We didn't expect a beach restaurant with that view and location to be very special when it comes…read moreabout food. But it definitely was. Besides some fast food options they serve really well made seafood. We had the shrimp (with cheese fries) and a pot of mussels. Both cooked to perfection, fresh and nicely spiced (and not over-spiced). Staff was friendly, food arrived fast - despite the place being packed. Our English Bulldog was welcome in the outside area. Great food, fair prices. Fantastic location. What else you need. A really good place to grab a bit, a beer - before or after visiting the beach.

This time round we were placed a table at the centre of the dining room and I had a fine view of the kitchen and the staff, as they dedicatedly went about their business. My partner had a view of the bay out front. For starters I went for the Beef Carpaccio with Watercress, White Truffle Oil & Reggiano Parmesan and my partner the Seared Fowey Scallops with Crispy Belly Pork, Celeriac Puree & Caper Sauce. The Carpaccio was very tasty and I got plenty of it. I cleared my plate of it all and its accompaniments. My partners enjoyed his Scallops with Pork Belly. For the mains I opted for the Risotto of Summer with Parmesan Crisps and my partner the L.A.B. Tiger Prawn & Spiced Monkfish Curry. I loved the risotto, it was full of crunchy green vegetables and the risotto was a lovely creamy consistency. I would recommend it. My partner really enjoyed his curry and thought it was top notch for a restaurant that wasn't a curry house. We ordered the San Antonio Pinot Grigio, which was a grand wine to go with our meal. It was £12.50 For dessert we both ordered the Chocolate Fondant. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate ganache truffle. The fondant was fine, nothing to write home about and we both have had much better. The ice cream went with it perfectly though. However the ganache was too much with the fondant. It was just too much chocolate and cocoa for one dessert. The staff amused me. They appeared to be all young hip surfer types working for the summer in the ideal location for their outdoor pursuits. Our waitress was very charming and helpful, as all the staff appeared to be. It was a pleasant night and we will be back, if we are in the area again.

This has got to be one of the oldest pubs in South Wales, it's medieval and dates from 1380. This is one of those places that reminds you how small we used to be - I'm only 5ft 7 and I stoop through the worn wooden doors. I havn't eaten here, but there is also a well respected restaurant upstairs offering a good selection of seafood dishes. Dishes include: Brixham Crab Cake with baby leaves and lemon butter sauce (£5.25); Plaice Goujons with paprika and a sweet red pepper tartar sauce (£4.95); Roasted Fillet of Hake with a chorizo and roasted red pepper risotto ith tomato, garlic and orange sauce for £13.95 For the vegetarians on the day I visited there was: Tomato Fondue, Wild Mushroom and Aubergine Bake, finished with garlic crumb and poached egg (£4.95) and Rosemary and Truffle Arancini Risotto with a tomato, red onion and spring onion salsa ( £4.95). The restaurant opening times are Monday to Saturday from 7pm to 9.30pm. They also offer bar meals between 12 and 2 pm Mondays to Saturdays and evening meals Monday to Friday from 6 to 8 pm.

Although, guys... if you happen to be on a date in Swansea and want some place to take your date, stop in here because she'll be impressed. While they are known for their seafood, if you are not a fan of seafood there are options for you as well! We were late for our reservation, but they still sat us. Not only were we there in a group, but there were couples, and even a few families, so it appears as though it is popular with a wide range of people. I shared a starter with my date... it was scallops with a side of laverbread. It was the first time I had laverbread and unfortunately I just didn't like it, but my date really seemed to enjoy it. The scallops were wonderful! Don't think I've ever had scallops so fresh. I ordered the salmon with a nicoise salad. The salmon was just done wonderfully... not overcooked at all. The nicoise salad... garnish... whatever it was, I was not as impressed with it. I did have the sauteed potatoes, which were wonderful as well! My date had the scallops, sea bass, and seafood parcel. I tasted the sea bass and it was even better than my salmon! For dessert, we had the trio of bread pudding, apple pie, and creme brulee... Skip the trio and go for the bread pudding. Out of the three it was the best and I had wished I had just ordered the bread pudding! The staff were very attentive and very patient with us... there was quite a bit of wine and bubbly flowing, so you can imagine that our table may have been a handful for them, but they handled it very well! I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere (no, not just because of the wine and champagne...) and hope to go back and try some of the other dishes... and of course have more of that bread pudding!

I think the best way to describe it is an expensive restaurant for Cardiff standards, while offering get up and order from the counter service. We all had the fish pie which was lovely, however the price did not reflect the food, even if it was a nice fish pie. We spent many years in London dining, but we paid London prices but did not receive London food or servings to reflect the price. What did not help the venue was the ambiance. While dinner had a great atmosphere, lunch was depressing. Empty quiet and dead light upstairs. There were lots of staff on, however only one could speak enough English to actually tell us about the menu or hold a conversation. Just to ask questions of the menu was an ordeal. All in all it's sad after we enjoyed it so much the first time. Who knows in the future we may try again

One day I got sent to Le Monde, to be a waitress for a big event they were hosting - something about the launch of a new wine? Someone did tell me but I didn't really listen that well... Anyway, so I know from that experience that the food is prepared well and safely. Not that I usually worry but it's an extra point. The food here is quite pricey but I do feel that it's really worth it. Sometimes you've just got to splash the cash a little to get some decent food. And it's worth it. I left feeling full of light, delicious, high-standard cuisine. The service was also great. Full marks all round, Le Monde!
