Avoid at all costs. Really regret signing up kids here. A waste of money. Poor instructors, classes with up to 4 kids. Often my should would only get 4 walks up pool with teacher before class finishes. When I talk to other parents as I'm new to Parker, it's common sense that Dolphinz is a terrible swim school and nobody I know keeps their kids there for a long time. Plus, other parents who joined after me were paying less than me. I wouldn't mind if teaching was excellent and students got more attention for only a 30 mins class. read more

Terrible experience. Goal is to not advance your kid or teach them to swim until they have got as much money out of you as possible. If your kid learns to swim they know you will leave, so they don't allow them to progress. Our son was in lessons for almost a year and didn't learn to actually swim. Not because he couldn't, but because they wouldn't advance him. He had three swim instructors consecutively say he's ready to move on to the next "level", but when tested by the "Manager" the Manager would say no, because of different reasons (Kicks not high enough twice, hand moved him to the left a little once), which meant he couldn't go to the next level and learn the new skills he needed to swim. This happened 3 times where the instructor said he was ready and then the manager said no for the same level in consecutive classes, with different reasons given why he couldn't. These are the instructors saying my kid is ready to move. The manager brought up new reasons each time. When confronted on what the expectations were to move to the next level, the manager said they didn't have criteria for him to move to the next level. I asked well then how do they know, and he responded they have to swim from this side to this side and roll over, Etc. I advised he did those things. He said yeah, but then reverted to "the kicks were not high enough (or hand moved him slightly a different time)." I advised that's not the criteria he just gave and he didn't have an answer to give, he just would not advance him. I believe a class action lawsuit should happen, they're taking people's money and intentionally not allowing your kids to pass so they can make more money. We went for one lesson, and immediately withdrew our child from the class. She received about 4-6 minutes of actual instruction and the rest of the time was spent shivering or playing with water squirter toys. Another child in her class acted out the entire time and no disciplinary action was taken, and he demanded about 50% of the allotted time. With this being the case, we asked about private or semi-private options and the front desk staff was clueless and rude. We withdrew and just simply decided this was not for us. This was 6 weeks ago. Imagine my surprise when I received a falsified May progress report for the last month with my childs name on it in my inbox yesterday. This was attached to an email promoting their summer camp schedule. Its fine if you want to keep me on your email distribution list, but to also attach a progress report based on either the 4-6 minutes of instruction she received once 6 weeks ago OR is just completely falsified since she didn't go back and this is for MAY....either way, just a horrible way to promote your "business". I emailed and did not hear back. We chose an alternative facility for our child to swim and she is actually receiving more than 4-6 minutes of instruction. Very disappointed in this place. read more

We have been sending our 1 year old to weekly lessons for the last few months and we really enjoy it! The instructors are very reassuring with teaching our little one as many skills as they can considering her age. We're never uncomfortable with trying new things as they are really good with the little ones. The other great thing is that they use salt water in the pools which helps with not drying out her skin with chemicals. I recommend checking this place out to anyone who might be looking. read more

We've been really happy with our swim instruction so far at Dolphinz. My kids are hands down completely different swimmers since starting about 18 months ago. I can't wait to see how they swim in our neighborhood swimming pool this summer. Went to our first swim lesson yesterday for my 2 and 4 year olds. The teachers and life guards were so friendly and helpful when my kids were nervous! The water and the air is warm and comfortable for the swimmer! We can't wait to go to our next lesson! read more

My kids have been going to Dolphin Swimz since February this year and I cannot tell you how awesome this place is! The facility is always clean, the staff is amazing! Everyone from the lifeguards, instructors and staff at the counter! We've seen so much growth in our two kids and love watching them excel! Last night we celebrated our daughters 7th birthday there and we had a blast! I'm sort of torn on how many stars to give Dolphinz because for some aspects they are 5 stars & others...not so much. The Good: The facility is amazing. I love the salt water pool & not having to worry about chlorine in my kid's eyes & turning her hair green. I love the private changing rooms complete with hair dryer, mirror, bench, etc. The shower area is nice & large & the handheld shower nozzle is a nice amenity for parents who are fully dressed & don't want to get wet while showering their child. The parent area {with adjoining} play area for kids waiting for their lesson or waiting for their sibling to finish a lesson is good-though, as a relatively conservative family, I do wish the TV played more family friendly shows. We don't watch the news, court tv shows, etc. in front of our young kids & would rather they not be played at a business that caters to families. The Ok: Some of the staff was friendly but most seemed to be counting the minutes until they were off duty. There didn't seem to be much passion or enjoyment in teaching kids to swim. Our previous swim school greeted my kiddos by name when we arrived & would always say goodbye when we left. This wasn't so at Dolphinz. The Bad: I just can't get over that they are teaching kids to dive in 5 ft of water. According to Dolphinz, all instructors are American Red Cross certified. The American Red Cross does not recommend diving in water less than 8 feet deep. When I expressed my concerns to the owner she acknowledged that, yes, 5 ft is too shallow to be diving into but that the instructors were teaching the kids to "shallow dive" and they were not anywhere near the bottom. Of course, my daughter chose that time to surface after diving & announce "Mommy! I touched the bottom!" The staff was accommodating when I asked that my daughter be given another activity to work on while the others were learning diving but ultimately I felt the risk they were taking {the risk they acknowledged knowing about & yet still decided to take} was too much for me & we left the school. I can't help but wonder, if they are taking a risk with diving in shallow water, what other risks are they taking? And when it comes to my child learning water safety I can't see the benefit in any risk taking at all. read more

What a waste of money. Instructors are with students for maybe 8 minutes individually out of a 30 minute class? For the price you pay you are much, much better off going to your local rec center or pool. Owners are never there, I ask at desk to have them call me so I can address my concerns yet no replies back from either. The teachers can be heard gossiping back and forth about whatever issues they brought to work that day. Don't waste your time or money here unless you like a decent lounge area and amenities in the bathroom. read more

For most of the time my kid was here, the school was great. One day, we ran into an issue which involved one of the instructors acting in a way, on purpose or not, which I believe was a poor exercise of judgement and situational awareness. Everyone that I spoke to agreed. The manager on duty that night said that it would be dealt with immediately. I thanked her and requested a call from the owner. When she finally called me back, she offered no apology or even an acknowledgement of the issue. She defended the instructor and told me that my assessment of the situation was basically worthless. My 2 toddlers love it- 3 yr looks forward every week to go and now the 2 yr old has stopped crying after 3 visits. The staff is friendly & supportive, they take time with the kids and it is obvious the staff enjoys kids. Very patient. read more

When I was a stay at home Mom, I had zero complaints because I had a ton of flexibility to get my kids to lessons during the day. As a working parent, taking your kids to lessons here after 5pm or on Saturday is a total nightmare. They stack the classes to start every 15 min, so the parking lot is always full and chaotic. Also, the parents that sit at the window spread out over several chairs with their belongings, and the staff doesn't seem to care that only 5 or 6 parents can actually watch their child's lesson. It's disappointing to me that there aren't later class times offered - that the solution is to overload the very hectic hours of 5 & 6pm. Swim instruction has been alright. Instructors come and go quite a bit... we're just done with the lack of accommodation for working families. read more

I absolutely love it here! If you do your research on diving on the pool remember that you should be looking at diving off diving blocks or the side of the pool because that what dolphinz has. Although I have only seen them dive off the side of the pool. From what I have seen 5-6ft is what is recommended. But that as long as you are in a teaching environment with teachers who are experienced and know what they are doing 5 ft is perfectly acceptable. Also only the older kids learn diving and you can always ask them not to teach your child diving if it makes you uncomfortable. I have honestly NEVER heard the teachers gossip. they are all 100% focused on what is happening in the pool. From what I have watched. Maybe that person heard them talking in their break room. In which case I say that's OK. Its their break, in their break room, with a closed door. All I can judge and give my recommendation on is my experience. they have made crazy progress with my daughter. The speed of progress changes depending on the teacher. The life guards are always right there when any kid I have seen had any behavior that might become unsafe. The kids in any of the classes are having fun. I love it there. There is always enough dressing rooms, bathrooms, and showers. The salt water is way better than the chlorine. The showers and dressing rooms have hair dryers. The waiting and play area are nice to wait in. read more

my little angel, lukas, takes swim lessons here on thursdays. His instructor used to be a funny little woman named kelly but who knows where the frick she has been lately. now his instructor is some random boi. They refuse to call him by his preferred pronouns even though he identifies as an 11 year old cocker spaniel which makes him cry. Kelly used to handle his fits very well by telling him that if he didn't stop crying a shark would come out from under the bench and eat him. but his new instructor actually makes him keep swimming??!!????? the little pink bathroom is our favorite because it's so homey !! the place kinda smells like alcohol and a stale cheese platter but the overwhelming stench of pool chemicals balances it out! this place is a walking health code violation but the snack section is the bomb ! also dolphinS is spelt with an S not a Z you freaking idiots. love this establishment!!! kisses!!! read more

I agree with all the poor reviews. Staff is immature, unprofessional and would rather talk to each other. The young male Life guard - I doubt is certified he did everything a lifeguard is not supposed to do. Makes me wonder if staff is certified. Staff is not welcoming to the kids. Owners are never around to address any concerns. This is extremely disturbing especially when it comes to safety. They obviously do not keep safety a priority and have no intention to. I presume they will get sued someday. We no longer go and absolutely would never recommend it. If you want a fun, safe environment with professional trained staff send your children somewhere else. read more

Horrible customer service!!! In order to register you have to pay $25 and after you register and pay no one tries to schedule anything with you. After getting a hold of them after weeks I tried to schedule my two kids in lessons around the same time. They told me that the classes were full for the guppies class and in order for me to get into a class I would need to call everyday to check and see if someone dropped out of the class that day. I asked if it was realistic for me to call every day and they said, "Well if you want your kids in class around the same time that bad, then you can give up 5 minutes of the day to check with us". And then when I asked for my refund they said, 'it will take up to 8 weeks so please check back then?" I thought this was a joke and I was blown away by the rudeness, I've never received such horrible customer service! I don't know who runs this place but they need some management/customer service training. read more

I am so disappointed with Dolphinz! After sending my kids there for over a year, I've finally had enough of the unprofessional business dealings. First of all, they will under no circumstance, allow for makeup lessons. If you have a sick child, you're not allowed to cancel or reschedule. If you take a vacation and miss a week, too bad. When I asked why, they said they still have to pay the instructor to be there whether the child shows or not. I'm sorry, but I don't think that is a good excuse. I could understand charging for "no-shows", but they could at least implement a re-scheduling program if you call prior to a scheduled lesson. They also told me the "no-make-up policy" is the same at every swimming school around. I decided to find out... The first swimming school I called said they CAN schedule make-up classes, no problem! GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT DOLPHINZ!!! I'm done paying for lessons that we can't always use! Secondly, they bill for classes one month in advance. That policy in itself is fine. But once again, if you miss a class, it is already paid for. No refund or re-scheduling. They do not mail, email or hand out any invoices, bills, or statements. It is entirety up to you to keep track of your payments and due dates to them. That might be frustrating for some busy moms out there! The one star I give them is for the instructors. They are what kept me coming back as long as I did. My kids learned quickly, correctly, and enjoyed each lesson. If I didn't mind paying for all the lessons I can't use if my kids get sick, I'd continue going to Dolphinz. read more

I don't get the bad reviews, I love this school and have seen my kids grow leaps and bounds. We've been with them for over a year with all three kids. Most of the staff is young (they are teaching swim lessons for crying out loud) but they have always been professional with me, helpful, and answered any and all of my questions. I had all three of my kids in rec center lessons and they never learned anything, it was inconsistent and really just playtime, so I was super impressed when after only a few months, my oldest was really swimming and super confident in the water. It was also awesome to see her incorporating what she had learned when we were at the pool for fun. I totally recommend this place all the time! read more

This place is fabulous! My kids could not swim at all and after twice a week lessons for two months, they are little fish and I don't even have to get in the pool with them anymore. This place is so dirty. The carpet is never vacuumed, the glass where parents can watch their children are so filthy, the bathrooms are disgusting, the tables and chairs are equally gross. The staff is just ridiculous overall. They all have sodas and other sugary beverages in the pool area, which is disgusting. I am not against having a drink but in a business like this water seems to be the obvious professional choice. There doesn't seem to be much consistency all around, but rather a social hang out for many of the employees. The classes themselves are ok, they learn a lot of excellent skills. Unfortunately the unsanitary conditions make it a pretty disgusting experience. read more

While some instructors are amazing, others seem to just see this as just a job. While they exceed in many different things, some of their cons are just too much. I've seen instructors stop paying attention to their children, leading to lifeguards leaping in after the children when they go under several times. Everything but the safety is spot on, which is what led me to take my child OUT of swim lessons at Dolphinz. Safety comes first. read more

I recommended this school to another mom who is interested in having her child take swim lessons and thought of adding it on here. I'm quite surprised to see a couple of bad reviews but very happy to see so many good ones! We have been taking our 10 and 4 year old here since July after reviewing their policies on the website and talking with some of the staff. They were very helpful and friendly and were able to put our children in classes that started next to each other. They try to accommodate everyone's needs, it just depends on if the class is full or not for the time requested. I put my name in for the adult lesson. At the time the class was full. They called me about 2 weeks later stating there was a slot open. I did not have to follow up, they called me.The classes have maximum of 4 kids to a class which is a nice change from another place where my son had a lesson (where there were more than 20 kids in the class and very cold water.) Here at Dolphinz the water is very warm and extremely clean! We knew there weren't any makeup classes should we miss one because of the limited class size, which makes sense (and also listed in the polices). We are able to see our account anytime online through the customer portal to check invoices, payments, etc. The staff and instructors are adamant about swim survival techniques and teach it from the very first lesson and on. My son's instructor has been a blessing for us. Her teaching philosophy is remarkable and has been working with my son and his anxiety about the water. He is a water baby now! She's been my adult instructor and has helped me overcome my childhood fear of almost drowning as young child and now I am learning to swim. We are so grateful for this school and their staff and instructors. read more

We are doing private lessons with my 5 year old son once a week, who has had sensory issues, and they are wonderful with him. I love the wall of windows so you can watch everything that happens, that they do a show-n-tell once a month to keep you up to date on your child's progress, and they send out progress reports too. It took my son a little over 6 months, but he's finally okay putting his face in the water and going under! They are very patient and kind. read more

We've been going to Dolphinz since shortly after they opened. The staff are extremely friendly, the pool is heated, and they use salt water. We tried several local swim schools before settling on Dolphinz and have not looked back. They have the same staff/student ratio as other places: 4 students to one teacher. Yes, this means that, out of 30 minutes, your child only gets about 7 minutes of 'one on one' teaching but they do give the option of paying extra for private classes if you desire that. I am happy to pay for that, though, as the teachers know what they are talking about (unlike my experiences with local rec center instructors). My kids have been moving up through levels rapidly thanks to the good instruction they receive here. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that I wish they taught more safety for the babies. They do teach kids how to climb out of the pool, how to do 'monkey crawls', swim, float, swim etc... but I would like an even greater focus on things like what to do if they fall in. I have not found anywhere in Denver that focusses on this aspect as much as I would like. All in all, Dolphinz is a great facility which really cares for it's students. Definitely worth looking into if you are looking for a swim school in the Parker area. read more

My kids have been going here for over a year, and I recommend it to everyone. The classes are about 4 kiddos per class (as the schedules of families change, sometimes we have had classes where it was just my kiddo- which was awesome!). They are grouped by ability level. I love that the kids are taught to go to their back when they are tired. They are taught what it feels like to be in the water with clothes on (just in case they ever fell in). I feel safety is a priority. I regularly see someone cleaning the pool deck. My kids have loved each instructor they have had. They are greeted by name. All the staff is friendly, from the front desk to the lifeguards. They get a lot of instruction time in their session. I like that the teachers all teach the same techniques, so even when there is a sub, the kids are still learning the same way. We have been extremely pleased with Dolphinz and will continue to recommend it to others. read more
