I've been here a handful of times, and I always have a consistently good experience. One of my favorite places in Victoria and one that I wish more people knew about.

I started off with one of their veggie burgers and it really had good flavor. It came with those old school crinkly fries and a pickled jalapeño to give the burger some zing. I have also tried their tortas and mini tacos with soyrizo and all pastor. All yummy and quite filling! I once got their gorditas with nopales and picadillo filling..mmm. I believe my recent order were birria tacos and I decided to try a brownie. Tacos were great and wow to the brownie I swear it is the best brownie I've ever had! It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect texture! Even my mom who normally doesn't like brownies when I gave her a piece said "mmm que Rico mija!" Oh I love their aguas frescos too! If they were a storefront i think I would go every day lol....You can't go wrong with this place it also leaves you feeling good!

I have been a customer of the Taco Fuego food truck in Katy for over a year and have always enjoyed…read morethe food and service. Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was so unacceptable that I will never return. When placing my order, the employee taking my order appeared intoxicated. His eyes were drooping and closing, he repeatedly paused, mumbled, and seemed to struggle entering my order. Although this was concerning, I chose to overlook it and waited patiently. After about 10 minutes, I simply returned to ask whether my order had been placed and if it was ready. I was not upset, in a hurry, or complaining. I only wanted confirmation that my order existed because the employee kept responding, "No orders, no orders," despite me showing him my receipt. Due to an apparent language barrier, I called my Hispanic husband and handed the employee my phone so he could ask the same simple question in Spanish. Instead of helping, the employee began yelling at my husband. Another employee joined in, and both started yelling while walking away with my phone. When the phone was returned, I still had no idea what had happened or whether my order was being prepared. The situation escalated for no reason. The employees began yelling at me, aggressively slammed the service windows shut, ignored me, and treated me as if I had done something wrong. I remained calm throughout the entire interaction and repeatedly stated that there was no problem--I simply wanted to know if my order had been placed. Eventually, the food was thrown together carelessly, shoved into a bag, and handed to me with obvious hostility. The food quality was terrible, and the customer service was even worse. What disappointed me most was that this entire situation was completely unnecessary. I was respectful, patient, and simply asking a basic question. The combination of an employee who appeared intoxicated, the aggressive and unprofessional behavior from both employees, and the poor quality of the food made this one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I cannot recommend this location and will not be returning.

I've gotten the food here a few times over the last few years but the service my wife received today was ridiculous and unprofessional. Antonio was present and can vouch for what happened. My wife approached, looked at the menu, and called for my order. At that time the man in the truck pulled the tip jar in behind the window and then moved away from the window when my wife tried to order. Another person (antonio) had to take my wife's order. Bad enough. After she ordered and went to wait in the car a hispanic young man arrived, the same guy put the tip jar back out and took his order with no issue. We won't be back. We go out of our way to support food trucks and the birria ramen is good enough. The guys in the truck are even fighting, slamming items, and throwing things at each other in front of customers. This is at 3:20 PM on June 16th. One of the guys is/was bleeding and this is just a bad day all around. The food is good, the meat is always savory and juicy. Really depends on who you get cooking. Either way I don't appreciate how my wife was treated and I want to believe this was just a bad day. Things to consider. Good atmosphere and solid food truck experience.

We follow the locals - we saw nuns from a nearby shrine eating here and, so shall we! They open at 6am and do A LOT of breakfast taco business, and close at 1pm to catch the lunch crowd. Picnic tables are scattered around for seating, and cold drinks in the fridge by the order window. I had the Street Taco Plate, which comes with 5 street tacos with 2 choices of meat. I chose barbacoa and carne al pastor, two of my barometers for a good taqueria. Both meats were delicious - the barbacoa was meltingly tender and moist - very slightly flavored with cinnamon and maybe allspice? Anyway - definitely get the barbacoa. Same advice for the carne al pastor - delicious marinated pork crisped on the flattop and generously spooned into doubled corn street taco tortillas - Add onion and cilantro, a spritz of lime and a little of either the red or green house salsa and ascend to taco heaven. My husband got the crispy taco plate - 2 crispy corn-shell tacos, one with carnitas and the other with carne al pastor. Carnitas were tender and so so porky and delicious - another excellent meat choice if you come. Both plates are served with homestyle Mexican rice and refried beans. Their meat choices are: pollo (stewed chicken), carne asada (beef steak), chicharron, carne al pastor, carnitas (roast pork) and Barbacoa. Picadillo (ground beef stew) and Carne Guisada (beef chile stew). 5 comida autentica como en su casa stars!!

A big key to their success has been staying open late every day of the week, till as late as 4AM on the weekends. They pride themselves on being among the best tacos in Houston (#1) and love to showcase their chilango pride. To find them, just look for the blue truck in the Route 66 gas station parking lot along Westheimer. It's easy to miss for first timers, especially since they're not the only taqueria on wheels in the vicinity. Usually there are folks huddled around the truck during lunch time but the crowd tends to dwindle after 11pm. The waits are minimal and the staff is bilingual and friendly. While the $1.50 tacos sound like a deal, they're actually the smaller, two bite taquito (#2) versions instead. I don't mind them, even though they can be had for a $1 just further down the road. Of course they serve more than just tacos, there are sincronizadas, gorditas, burritos, quesadillas, and even hamburgers. Their claim to fame are their tortas, but it should be noted that they also sell machetes as well. The fajita meat is tasty. They've got one of the better variations that I've had along this stretch in west Houston and I would say the same for their campechano. Chicharron is also solid, as is their tripe. Their chicken and barbacoa is decent, but a slight departure from the rest of their meat lineup. I am fairly certain it's cash only. There is no outdoor seating and most everyone is doing takeout. I say order a handful of taquitos, order a Mexican soda, and enjoy it nice and hot from the car. ___________ (#1) Per their truck: "Los mejores tacos de Houston") (#2) Or a mini taco.
