Large cheese meatball (singular) Jalapeño? Peppers.

I don't know how you managed to use 1 meatball to cover a large pizza? Christmas Miracle? My husband ordered a Large Cheese with Meatball(s) and Peppers. They only have Jalapeños? No Italian peppers, long hots, roasted peppers? Mama Mia! Staff was friendly.

This is a solid pizza joint and Italian restaurant that has been around for decades. There is a decent selection of toppings, good service, reasonable prices, and the pizza is tasty both hot and cold.

Good pizza in a very small town The place has a lot of history and you could tell the owner works very hard.

Unfortunately, the evening became a three-hour waiting game. We were seated promptly, ordered drinks and were off to a nice start. Then everything stalled. Our starters took nearly an hour, and our main courses arrived almost two hours after we sat down. We were patient at first, but eventually the relaxed pace simply became frustrating... more bread, another glass of wine and still no food. When it finally arrived, the food was delicious. The duck dumplings, onion tart, crusted lamb loin and corn agnolotti were all beautifully prepared. Michelle also did a great job on the service side, but the kitchen was painfully slow. What disappointed us most was the lack of hospitality. There was no meaningful apology, acknowledgment or real effort to make things right... and we were charged for everything. More bread and a pint of ice cream didn't address the situation. We left impressed by the food but deeply dissatisfied with the overall experience. The prices reflect a fine-dining restaurant, but the service and hospitality did not come close. At this level, excellent food isn't enough. Fine-dining prices demand a fine-dining experience... and this simply wasn't one.

While the entire meal started off with a salad, of course, the next appetizer was the tagliatelle Bolognese and the pasta was definitely the main star of the dish. I could tell that the pasta was homemade as it was very light and flavorful. The Bolognese itself was well balanced and not acidic. I chose the lamb for dinner and I was very happy with the port wine reduction, and impressed with the light compliment of the sunchoke puree. The herb crust executed on the lamb was extremely flavorful and not too earthy. While I was really going back-and-forth between the Seabass and the lamb I am happy. I chose the lamb for the main course. Panna cotta for dessert and I'm happy I chose a lighter option to fishing the evening. I feel like after all of the courses I had the Panna cotta really completed the meal. It was perfectly silky. I could tell the cream was delicately infused with lemon and the blackberry couli was a nice touch to add a level of flavor to the dessert which didn't overpower the panna cotta itself. Overall, I'm really impressed. Especially since I was in attendance with a large party. All of our dishes came out in a timely manner and were well spaced to really appreciate each dish. The cocktail menu and the wine selection was also very impressive and I feel like the amount of options were well balanced, many of which would complement each dish. Our service was great! The servers were friendly, personable, and very prompt with bringing out each dish. I especially appreciated how authentic each server was. The girls we had were especially helpful in assisting us in our selections in which options to choose off the menu based on their favorites. Overall, I would highly recommend coming to this restaurant if you want, authentic, flavorful, and delicious homemade Italian dishes. I can tell the chef puts time and effort into each plate not only in building these flavors but also presentation. Coming here, would be great for dates, special events, anniversaries, and to have a nice night out with the family, friends, and someone special.

Second visit for a family birthday last night and they exceeded our first fantastic impression…read more Service is unmatched. The feel is literally as if we are in a Tuscan farm home. There is not a more welcoming and comfortable place I can think of. The food backs it up - which is the main point. My only suggestion for first-time diners, perhaps ask your server if the chef will consider delaying courses a bit. In our group of four, we wanted to try/share 4 different apps and a meat and cheese board. Because of their dedication to a promptly and accurately coursed meal, all four apps and the boar all arrived at the time time (by design). Makes it really uncomfortable at the table with so many plates. But if that's my only gripe - that's all you need to know. This Is A Must Go!!! My favorite restaurant around.

The people…read moreat the farm suggested that we go into Litchfield for a variety of eating choices, and they were right! What drew us to di Franco's was the lovely patio out front, with lots of round tables shaded by bright umbrellas. We weren't looking for an Italian meal necessarily, it was lunch on a hot day rather than a leisurely evening dinner, and diFranco's has a pretty decent selection of sandwiches and salads for lunch in addition to the traditional Italian specialties you'd expect. My husband chose the salmon burger and was quite pleasantly surprised that he didn't get a salmon "burger!" He got a nice sized portion of actual grilled salmon on a bun with greens and I think tomato, plus a plate full of thin, crisp, addictive fries! It's on the menu as Cajun but he asked for no Cajun spices, and it says tartar sauce on the sandwich but he asked for that on the side. He said the salmon was really delicious . I ordered the tuna melt with avocado. This came on thinly sliced crisp toast and it was very tasty, if a little wetter than I usually prefer tuna salad. This also came with those wonderful fries; I NEVER finish a whole portion of fries but I ate every single piece today, they were that good. FWIW, I used hub's tartar sauce on the side for dipping my fries (I'm not a ketchup fan). We just had cold water to drink, and the server was gracious even though all we ordered were those sandwiches. We saw ample salads on other tables. The place was busy outside, empty inside, but it was a gorgeous day and the shaded tables were inviting - good for sitting and relaxing a bit, plus people watching! Inside, the restrooms were clean, but more than that they are noteworthy for the handicapped accessibility. I had a cousin whose MS caused her to need a wheelchair and she'd have been pleased with the space and the grab bars. Maybe it's code, but my experience has been that it's rarely this well followed. So if you or someone you dine out with has the need, consider diFranco's for the accessible restrooms as well as the food! Note that they were offering a discount for cash. The dinner menu looked good but I can only vouch for the high quality of the lunch. Try it if you're in or near Litchfield CT.

While waiting for the correct appetizer one of the owners/managers was eating at nearby table with one of his cronies who was having a cigarette. I let the 1st cigarette go but had to ask is this the smoking section once our appetizer arrived and he lit a second cigarette. He replied "he shouldn't be doing that". Meanwhile you sat there while he smoked his 1st cigarette with no regards for us. Fed up at this point I asked for our entree to go. A chicken Caesar wrap with dressing only on the ends and dry chicken in between. Fries with no seasoning. BS service and food. The restaurant industry is not an easy one, as someone who was in the food industry for 20 years don't bother making an excuse as this is unacceptable and shows that you don't care especially at 3:30 in the afternoon when you were not busy. The other servers and manager knew our experience was crap and did nothing. Last ditch effort was offering us more bread. As we were leaving. Absolutely Pathetic.
