Carbone's pizzeria is a place everyone should try because it's that good…read more Located on the north side of Rt 55 in Hastings and is a small pizza place but has the best pizza I've had while traveling for business. Coming from Chicago we pride ourselves for making excellent pizza. I have to say I am always judgmental when it comes to pizza because the pizza in Chicago is so good. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile and seated right away. I explained that I had never eaten there before but was recommended by someone who had eaten there. So after being explained about how they make their pizza from the ingredients they use to the thickness of the crust I ordered the super pie which was made special for me. This pie normally is made with a thicker crust and is the only one on the menu that requires a thicker crust due to having a ton on it, so the thickness is to help support it so you can still pick it up and it doesn't fall apart. My request was to have the crust be the normal thin crust which they accommodated me and I requested the cheese be browned. (This is so everything stays on the crust as well and the cheese is not so stringy). This pizza was amazing and if Carbone's came to Chicago they'd do very well! It was layered perfectly, cooked perfectly and tasted just like I had hoped. It's nice to be out of town and get good pizza. They deliver as well but even if they were not 3mins from where I'm staying I'd drive 15-20mins just to eat there or to pick the pie up. The sauce was not too much and not enough but rather evenly mixed. Whoever they have making their pies knows what they are doing and should know that their skills are appreciated!!!! Before I left I was thanked for coming and given a menu and a coupon that they punch and explained that for every 10.00 I spend I get a punch and after 10 punches I get a discount of 10.00 off which based on the prices that's either a free pizza (depending on the size) or 50-75%off that order which is a great deal if you are like me and out of town a lot and don't have time to cook. I am so glad I took the advice from my roommate to try Carbone's and you should too. They aim to please and that's just what they did in my case. My only suggestion is start making a XL 16" or 18" pizza because I like left overs and 14" doesn't allow you to do that as often when you are with 2 big guys. Ordering 2 14" pizzas would have been too much so this is why I recommend this but maybe that's your reasoning to get people to keep coming back for more so in that case keep up the good work because you have something great here. I will be ordering from you very soon and your menu is now on our info board at my apartment. The question is can you deliver to inter grove at the refinery because if you do I'll be ordering food for crews there if not then I might have to drive and pick them up because everyone should try your pizza. (We'llsee lol) Thanks from me to you and I look forward to eating there again. Fraternally, Chicago Dave

First time here and probably won't return. I ordered…read moreNashville Hot Chicken sandwich and Waffle Fries with a pop. Cost was about $20 with a 10% tip I left for bringing me my food. The good: waffle fries dunked in Rooster sauce, which is basically a copycat to Raisin Canes sauce. The bad here is where it goes south. The chicken breast is huge and too big to get your mouth around the bun. It is obviously frozen as the crusty crispy part was hard as a rock. I removed the bun and cut with a knife but chicken was tough that it bent the tines on the plastic fork. The chicken also tasted rubbery. The coleslaw on top was a huge mess. I ate about 1/2 and brought the rest home to my dog. I removed most of crunchy coating. Maybe the chicken tenders are what you are supposed to order. I don't know. Super expensive for basicly frozen chicken. The mall was also basically abandoned. Go elsewhere!!

I've had the privilege--both for work and for fun--of visiting many interesting places, including…read morerestaurants. That gives me a little insight into what makes a good restaurant, in addition to being a bit of a chef myself. My first time at Muddy Waters. A very cozy place with an impressive patio. The service was impeccable and very professional. Jessica really paid attention to every detail. Now, on to the bar. Unfortunately, I don't know the bartender's name. She made an absolutely delicious Manhattan--and I know a thing or two about Manhattans. When my lovely guest ordered a Sangria, it was almost an earthquake. I say this because in all restaurants--except in Spain and other countries that know how to make it--here in my country, they don't know how to make it. Sangria comes from the word "sangre," meaning "blood," which is red--unless you're royalty with blue blood. Just kidding! Everyone makes it with white wine and chopped fruit. In Argentina, that's called "Clericot," which comes from the English term "Claret Cup." Anyway, my congratulations to the excellent Lady bartender, who created a red sangria, her own way--delicious, refreshing, and very flavorful. Remember, sangria is drunk in Spain, mostly in places like Seville in the summer to enjoy that Andalusian sun. We ordered the Baked Brie. We thought we were going to get a dish just like all the ones we've tried at other restaurants--bought at the market and baked. This Baked Brie, however, is fantastic: custom-made and stuffed. I won't tell my readers what's inside--you'll have to go try it for yourselves. In a word: authentic, creative, and delicious. Another thing worth highlighting is the pork chop. Perfectly grilled. Very hard to find out there. Most of the time, it's dry and chewy. A suggestion, the Rack Ribs, I would cook them on the BBQ sauce. They were a little dry. I skipped dessert--I'm saving that for my next visit. See you soon...

Bloody Mary was only ok (and waitress did not ask for what type of beer chaser so not sure what was poured). Steak tips and spinach dip were tasty. Cheesecake at end to split with my friend was delicious but looked as if it was not homemade.

We tried several different…read moredishes, including the seafood Pad Thai, curry, fried rice with the crispy egg, spring rolls, and shrimp rolls. Everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The portions were nice, and the presentation looked great too. The only thing that bothered me was the customer service. Mary was our server, and I understand they were busy, so I definitely take that into consideration. But after our food came out, there really wasn't much of a check-in to see how everything was or if we needed anything else. Even when a restaurant is busy, a quick "How is everything?" or checking to see if we need refills goes a long way. The food was definitely the highlight of our visit, and we will visit again. Hopefully next time the service is a little more attentive because that would make the overall experience perfect all around.

Cream cheese wontons - ok If I had realized that the Beef Salad and the Seafood Salad were basically the same thing just different protein I would have just chosen one. That choice would be the Seafood Salad. I like the thin rice noodles and there was a good amount of seafood in it. Pad Lawn as my favorite from what we ordered. Yummy warm broccoli, with cabbage, and other veggies. We chose mock duck as our protein and it came with nice big chunks. The papaya salad was really good and I'd get that again. If you are ordering from their website, I'd recommend checking out the menu inside of the restaurant or looking at the menu photos on Yelp because I saw some things that I would have loved to try but they weren't on the online ordering menu so perhaps next time we will just eat there or order inside so we can check out the physical menu. Will be back again in the future for sure!!
