Los Primos is hands down the best Mexican food in Roane County! The atmosphere is great, freshly remodeled. The service is awesome! They are all great but Romeo is our favorite, ask for him! The lunch menu is 7 days a week and average price is 7 bucks and portions are plentiful! After seeing a huge XXL burrito we had to try it. Oh man, the Burrito Texano with shrimp, chicken, steak, fajita veggies, rice and beans won't disappoint! It was so big we had to split it! Complimentary chips and salsa and a variety salsa bar. The service wasn't very good, she didn't check on us, didn't bring my pico de gallo, when we asked her for something she said to wait. My friend got something chicken and said it was very good. When a parking lot is packed at dinner on a Saturday night chances are they're doing something right! Add to that a wait for a table. After a short wait I was seated and chips and salsa were delivered. I went thru the menu and had an idea what I wanted by the time the waiter arrived. The chimi ala cart with grilled chicken, onions, and red peppers instead of green. I forgot to ask for it soft rather than fried, but that's ok. It was delicious and the red peppers give it a huge boost. The cheese sauce on top is a bonus. The staff was super nice and the fullness of the restaurant didn't let up. The decor and decorations are fun and they have an entire wall dedicated to artist Frida Kahlo, which is pretty cool. All in all a great experience for someone just passing thru town. read more

Stopped here with the family on the way home from Pigeon Gorge, and the kids all agree we need to come back. Staff is exceptionally kind and the setting is authentic. With 6 people in our party, I'm pretty sure we tried everything on the menu. Nothing disappointed. We are on our way home from a trip to Gatlinburg (you can read my review of Sawyer's for our breakfast experience there - abysmal) and we needed a great place for lunch. I had been thinking that we had not had Mexican our entire trip, so when we came upon Los Primos, with a parking lot full of locals(always a good sign) I quickly crossed over multiple lanes to pull in. My wife and I shared a Molcajete, which is meat and veggies in a molten lava bowl, sizzling hot and covered in cheese. It was fantastic, with strips of steak, chicken, good size shrimp, and chorizo. We had 2 teenagers with us, and only one could finish their plate. There were massive amounts of food, I mean massive, so plan on having extra food. My daughter had the carnitas tacos and together we could not finish it all. Our son had the ground beef tacos and could only eat 2 out of 2. The friend that was with us on the trip did eat his entire quesadilla and he said it was really good as well. I will definitely be back to Los Primos if I am ever lucky enough to be going by here again. read more

First of all, I almost didn't leave this review. This is one of the very best Mexican Restaurants I have ever been visited. The food isn't good, it's great. You can't beat their service, it is fantastic. The ambiance is typical Mexican, but I really come for the food. My wife and I have tried almost everything on their extensive menu and never had a bad meal. If I had to make a complaint, it's the mount of food, way too much. We always take a lot of food home. Lunch Fajitas Steak Appropriate portion size for lunch. The Steak is well seasoned and tender. And the vegetables are nicely charred. We had a great meal at Los Primos. There were 8 of us and we were looking for a place in between where all of us could meet, eat and talk. This was where we decided and what a good choice it was. The server was very good and so was the food. Out of the 8 of us, only one wasn't thrilled with the food but we think it was mainly because of a preference to sauce. I can't say the Mexican food was the best we've ever had but it was pretty darn good. However, the bean dip we ordered to go along with our chips was probably the best we had every had. Our orders ranged from enchiladas to chimichangas to fajitas and even nachos. There was a pretty good selection served at our table. Over all, it was good. A previous visit showed this to be a reasonably good place. Today, it was very ordinary. The service was slow, though friendly and the food was reasonably good...more in a minute. But the menus are daggy. They're covered in grease, grubby fingerprints and are dog-eared and generally nasty. The drink list was so bad, it shouldn't be touched unless you then go to wash your hands...and there is the next problem. The toilets are disgraceful and touching the faucet or door handle could, in my opinion, be an invitation to all manner of potentially harmful bacteria. My wife ordered a chilli relleno, I ordered vegetarian fajitas. The food was quite tasty even though they put the wrong sauce on her meal. We called in here on a road trip between Johnson City and Nashville. Clean the place up, service the toilets, disinfect the drink menus and replace and update the food menu and pick up the service, and perhaps we might call again...but, probably not. read more

We had just moved to Harriman from Florida. We were hungry for some tex/mex food. And we found it. Let's break this dining experience down: Server - Jose: Amazing! The margaritas he made for us were the best we have EVER had! He is friendly but not annoying. Made our evening relaxing and fun. Food - Came out HOT! My husband had the mix fajitas. The vegetables were perfectly grilled, the steak and chicken were not warmed over.. but grilled to perfection as well. He never ordered fajitas at previous Mexican restaurants we dined at because the ingredients are usually overcooked. He said this is his go to dish from now on. I ordered the grilled steak chimichanga. OMG! The picture says it all! And no, I could not eat it all in one sitting. We bow to the chef! Cost: It would cost more for us to make the food ourselves (and it would not taste as good). You get large portions, it tastes fantastic, comes out hot....and the huge margaritas are worth it! Clean: The interior is clean, even the menus are spotless. And the decor is fun! Final thoughts: This is a local place. It is not a fast food restaurant. Don't treat it like one, relax, and just enjoy being in a place that takes pride in service, food.. oh.. and did I not mention it.. making the BEST margaritas!
