I discovered Lorenzo's by accident after making a wrong turn going to my favorite Thai Bistro next door in Tellico Village, and figured I'd try it some time. Seems to have a good following based on the amount of people there, but I found it to be just okay. The salsa had good heat but large chunks of onion took over the flavor and the chips were a tad on the stale side. I ordered the Enchilada Suiza with chicken and rice and beans on the side. On the plus side, I could clearly taste both the tomatillo and the cilantro in the green sauce, and it paired well with the sour cream. However the sauce was fairly watery and the chicken in the enchilada needed more flavor. I got to try a bite of the pork tamales and they did in fact taste homemade like the server said, so that was a plus. I would consider coming back, but for traditional Mexican faire there isn't too much to draw me to Lorenzo's. read more

For Tellico Village standards = 2 thumbs up. Not much to choose from as in way of restaurants in the Village. The tacos were highly recommended as a gauge to make your own opinion. I opted for two ground beef tacos and ground beef enchilada. I found the meat to be well seasoned and not greasy which was a pleasant surprise. The enchilada sauce was on point. The salsa that came with the chips was typical tomato based with little seasoning. I asked if they had a hotter version and the waitress provided us with "House sauce" which she gave us a hint to add it to the salsa to spice it up. I glad I asked as I found it to be the right amount of hotness and great flavor and found the sauce itself was the way to go. It definitely spiced up my tacos. My wife ordered the carne queso dip which consisted of queso dip with ground beef mixed in. Was good and even better when spicing it up with the "house sauce". I notice a sign which read "BYOT" and learned that if you bring your own tequila they will provide the margarita mix for a small charge and make you a margarita. This is a beer and wine only restaurant, but they have no problem with you bringing in your own hard liquor. They hours are catered to a lunch crowd in which they shut down in the afternoon and reopen for a dinner crowd. Make sure to check their hours before embarking to eat. Overall a pleasant experience and will be returning in the future. read more

1st visit & FABULOUS! Building is a wee bit dated, yet food was delectable, served on piping-hot plates by extremely kind/efficient waiter. Awesome sauces, yummy homemade Salsa (w/some zing/diced onion). We just wish we knew to 'bring our own tequila' as they provide margarita mix. (see pic) They do have beer & Mexican Sodas tho~ Reasonable prices, we both had to take food home from d/t rather generous portions.... we will be back....Ole'! read more

First, I want to say that Lorenzo's was my first Mexican dining experience in the Tellico Village area. It is close and the combination meals are tasty at a very fair price. Lorenzo's needs their staff to smile; I understand how tiring owning a restaurant is, but it is important as a customer to not feel like you are a burden. I get that feeling many times when I eat at Lorenzo's. The dining area is worn and feels less clean than some nearby Mexican restaurants. I still will eat at Lorenzo's, but it is no longer my first choice in the area. read more

Weren't planning on going here but drove by and it smelled pretty good so we stopped in. I had a combo with a cheese enchilada and a beef taco. The salsa was good, wished it was a little spicier. This is East Tennessee hard to find good Mexican, this is my go to place. Good food, service and prices!

Food is ok. Service is slow. Atmosphere is ok. Ground Beef Enchilada is ok. Serving size is good.

Genuine tex-mex atmosphere and food. Great for Tellico Village convenience. Relatively inexpensive, compared to other restaurants with inflation as it is, and the servings haven't 'shrunk' like other places (shrinkflation). Wife loves the chicken soup; kids love splitting a Burrito Grande'. Good salsa; about the same as you'll get at any Mexican restaurant in town. I always get the chicken enchiladas everywhere I go and these have ample chicken and good flavor. Really good for ET but if you're from New Mexico or Colorado you will find it lacking, especially since they don't serve green chili in this part of the country. Food quality and quantity is 'pretty' consistent, but the to-go orders are sometimes a little on the light side. read more

I was visiting my in-law's lake house and this is their go to Mexican restaurant. It's solid Mexican food for being in the middle of no where. Fast and friendly service. Pay at the counter. Smells like cigarettes when you walk in which is off putting. I got the shrimp and steak fajitas. The fajitas had good flavor and the shrimp was nicely cooked. The steak was cut in super thin short slices that tasted dry and was burnt. I suggest cutting the steak into average long slices to avoid drying and burning the meat. Rice was so so, it could use more flavor. I probably would have given this place a 2 star BUT it does Bring Your Own Tequila! They charge you $2.5 (something like that) to prep each margarita glass. read more
