Food was very good. I had chicken on top of chopped avocados. The rest was mostly chicken cheese and rice dishes. My son's food was forgotten and took two reminders for his orders so we just got it to go. There's not much ac be prepared to be hot. read more

Tried this place while passing through. Carne asada 4/10 pretty bad was paper thin with barley cooked cebollas Café 4/10 asked for café got 2 cups of hot water with instant café powder on the side molcajete 6/10 not the worst way more ground asada to pollo very little nopals Chips 5/10 hot gave right a way with the menus when seated but no refills offered Price 8/10 was responsible it was 38.84$ Staff 8/10 it looked like there was 2 maybe 3 staff a server manager and maybe a cook so giving them the benefit of a doubt they did a pretty great job All in all it wasn't the greatest but I would be willing to give it another chance if I'm ever in the area again. read more

I found this restaurant on Yelp while traveling I-40. What a great lunch spot! I had the chicken chimichanga on the lunch special and there was more than I could eat. Delicious and fresh. Very good white cheese sauce and guacamole. Highly recommend for a quick lunch- much better than the usual Mexican food in TN. Extensive menu, I wish it was closer to home. read more

This USE to be so good. I don't know if it was a fluke but last night it was bad from the watery margaritas to the queso that tasted like curry was in it. The servers were all new and with the way the food came out so were the cooks new. We use to really enjoy it. It would take a lot to get me back! read more

After going there many years...the management or cooks or something changed. The food wad horrible. We went back a few times, but it never improved. Sad, we used to go at least 3 times or more a month. We do not go back. read more

We were very disappointed after trying this for the first time. The beans had a red tint that were very bland. The rice had mixed vegetables in it, yuck! No flavor at all. #3 off lunch special~ The chicken taco was ok but the cheese enchilada was small with little cheese and it needed to be topped with more sauce and cheese. Ordered the Chimichanga off the lunch menu (1 item), instead of telling us that was not available on Sunday and asking if we wanted the dinner portion with 2, they just gave it to us along with the added cost. We probably would have picked something else. The salsa was pretty good, it had the right amount of heat that seemed like it would be good for most people. The service was good and the outside looked a little run down but inside the ambiance was nice. read more

The medium margarita with no salt and Don Julio is amazing! We ordered the fajitas, the favorite and tamales no red sauce and everything was yummy! The service was great and enjoyed the music playing. Definitely one of our go too places. read more

This is a gem! Homemade everything! Staff so nice! Tortillachips crunchy, enchilada's were yum, white cheese and hone made salsa! This is legit. Beat any Cali Mexican restaurant food! I know 59 years in Cali. I hope to find a place as fantastic as this in VA. Thank you read more

I will Never Go back. I was trying to place a Take out order and the Guy who answered the phone Actually hung up on my two times and when I showed up to ask what the problem was he said he could not understand me and acted like he did nothing wrong. This was very disrespectful and he acted like it was my fault he couldn't understand me. Average food the weight staff has a hard time understanding customers because of the language barrier. No one deserves to be treated like this. read more

Are you looking for some Mexican food that isn't the prototypical rice beans and meat on a warmed plate this is it. The food is excellent different and very reasonably priced. This is a real special place not real big but it has a nice patio. It's not very big inside and gets a bit loud but the quality and quantity of the food is exceptional. The service is good and fast just don't expect fancy or overly attentive. Anyway I've opened and or run a dozen or so restaurants and the food here can hardly be beat try this place you won't regret it read more

Good meal tonight. We had the Chori-Pollo, Chicken Quesadilla, and the Don Eduardo's Special. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The kitchen staff worked quickly... our meal was ready in less than 10 minutes. The area had many seats inside and some outside seating available upon our arrival. We do regret not staying to dine in... but very pleased with the takeout packaging. We could have used them to hold our leftovers... but that did not happen. Our meals were enjoyed and put us on our way to a heavy sleep. *Looks over to my left* Well, if I can wiggle someone over to their side of the bed. read more

The food was absolutely delicious! My family of 8 loved how quick seating and the food coming out was. Our server was amazing! Only thing is that the place looks a little sketchy. Its next to a liquor store as well read more

A super menu. With a fantastic variety of Mexican dishes. Really, really affordable. The staff is friendly. It has a great hometown feel. And they always treat us well. read more

Great food. Superior service. Saw the staff deal professionally with a very rude couple - much better than I would have done.

Really great food and the service was fast and friendly. And just off of the interstate so very easy to get to

Stopped on our way through town and was very impressed. Service was great, hot and quick food. The only downside was no lunch menu on the weekends. I had steak fajitas and my husband had the street tacos, both were excellent. The inside (including the bathroom) was very clean. read more

We have been going to Don Edwardo's for a few years. It has progressively gotten worse. The last time we visited, which will be our last time, the service was bad as was the food. The food had no taste, which is almost impossible when it comes to Mexican food. The queso cheese was runny like they had added water to it. The waitress was borderline rude. The place had an order to it, flies flying around and water spots on the ceiling The guy taking the money ask me how it was and I said bad and he just held out his hand for my card. I really wish we had left the second we walk in. read more

Food was amazing! We ate off the lunch menu and 3 adults ate for $45, entrees and appetizer. Service was quick and friendly.

Decided to give it a try based on reviews. Ordered the dinner for two combo to get a variety to check out. We weren't crazy about the food - the beans seemed straight out of a can. The tacos were the store-bought type of crunchy shell and only had ground beef, iceberg lettuce, and shredded cheese. The chile in the chile relleno wasn't in great shape and didn't taste fresh so didn't eat much of it. There were a bunch of orange globs in the tortilla soup I ordered, but I think I figured out there was a bunch of melted cheese in there that I hadn't expected. Two of the items I couldn't decide what was what because they were both just a tortilla (one flour one corn) wrapped around some loose ground beef and topped with a red sauce. (One was supposed to be an enchilada and one a chalupa.) Maybe I missed ordering the best things on the menu? Maybe it was an "off" day? The cheese dip was better than the last place we tried and enjoyed it. The chips were good. The rice was good. I might have tried something else another time, but the beans killed it for me. read more

Love finding awesome Mexican places! This was one of the best Mexican places I've recently visited. The chips and salsa are great, as is their spicy homemade salsa! But three things really set them apart in my mind. 1) the staff is awesome. 2) their tamales are superb, love finding a place that has them! 3) their rice and beans are excellent!!! So happy to have randomly found this place! read more

I had high hopes based on the reviews. We just moved to the area from Cali. We were tired from a long drive and in the mood for Mexican food. After trying the salsa I began questioning the rest of the food. I went simple and got a chile relleno and a tostada. The tostada tasted like taco bell so it was okay, but the Chile relleno had this horrible sauce on top that was just not edible! Worst sauce I have tasted in a long time! My husband got a molcajete that did not have queso fresco, but a weird cheese sauce on top and despite all the meats, no flavor. Tortillas were stale. The rice was flavorless and the beans had a really weird taste. Most likely canned which I find weird because beans are so easy to make. A little tough on texture too. And why the cheese sauce on everything? Idk why this place has such good reviews but We'll definitely be making our own food for now. read more

Recently moved to the area from California. We were told that the Mexican food in TN is subpar. We stopped this non assuming restaurant, Don Eduardo's, on a whim and sooooo glad that we did! Food was piping hot, large portions and delicious! I had the 'Don Eduardo's lunch special' for $8.99 that had chicken, steak, shrimp and loaded with veggies. So good read more

Good food with hard working employees and great service. Make sure to leave a good tip.

Fast service! Always see the manager running like crazy and the food is very good too.

If you shouldn't judge a book by its cover you shouldn't judge a restaurant by its cover. We were on our way back from Asheville to Memphis and stopped by but bit iffy going in because it looked so small and attached to a liquor store. But since Yelp reviews were so outstanding we went in . So glad we trusted our gut....and everybody else's! Best Mexican restaurant we have been to in a very long time. Just like all the other reviews the staff was off the chart in conversation, customer service and just fun to talk to. Get anything (and everything) with the mushrooms on top. I could tell they were seasoned perfectly and sauted fresh in the back. Great food, great service and now is on our list for must do's for our comings and goings through Tennessee.. read more

Great authentic Mexican cuisine and margaritas. Love to support the local business owners

Traveling through and wanted to get some Mexican food so looked for decent place on here. Very glad we found this place, food was great, very nice pico and we never seem to get servers to bring it so bonus that it was tasty. The carnitas I got were very good and while they were very busy they took great care of us and seemed to take care of everyone else as well. Treated people like family they liked ;) Definitely come back if we are around and hungry. read more

We looked for a good place to eat after a full day in Great Smokey National Park. Wow, what great food. The chips and salsa are some of the best I've ever had. I got the Fajitas... Amazing. Everything was delicious, and so fresh. The guacamole and sour cream were homemade and just amazing. The steak and chicken had just the right amount of seasoning to be perfect but not too much. My wife had the steak Fajita Quesadilla and raved about it. My son had burrito Mexicana. He couldn't finish it. The portions were larger than expected. All in all a great little place with amazing food that comes incredibly fast. The servers are all attentive and friendly. Service was A+++. Give this place a try, you'll be very happy you did. We sure are. read more

Driving to Nashville from the Smokies we realized there are very few culinary options off the I-40. Don Eduardo's was highly rated so we figured we'd take a chance. Motif like any other family-owned Mexican joint. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Service & food was fast. We all went with owner-recommended Don Eduardo Favorite (pictured). All 3 of us 190-200 lb guys had not eaten all day, grabbing early dinner...not one of us finished. Definitely worth splitting plates next time. Amazing find. Highly recommend. (Rarely bother to write reviews unless is actually seek out again- this is one of those places). Plates and beer brought us in ~$20 each. Again- could have ordered half as much food and been equally satisfied. read more

For $16 we got a gigantic basket of chips, 3 servings of spicy salsa (complimentary), and two huge portions of vegetarian chimichangas served with yellow rice, refried beans, pico de gallo, guac and sour cream. Everything was delicious, the service was extremely quick, and you cannot beat the price. Our waiter was not only nice but had a good sense of humor. Wife and I ate here last week, service was a little weird, we had about 5 different people wait on us! Food was terrible and we never received a check, so we just stood in line to pay and another person had our check!? Won't be back and would not recommend anyone to go!! Don't know how long they have been in business but I can't imagine they have lasted long with the crap good they sell!! read more

Delicious - Friendly - Reasonable ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Stopped here on a road trip. Lucky us. Authentic Mexican food with flavor that rivals food I've had in Mexico. Chilie Verde is tender and cooked to perfection. Comes with homemade tortillas and rice that you'll want to finish regardless of how full you are. Lunch special was grilled vegetables and chicken with tequila sauce. This is OH MY GAWD good. Price was right. Owner and staff are really friendly and the air conditioning felt great on this hot summer afternoon. Stop and eat here over any chain in the area. read more

Came while it was busy so maybe that's why the food was just adequate. Too much guacamole on everything and it didn't taste that fresh. Best Mexican Around. Been going here for some time now and always have a good experience.

What a wonderful family restaurant! The entire staff will embrace you as family! Pepe, Chuey, Nacho, Philipe, and Alex and friendly and very attentive! Pepe will make you the best top shelf margaritas by the pitcher! Love that everyone get their own salsa bowl, the chips are served hot! If you don't know what to order, just tell them what you like and they'll make you something delicious and authentic! We eat here every time we come to town, usually every other week. 10 stars! read more

My wife and I just finished lunch here. The food and service was very good. However, I have a complaint that applies here. I ordered Enchiladas Rancheras with pork in mole sauce. They delivered pork with enchilada red sauce. I complained and was told they only make pork with mole at certain times. I am not sure if they think "gringos' are ignorant or what. I know and love mole sauce. We sat outside and will return. read more
