Pizza Post is literally the pizza that I grew up on. Before delivery was a thing, we would pick up…read morea Pizza Post pizza and take it home on a Friday night. After every high school football and basketball game, this place was packed. They were one of the first pizza places to open up for lunch. It's not just the nostalgia, it's really good pizza. Since moving away, I've introduced Pizza Post to several friends on trips back or when they've traveled thru Norwalk or when I've brought an unbaked pizza home to Cleveland and made it for a gathering. Everyone has LOVED it. If there is such a thing as a "Norwalk Style" pizza this is it. It's a thinner crusted pizza with ample delicious sauce and perfectly melted cheese. The largest size is cut into the familiar square pieces of childhood. Served hot, it's one of the greatest food joys in life. The spaghetti sauce is from the recipes of another Norwalk favorite, Joseppi's, a now defunct Italian restaurant from the 70's. And, make sure to get an order of garlic bread either with or without cheese and you'll be thrilled. I've tried A LOT of pizza and Pizza Post pepperoni pizza is still my favorite. Other pizzas I've had were good and even great, but if I could only have one kind of pizza for the rest of my life, it would be Pizza Post.

Pizza Post quality has gone way down in the last year or so. The last few Pizza's I had were way…read moreover cooked, and dry as Cardboard. The topping(s) look like a dried Scab, and you can peel it right off the crust and not lose any of it. They also have reduced the amount of Cheese they use. They used to have the best Pies in town, but they lost the love and pride they used to have for their food. It is also the most expensive Pizza in town. I won't be back any time soon.

Beware cause you'll smell the food on you when you leave. Parking is around the town square (street parking). Overall, I would come back again. It's great supporting a local diner and the food was good.

(the Denny's and IHOPs have all been terrorized by accountants, apparently, as their offerings have all declined exponentially in quality.) The nearest Cracker Barrel was literally 100 miles in front of us. Nope, I was in the mood to find the tiny local joint where folks in the kitchen had a mission. This quest has been front and center in all my travel plans since always, and when I win one, it's always a bonus (find my Yelp about "Lu-Bob's" in Greenville, IL) As wife was driving, I had time to reconnoiter Yelp, and the "Invention" in Milan (a few miles ahead) looked like a bullseye. Milan is a quaint little town with a picturesque town square, and the "Invention Restaurant" was smack dab on the corner- it looked EXACTLY as I hoped it would. It was crowded inside with Families (2nd good sign). We got seated in a tiny booth right next to the kitchen and restrooms- Siberia in any other place, but at least we wouldn't escape the eye of the Waitress when our drinks needed a refill. The Lady Chef expediting was a riot to watch and listen to. I could tell these folks were serious about their jobs. The Waitress seemed right out of central Casting-jovial in a good natured smartass way. Wife went with the "Triple"- Eggiwegs, Pancakes and Bacon. I swung with the special "Hot Trash" which was basically a "garbage plate"-a bit of everything mixed up with potatoes and eggs. (this one promised to be "spicy") A really Good Cup of strong coffee was the 3rd good sign, but the "Pepsi" was a bit suspect. Luckily that was the onliest barnacle on this visit. Not enough to foul the mood, but If we're ever there again, we're drinking Iced Tea. Both Breakfasts were max yummy. The "Hot Trash" wasn't especially spicy, but the dish was really great. I didn't care about the spicing. Wife was happy with hers-everything was top fresh. My plate was so sumptuous, I couldn't finish. Made sure the Chef knew it was a matter of capacity, not lack of quality. Prices VERY reasonable as well. This WAS a "small-town winner" for the books. One note-The unisex toilet was about as spacious as the last one I visited on a Boeing 737. Although clean, you could wash your hands in the sink without leaning forward on the throne. I'm a man of size, and if I was 10 pounds more, I would have had considerable trouble navigating the facility here. Not enough to sour me on the place, but I'm glad I didn't have to do major work there, if you know what I mean. If you're enroute to or returning from Cleveland, take the little detour off of I-80/90 and visit the Invention Restaurant in Milan...

It was a smaller store front, cozy and a hidden gem! The restaurant has so much personality, with years of awards proudly displayed throughout the dining room. Before the food even arrived, we knew we had found somewhere special. We started with the Bistro Onion Soup and the Red Pepper Lobster Bisque. French onion soup and lobster bisque are two of my all-time favorites, so my expectations were high. The Bistro Onion Soup absolutely delivered--rich, flavorful broth, perfectly tender onions, and an incredible blanket of melted cheese. Easily one of the best onion soups I've ever had. The Red Pepper Lobster Bisque was equally memorable. The sweetness of the roasted red peppers paired beautifully with the lobster, creating a unique twist that really worked. My husband and older son both ordered the Momma Mia. A spaghetti sandwich? We were intrigued! My son gave it a 9/10 and said it tasted like a lasagna sandwich. He'd order it again without hesitation. My youngest chose Ziggy the Piggy and declared it "the best sandwich I've ever had." That's high praise from a 10-year-old! He gave it a perfect 10/10, and the sandwich was nearly as big as his head. Honestly, reading the menu made us want to come back just to try everything else. Every item sounded delicious. What made the experience even better was the staff. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. That kind of hospitality is hard to fake, and it made us feel right at home. If you're passing through--or even if you're not--Zuppaman is absolutely worth the stop. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

Not only cane you get numerous sandwiches made to go (or eat at the few tables they have) you can get deli meats, numerous salads, ice cream, wine, beer and other drinks, plus many other items. I ordered a sweet 'n sharp sandwich, which was rotisserie style chicken with lettuce, honey mustard dressing, cheddar cheese and Mayo. It is served on either a hoagie bun, or wheat bread I got the bread and it was so fresh it was wonderful. All the ingredients were plentiful and the sandwich was super tasty. While waiting for it to be made, I saw a bottle of wine that we often drink, and was able to pick that up at a reasonable price. I like one stop shopping! We are only in town for a few more days, but we may have to make our way back there for another sandwich.

There are only 5 or 6 tables and I got one that seated 2 people. I tasted the sauces that were on the table. The original was a thick molasses forward sauce with a finish that tastes like liquid smoke. The Sara's Spicy sauce was the same as the original with some cayenne added so you get a bit of heat at the end. The mustard sauce was very sweet with a mustard flavor. There was quite a bit of vinegar tang to it as well. The Slap Yo Mama sauce was a thin tomato vinegar forward sauce with a touch of heat to the finish. I got pulled pork, brisket, and smoked chicken. The pulled pork was stringy, crispy, and dry. The brisket was cut into pieces that reminds me of burnt ends. Was also very dry. I used a ton of sauce on the pork and brisket to make up for the dryness in the meat. When I ordered smoked chicken I didn't know it was going to be pulled chicken. That should be spelled out on the menu. The chicken was cooked perfect. Tender, moist and well seasoned. The smoke on all the meat has a burnt smoke taste. In a bad way. Green beans were fresh and were completely plain. I got the baked beans and those were very enjoyable. It's their own recipe and its actually very good. Mustard and brown sugar with some fresh veggies mixed in. I really liked it. The cornbread was also dry. My only advice to this place would be to figure out a way to cook your meats so they don't dry out. And smoke the food so it doesn't have a burnt ash tray taste and it would be much better.
