "super," I expect sour cream and guacamole, but mine didn't come with either. What it did have, however, was what seemed like double the meat. And I'm certainly not going to complain about that. The goat was beautifully stewed, tender, flavorful, and incredibly fresh. Actually, everything here tastes fresh. And that's because it is. Everything is made from scratch, and you can taste the difference. It took about 15-20 minutes from ordering to getting my food, which is completely reasonable considering everything is being prepared fresh, on the spot. There was no one else in the restaurant when I ordered, but that clearly doesn't mean this place isn't busy. It was Friday, and there was a steady stream of people coming through to pick up bakery orders. Everything in the bakery case looked amazing, and judging by the number of people coming in, I wasn't the only one who knew it. I'm just a little sad with my visit, because you can't really see into the kitchen. So I didn't get to watch the woman making the masa, mixing it between her hands with that effortless rhythm that makes you wonder how many years, or generations, it took to learn. A rhythm taught to her by her mother, who learned it from hers. Then watching her fold, shape, and press that masa would be like watching history become dinner. There was generations of tradition, technique, and love layered into something you get to hold in your hands and eat. This space is immaculate and it has soul and sol. My only reason for not giving it five stars is that everything is to-go. I really wanted to sit down and enjoy this meal right there instead of taking it with me. With food this good, handmade, and fresh, I would absolutely love to have a place to sit and savor it. Great food, handmade from scratch, generous portions, and a bakery that clearly deserves further investigation. This isn't just a place making food. It's a kitchen carrying something forward. And that's a pretty special thing.

The bakery is attached to the café, and you can actually watch the bakers at work through the large windows facing the street. Everything is unbelievably fresh--from sticky buns and chocolate muffins to cream cheese and raspberry-filled croissants. It's almost impossible to leave with just one treat! The made-to-order burritos and plates are outstanding. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and you can tell everything is made with care. The ladies at the counter are always warm, welcoming, and bilingual, so even if you don't speak Spanish, ordering is easy and comfortable. They make everyone feel right at home. Because it's so popular with the locals, there can be a line during busy times--but don't let that discourage you. The service moves quickly, and it's well worth the wait. The self-serve coffee is fresh and high quality, with fresh milk and all the fixings available.
