The Stillery serves up drinks and elevated pub food in a casual setting…read more We stopped by on a Sunday evening after a trip to nearby Cabela's. We started with drinks. I got the Manhattan off their specialty menu and my husband got their autumn barrel Manhattan. After trying both--highly recommend the one off their specialty menu. It was definitely superior quality. It's served over a block of ice so if you want it up, you may want to mention that when ordering. It tasted more like a classic old fashioned than a Manhattan but I'm not complaining because I love classic bourbon old fashioned cocktails as well. For a starter we got their much raved about bang bang shrimp. It came on a bed of greens and was good! For my dinner I got their seasonal chicken and dumpling soup and a side salad. Both were solid. The salad was definitely more ample than I was expecting. My husband got some sort of salmon alfredo pasta dish that came with roasted asparagus mixed in. I had a bite and he ordered well--it was decadently buttery and delicious. The service was super kind throughout our stay. Our server checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. Get to it!

I love the combination of perch and Italian breading. That style of breading is a perfect compliment to the flavor of the perch and I wish more places would make theirs similarly. Sadly, the cod was very wet so the breading fell apart and it wasn't as beneficial as it was on the perch. The potato pancakes were almost too dense and, as you can see from the picture I posted, were not cooked on the bottom at all. I've had far better potato pancakes elsewhere and wouldn't get theirs again. Both of the kids liked their dinners. The only thing I noticed that was off was the grilled cheese was toasted enough to brown the bread and melt the cheese on the edges, but none of the cheese inside was melted. Minor, but notable. My wife thought the wrap had a very generous amount of meat, cheese, and lettuce. She appreciated that it was romaine lettuce, not iceberg, and that the ranch was sparce instead of excessive as that let the other flavors shine instead of being overpowered. The gentleman behind the bar who brought our food out and handled our bill was friendly. I did notice, though, that none of the staff was wearing masks and there were a few groups of people close to each other at the bar, so social distancing probably isn't something they're taking too seriously for those who are worried about the COVID-19 situation.

Old Fashioned : C : $3.75 : They use JERO's mix Clam Chowder : D Service : A+ Tarter Sauce : Very mild Final Grade: B- This was our first time trying out the Richfield Roadhouse. We were greeted warmly by manager Brian. He took great care of us and even shared a few jokes. (If he looks familiar to you, that's because he used to own Sario's in Jackson! Sario's closed in 2003.) Old Fashioned was made with Jero's mix and wasn't that great. It was strong and cheap so it gets a C. It's so hard to find a good hand muddled OF! The clam chowder was not the best. (See the picture) It was a brownish color with giant potatoes. It was not creamy, more like a stew instead. Clam flavor was almost unnoticeable. I would not order this again. Breaded cod was slightly under cooked. The color on the fry was on the pale side for me and could be more crispy. Fillets were on the medium size. The breading tasted good and was seasoned well. And the fish was flaky and mild. (I had the "special" which included 2 stuffed shrimp. I would pass on these next time.) The fries were crunchy and more of a seasoned fry. Potato pancakes were homemade. They were a little under cooked as well, but then again, I prefer a crispy potato pancake. The flavor was really good, not overly onion-y. The place itself is fun. There is a Pull Tab machine and we won $1. There are also games for kids to play as well as a few slot machines. Seating is limited so get there early. Patio is open for the summer. Service was great. Prices are great. Cod is not bad. Potato pancakes are worth a try. But skip the clam chowder. We will be back.

Came here for dinner and unfortunately left pretty underwhelmed overall…read more The restaurant itself was clean, and service initially started off fine. When we first arrived, the restaurant was not busy. Only a couple other tables occupied, so expectations were fairly high for a smooth experience. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. The food took quite a while to come out despite how slow it was. When it finally did, it was first delivered to the wrong table before eventually making its way to us. The food runner then randomly grabbed a ranch from our table and brought it to another table. He seemed potentially new, but overall the service felt very disorganized and clueless, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered the cheese curds to start, and they were disappointing. The breading was mushy and extremely greasy, and the cheese itself tasted low quality rather than the fresh curds you'd expect at a Wisconsin pub. We also ordered several wing flavors since they were on special: garlic parm, buffalo, bourbon BBQ, and lemon pepper. One issue right away was the lack of flavor variety overall on the menu. The wings themselves were inconsistent. Sizes varied dramatically, which clearly affected the cook quality. Some were fried so hard they were like chewing leather, while others had soggy, undercooked skin. Flavor wise the buffalo were almost completely flavorless. The lemon pepper was extremely mild. The garlic parm was probably the best of the group, though still just average. The bourbon BBQ was rough. The sauce tasted like an overly sweet, overly salty cheap jarred glaze rather than an actual house-made BBQ sauce. My wife ordered the Mary Mac burger without a bun and was told extra lettuce leaves could be substituted to make it a lettuce wrap. Instead, it came out with just shredded lettuce. The burger itself was overcooked and lacking flavor. The fries were decent enough, but nothing memorable. Overall, this felt like a place with potential that just missed the mark on both execution and consistency during our visit.

I wasn't super hungry, but wanted to try something, so I ordered mozzarella sticks to go. The mozzarella sticks have higher quality breading than the ones the nearby Arby's sells. Unfortunately, they were only deep fried long enough to not be cold inside and not a second longer. There was no pull to the cheese like a great mozzarella stick has. At some point I'll go back and try the chicken. I'm a big fan of Dave's Hot Chicken a few minutes next to Costco and the Buffalo Wild Wings around around the corner, so it's got some stiff competition.

For breakfast I've tried the breakfast wrap, which is scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cheddar cheese, and potatoes in a wrap then covered with your choice of beer cheese, sausage gravy, or salsa (I chose sausage gravy). For lunch/dinner I've had their cheese curds and triple decker club wrap with waffle fries. The meals were two different tales. I didn't care for the breakfast burrito very much. I thought cheese was lacking in the burrito and it was messy not being able to pick it up and eat it like a wrap due to the gravy on top. Given the chance to do it over, I would get the gravy on the side and dunk it into it before taking a bite. Conversely, Iiked the the triple decker club wrap and thought it had a nice balance between the three meats (ham, bacon, turkey), good crunch from the lettuce, and maybe a bit too much mayo, but enough to keep the wrap from being dry. The waffle fries were good too. The cheese curds had a nice hand dipped batter going on.

Hubby keeps picking up and forgetting to check, but we really needed more coleslaw. They also forgot bread. But a lot of hot sauce. One time, we got the 15 piece whole wings and 8 piece legs and thighs. It was plenty to feed two men and one gal with big appetites. Should be plenty for 4 people with big appetites, with leftovers.
