We were very disappointed after trying this for the first time. The beans had a red tint that were very bland. The rice had mixed vegetables in it, yuck! No flavor at all. #3 off lunch special~ The chicken taco was ok but the cheese enchilada was small with little cheese and it needed to be topped with more sauce and cheese. Ordered the Chimichanga off the lunch menu (1 item), instead of telling us that was not available on Sunday and asking if we wanted the dinner portion with 2, they just gave it to us along with the added cost. We probably would have picked something else. The salsa was pretty good, it had the right amount of heat that seemed like it would be good for most people. I will Never Go back. I was trying to place a Take out order and the Guy who answered the phone Actually hung up on my two times and when I showed up to ask what the problem was he said he could not understand me and acted like he did nothing wrong. This was very disrespectful and he acted like it was my fault he couldn't understand me. Are you looking for some Mexican food that isn't the prototypical rice beans and meat on a warmed plate this is it. The food is excellent different and very reasonably priced. This is a real special place not real big but it has a nice patio. It's not very big inside and gets a bit loud but the quality and quantity of the food is exceptional. The service is good and fast just don't expect fancy or overly attentive. Good meal tonight. We had the Chori-Pollo, Chicken Quesadilla, and the Don Eduardo's Special. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The kitchen staff worked quickly... our meal was ready in less than 10 minutes. The area had many seats inside and some outside seating available upon our arrival. We do regret not staying to dine in... but very pleased with the takeout packaging. We could have used them to hold our leftovers... but that did not happen. We have been going to Don Edwardo's for a few years. It has progressively gotten worse. The last time we visited, which will be our last time, the service was bad as was the food. The food had no taste, which is almost impossible when it comes to Mexican food. The queso cheese was runny like they had added water to it. The waitress was borderline rude. Decided to give it a try based on reviews. Ordered the dinner for two combo to get a variety to check out. We weren't crazy about the food - the beans seemed straight out of a can. The tacos were the store-bought type of crunchy shell and only had ground beef, iceberg lettuce, and shredded cheese. The chile in the chile relleno wasn't in great shape and didn't taste fresh so didn't eat much of it. There were a bunch of orange globs in the tortilla soup I ordered, but I think I figured out there was a bunch of melted cheese in there that I hadn't expected. Two of the items I couldn't decide what was what because they were both just a tortilla (one flour one corn) wrapped around some loose ground beef and topped with a red sauce. (One was supposed to be an enchilada and one a chalupa.) Maybe I missed ordering the best things on the menu? Maybe it was an "off" day? The cheese dip was better than the last place we tried and enjoyed it. The chips were good. The rice was good. I had high hopes based on the reviews. We just moved to the area from Cali. We were tired from a long drive and in the mood for Mexican food. After trying the salsa I began questioning the rest of the food. I went simple and got a chile relleno and a tostada. The tostada tasted like taco bell so it was okay, but the Chile relleno had this horrible sauce on top that was just not edible! Worst sauce I have tasted in a long time! My husband got a molcajete that did not have queso fresco, but a weird cheese sauce on top and despite all the meats, no flavor. Tortillas were stale. The rice was flavorless and the beans had a really weird taste. Most likely canned which I find weird because beans are so easy to make. A little tough on texture too. And why the cheese sauce on everything? Idk why this place has such good reviews but We'll definitely be making our own food for now. read more

We were on our way back from Asheville to Memphis and stopped by but bit iffy going in because it looked so small and attached to a liquor store. But since Yelp reviews were so outstanding we went in . So glad we trusted our gut....and everybody else's! Best Mexican restaurant we have been to in a very long time. Just like all the other reviews the staff was off the chart in conversation, customer service and just fun to talk to. Get anything (and everything) with the mushrooms on top. Very glad we found this place, food was great, very nice pico and we never seem to get servers to bring it so bonus that it was tasty. The carnitas I got were very good and while they were very busy they took great care of us and seemed to take care of everyone else as well. We looked for a good place to eat after a full day in Great Smokey National Park. Wow, what great food. The chips and salsa are some of the best I've ever had. I got the Fajitas... Amazing. Everything was delicious, and so fresh. The guacamole and sour cream were homemade and just amazing. The steak and chicken had just the right amount of seasoning to be perfect but not too much. My wife had the steak Fajita Quesadilla and raved about it. My son had burrito Mexicana. He couldn't finish it. The portions were larger than expected. All in all a great little place with amazing food that comes incredibly fast. The servers are all attentive and friendly. Service was A+++. Give this place a try, you'll be very happy you did. Chilie Verde is tender and cooked to perfection. Comes with homemade tortillas and rice that you'll want to finish regardless of how full you are. Driving to Nashville from the Smokies we realized there are very few culinary options off the I-40. Don Eduardo's was highly rated so we figured we'd take a chance. Motif like any other family-owned Mexican joint. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Service & food was fast. We all went with owner-recommended Don Eduardo Favorite (pictured). All 3 of us 190-200 lb guys had not eaten all day, grabbing early dinner...not one of us finished. Definitely worth splitting plates next time. Amazing find. Highly recommend.
