After the sudden retirement of my barber, my quest has been to find a traditional barber. One who…read morethrough apprenticeship or attending barber school has mastered the art of cutting men's hair so that it looks great long after leaving the shop, instead of a hair stylist who cuts your hair so it looks good leaving the shop, but by the end of the day needs continual combing to appear acceptable. Additional bonus points for working in a shop with a TV in the corner and lots of well read magazines next to the chairs in the waiting area. (yes, I'm nostalgic for shops like "Floyds Barber Shop" in Mayberry, although with a modern update) This place comes close. I stopped here yesterday with no appointment. Just walked in. I was very happy to get seated right away. Scott (I think that's his name) got started on my hair and in a very short time had succeeded in reducing my overgrown mop to a short tight well groomed head of hair. So far so good. In fact after I was pleasantly surprised this morning that while I was getting ready for work today I noticed that I didnt even have to comb my hair. It fell into place. No comb needed. Based on that alone I will most likely go back. Did it feel like a traditional barber shop? For the most part yes. Scott felt a little new, but everyone's gotta start sometime, and with Mikael right next to him the traditional ways are passed on. I did miss the constant sound and feel of scissors as most of the cut was done with clippers. That's just picky, I know, but the results were unmistakably great. The one thing I did miss though was smelling like witch-hazel when I left. but then again, I'm old and that's not something most customers would miss. final judgement: Great cut, 2 thumbs way up!

Mike makes your time in his chair enjoyable. While he's cutting a precise style, he is engaging and…read morehumorous.

I've been to a lot of barber shops in my life time and I can honestly say I really like this shop…read more All the brothers that cut here are super cool. Most shops are loud, no customer service etc. But not here. I've seen them greet and act the same way since day one always courteous and respectful. My barber is Jason super cool brother and he can really cut. I don't have to explain myself he already knows what I want and it's perfect every time. I've watched all the brothers cut here and all of them are good so if you're in the area check them out!

I rarely ever go to a barber and by rarely I mean once a decade. Why?…read moreA) I'm too impatient and don't like to wait B) I've been cutting my own hair since I was 11 years old C) I'm too cheap to pay for something I can do myself for free D) I've actually had to recut my hair several times after visiting a new barber. Lately I've found myself too busy and too tired to cut my own hair. Since my yelp buddy Paul always has such a nice haircut, I thought I would check this place out being that he's the Duke and all. Timi greeted me on the phone and assured me he could have me in-and-out on time to get to my appointment across town. True to his word, he "whipped my butter" into shape and I was back on the road stylin' & profilin' in about 20 minutes. THE VERDICT At a cost of $18, it was way more expensive than the last time I got my hair cut, but Timi did an excellent job and I enjoyed the whole barber shop experience. It felt like I've been coming here for years. We talked politics, photography, travel and I even learned where I can get excellent egg rolls! Good music, great conversation... I will definitely be back! Since you guys liked my last lesson on urban slang, I gave ya two more: URBAN DICTIONARY * Whipped my butter = Get your hair cut and/or styled. * Stylin' & profilin' = Looking good
