The lady at the Symetra Club entrance was very nice and explained everything to us. She was slow and methodical, recognizing my handicap, and even helped point out where the restrooms were during the first intermission. Her kindness had a lasting impact on my experience. Lastly, it was my friend's very first Kraken game, so her helpfulness made a great first impression for my buddy too.

This stadium features a U-shaped design and located right on the shores of Lake Washington. We've attended numerous Husky games have always had a great time. Staff members are cheerful and friendly. Concession stand prices are astronomical, which is to be expected. They do have a solid selection beverages and food. Tailgating and sailgating are time honored tradition at Husky stadium given the promixity to Lake Washington. Getting to the games is now easier with the light rail stop directly outside the stadium. Both Metro and Sound Transit have bus routes near the stadium. The most common strategy is to drive and park near or on University Avenue and walk through the UW campus. This stadium is convenient and a ton of fun.

What us out-of-towners don't know about this place is that David Denny, founder of Seattle, donated the land with a stipulation that it be of "public use forever." You can spend the day here and never get tired of what is around you. There area loads to see and just when you think you are done, nope. I had my camera with me and was able to fill my memory card with hundreds of pictures. Quite the tranquil place. Even if there might be tons of people milling about.

The only complaint is that when it started raining during the game, the rows closer to the front didn't have any cover while the ones further back did. There are some concession stands for food and shops if you want to buy UW gear. It was fun to enjoy the game on a nice day and it was a relaxing time.

I have over 20 years of memories coming here watching indie movies like Pirana, docuseries to Siff films. I also watched plenty of blockbuster films. My fondest memory is the smell of the popcorn that fills the front space. It is so distinct and the melted butter and grease on my fingers rubbed on my movie ticket is nostalgic. I love the indie vibe of the workers. It was a polite Seattle cool, depending on the era a little emo and punk, with some grunge. The attitude was very U District. I hope this theatre can raise the funds to fix itself up. It is one of my favorites and I hope it doesn't get boarded up. It still has so much life left.

At this point it felt like it's mostly dependent on personal preference so I decided to go in and find out. I thought the place is decent. The biggest attraction is that tickets are probably the cheapest in the area. Regular ticket price is around $16 for Seattle but it's $10 at Varsity (as of December 2023). And you get a dollar off if you're a student. Also you don't even have to buy the student tickets in person because you could just order them online (other places like AMC downtown, you have to go in person). I made sure to bring my student ID in case if they want to check, but it was never checked onsite. I think it's a little more shabby than AMC and other more commercial theaters, but it does its job. The movie started on time and there were no issue throughout the movie. I wish they could just shut off the ads before the screen turns on at starting time because you're facing a blue screen that shows nothing while the ad is blasting. On the other hand, I liked that there aren't that many previews to watch through to get to the actual movie I came to see. The bathroom is two flights up the stairs from the ground floor. It's well kept and smells ok, but they probably have to check the toilet paper inventory more often. By the time I went in, there were no toilet paper left at all so I didn't forget to inform the staff that before leaving. The staff was polite and accepted my remarks in good spirit.

The line was leading to a table where they were checking bags before walking past the security guard who had a metal detector wand. None of us had any bags on us so she turned to ask the security guard if we needed to stop at the table or if it's 2 separate lines. Before she could even say anything he snapped at her to get back in line. She backed up a step and apologized immediately and he responded with saying "Patience is a virtue." But his tone sounded so disgusted and intimidating. This security guard needs to be let go after seeing so many other people seemingly have the same experience with him. He was short, about 5'7. Dark hair pulled back in a ponytail with a hat on turned backwards. This interaction happened around 7 pm right as the show was starting on 09/25/2026. I wish this was the extent of our interactions with him. During the show the drag kings and queens were mocking Charlie Kirk and other republican politicians. That's clearly why we were all here and this security guard throughout the show was walking past us and monitoring us. Every time he passed us he looked super pissed off, like he wasn't happy with the show that was being put on. This was further proven to us when we left the show after it ended. We were waiting around the corner on the curb for our designated driver to pick us up. The same friend from before leaned down on the step above the curb and the security guard came out and told her to move because the door would swing open. But my friend was only leaning against the very edge of that step where there was a railing so the door wouldn't have come close enough to hit her. Then the security guard asked us in an extremely snarky tone if we enjoyed the... "thing." We said we did and he just looked pissed off. Then he went inside and slammed the door open on purpose and said in another snarky tone, "See! I told you so!" Other than that, we loved the show!! The drinks were super bomb and the venue seemed cozy. It was our first time at a drag show and we tried to have fun despite the nasty attitude of the short misogynistic predatory security guard.

You don't just watch a documentary on the school teachers in Chicago and their struggles with Charter schools you also get people who are running for school board to attend. Other times you could swear it was the 60's and the last of the Hippies are there but then the next week you watch Inlaws and Outlaws with the Director Drew Emery there telling you about his lackluster love life. Oh and here is the amazing part. Its FREE! Okay we usualy donate $4 for the coffee and cookies but still. No one ever needs to stay home and watch Nova alone or wonder what they can do that is different on a Friday night in Wallingford again.
