I've been a customer of Midway Deli for 20 years and the food and service have never lacked once in all these years. The options for sandwiches are perfect and hit the spot. I love the location in Norman. Driving there through the nearby beautiful neighborhood enhances how special deli really is. I love the options, the ambiance of the seating and space. I love the accessibility of the bench outside with the solar powered phone charger, too. Basically, I love this place and you will, too.

We visited for lunch on Friday and there was a long line but it moved very quickly and we were able to find a seat with no problems. Outside there was a live musician performing and it was mainly covered. Of course we had to try the Vulcan sandwich (they're known for it) and we also tried a baked potato and another sandwich. We were SO impressed! When they came out, they looked like regular sandwiches but surpassed our expectations with the fresh and delicious flavors. Love this local, casual sandwich spot and would enjoy bringing friends back here.

One kids sandwich was plain, the other had mayo lettuce and tomato on it and guess what, my kid wouldn't eat it, she picked a few pieces of ham out and pushed the rest away. The cheese on the Italian sub was extremely bitter and made the sandwich hard to enjoy My husband didn't really care for his BLT, he said it was bitter, I'm not sure why because he didn't have cheese. I asked what was in the display case and she said "edible cookie dough". Didn't ask if we'd like to add to the order or sample, just finished ringing us up. I think Jersey mikes tastes better, definitely less bitter, I might try one more time, but I didn't appreciate my kids sub being made wrong. Originally gave 3 stars but dropped it to two because they also didn't give us the cookies we ordered with our kid's meals.

Its a favorite sandwich of mine to eat anywhere I know there good. Well this is the 3rd chicken fried steak sandwich I've ordered from Dakotas in about a 10 or more knowing I was going to get the same thing. I ordered it today again. Like I said. It did not disappoint because I figured it wouldn't be very good. Well, darned if I was right. It was the size of a hub cap. Impressive right? After I pulled all the breading off that stuck out from under the bun. The real meat and breaded chicken fry was about the size of his hamburger patties. No, he doesnt use hamburger. However, I do believe who ever he buys his meat for his chicken fries from completely misses the boat. Today mine was so bad. I took two bites and I was done. I didnt/couldn't eat the toughest flavorless way the heck over breaded and as usual the worst i ever had. I told the waitress, she said she tried to eat one a few days ago and it was the same way. It wasn't very good. I just couldn't eat mine again today. Its the last one I'll order. This is a very successful restaurant. Great food if you dont mind the over cooked fried foods. Otherwise everything else is great. Average ticket price is at least 30+ $s for two people. I eat there often just not their chicken fry.
