Service is terrible , have scrape on back bumper that they did backing out of the service garage, Left loose plates on vehicle after oil change, ask to have them check for noise , they the couldn't hear it but my passenger could even when the radio was playing, they obvious didn't want to address the issue because it may have been because of their workmanship and was still under warrantee. Will not buy a vehicle from a dealer that has a poor service department. read more

Scheduled a oil change, they then called and attempted to cancel cause they said they where only doing warranty even though we scheduled in advance. Then when I dropped it off at my appointment if 9:30 they said it would not be ready till 3:00. I was fine with that then they called and attempted to tell me all this stuff was wrong with the car even though after getting the car back I had another mechanic look and they are unable to find any said issues. They even charged me for items that weren't used. I would suggest not using this business for any reason. read more

Find a Toyota dealer that doesn't have a nonrefundable deposit policy. Summer 2023. I was looking for a Tacoma which is impossible to find and called Don Franklin Toyota, Corbin, KY. Initial call resulted in NO call back from sales, so I called back and got Stuart Robinson (I have NO problem with him) who told me the used trucks I called about weren't available (though they were on their website). He did however say a new Tacoma was coming in. Since I had called up to 15 other Toyota dealers within 200 miles of Nashville, TN and no new trucks were available, I agreed to a "nonrefundable" deposit. Absolutely ridiculous since the dealership KNOWS they will sell EVERY truck they receive and they had ZERO money invested in the sale. I'm in the process of buying from another Toyota dealership that went over and above to find a 6 foot bed Tacoma and has asked for NO MONEY to reserve the truck in my name. Don't waste your time on dealers who think they own all the cards. This probably applies to the whole Don Franklin "family" of car dealerships. read more

Having moved from another state with an excellent Toyota dealership and service I found it odd that all this dealership wanted to do was oil changes, none of the more comprehensive services that are recommended at certain mileage intervals. When I questioned them about it, they said "we can do it if you want". Many times I've called to get an appointment and been told none is available for a week, yet when I've gone for my appointment there have been very few people waiting. Just checked into service at Fox Toyota and was told (which I suspected) of all the different services that I'm delinquent on. Sorry Gambrel / Don Franklin, you've lost a customer. read more

My husband just took his brand new truck in for the 5,000 mike service. Since the tire pressure light had come one within a few days before, he made it a point to ask them to check the tires specifically, as he drives 100+ miles round trip for work and didn't want to go through a flat/blowout while doing so. First, the checkin area had such a chaotic feel to it with people talking over each other, getting into computers while people were sitting there, and even interrupting others while they were talking to customers (we were actually interrupted while trying to explain to the representative about the tire pressure light). Well, we were assured when we left the dealership that everything looked good and that there was nothing wrong with any of the tires. It was dismissed as just one of those things that happens when the weather starts to change and the temperatures get cool at night. A week later and the tire pressure light remained on, even though it was warm and humid during the days and at night. My husband ended up taking the truck into a local tire store here in Harlan, and guess what? There was a nail in his tire. Ultimately, we drove 75 miles to Gambrel for subpar service and apparently a lack of attention to details, in spite of a customer's specific reports of a problem. We are a family with three Toyota vehicles, and after this terrible experience, we will avoid Gambrel at all possible costs. Fantastic customer service. We have been looking for a new truck, and set our sights on a Tacoma. We learned there was one in transit to Gambrel's and called and talked to a salesman. We bought it sight unseen, based on that conversation. From the initial phone call, to the delivery of our vehicle to us, we received outstanding service. I can't say enough good things about this Toyota dealership. They truly put the customer first, and treat their customers like family. It's worth the drive to Corbin, Kentucky to experience a great car dealership! read more

Excellent customer care! We were looking for a camry xle and had talked with several other Toyota dealerships including our local one with no luck. Our local Toyota dealership tried to push another vehicle on us after I explained to him several times what I wanted. Called Gambrel, talked with Donnie and immediately knew that was where I would buy my next car and future cars. Donnie was straight up, no beating around the bush, no bull, just service. We live almost 100 miles from Corbin KY but the trip was more than worth it. Will not buy from anyone else. I have never been treated worse at any establishment. I work with the public day in and day out and would be embarrassed to have employees that treat customers like I was treated. Bait and switch artists. First, the dealer has had the vehicle that I found on their website today (4/30/16) since late January 2016, and they have no price listed on their website. So I call and talk to Angie, who tells me the price is 21,900. She tells me on the phone that it has a roof rack, which was confirmed by pictures on their website. When I got there after driving down from Lexington, she told me it was actually 22,900 because they just added the roof rack. I made an offer based on what she told me on the phone, but they would not negotiate because now it had a $1000 roof rack added. Buyer beware. read more
