Thank you so very much, Windsor Plywood of Parksville!! Long story, short, the lumber was never delivered, but he is thriving. In fact, he called Windsor Plywood in Parksville today, over a YEAR later, and asked if a partial refund with a restocking fee would be possible. The store manager gave him a FULL refund, no restocking fee, and immediately credited his credit card, which means, as my Dad, so intelligently pointed out, it cost them money in credit card fees twice over and they didn't ask for a dime in consideration! We thought this level of customer service no longer existed. We are so grateful to Windsor Plywood for proving us so wrong. If you need lumber, get it from Windsor Plywood - they treat you right!

We were able to purchase the special tools, plywood, maple planking and small parts from just this one store, and we gots lots of excellent advice too. Thanks especially to Gene for finding all the right small parts and for his patient trials to help us pick the right stains and urethane finish. If you love wood and you're a Do-it-Yourselfer, I think Windsor Plywood Parksville is a great place to start your next project.

We purchased vinyl plank flooring from this store. Their salesman talks a good line about how he…read morehas great installers and recommended someone to do not just our flooring but also to replace our double shower stall in the bathroom. We stupidly thought he would recommend someone who knew what they were doing. We had 3 weeks of very short working days (sometimes only 3 hours) so the job was going on and on. At the 3 week point, not one room in the house was finished. There were bits and pieces of trim left undone, bits of wood with nails lying around....and then they didn't show up at all one day. We didn't get even the courtesy of a phone call to let us know they would not be showing up. The 2nd time that happened in the same week, we'd had enough and told him it was over. He said he was too busy to show up that day because he works for a strata - that's more important. The way they treated our time showed a lack of respect. He sent his son the next day to finish the hall.....see picture - 2 3/4" inches out in a short hallway.....kind of like the carnival fun house feeling when you go down the hall because it's so crookedly laid. To date we have spent almost $1200 on finishing and redoing. And more to come - the big one with the floor having to be taken up in the hall and reinstalled. And all trim having to be redone. The carpet installer sent from the store sat here when she came to do the estimate and talked about how the last people she had worked for had not given her a big enough tip and she was not happy. We're getting carpeting from a flooring store in Parksville. Someone else is doing our bathroom. The salesman at the store does not seem too bothered at all by this. I guess it's business as usual. After speaking to the salesman about this, my husband came home to tell me that the plants were all on sale in the garden centre. But this business will not be getting another penny of my money. And people in the neighborhood who have asked how the reno is going......well, you can imagine yourself whether they will give them a try. This flooring department might be good if you are a do-it-yourselfer and do not rely on a solid (or even halfway good) recommendation.

This company puts out inferior products and doesn't stand by their quality. I placed a large order…read moreof Douglas Fir for a log home, everything from milled stained flooring, clear tongue and grooved material for ceilings and soffit as well as all the interior trim. The Fir wasn't dried properly so excessive cupping took place. The stain was horrible, hiding all of the elegance of the natural grain. The clear finish was sprayed so lightly it allowed for mildew to take hold. These issues were not anything near as troublesome as the problem we encountered with the flooring. The flooring that was sent was actually varying in width by upwards of 5/16" . Brian the owner, sent over his sawyer as he didn't believe this to be true. When the gentleman arrived with a vernier he did verify that this was in fact the case. We were told he would take care of this but he instead left us hanging and wouldn't return phone calls. We ended up buying replacement engineered flooring as we were in a panic with trades waiting on us. This was a knee jerk reaction as we ended up not using the replacement flooring and paid to have each of the original flooring checked for width and sorted so that we could lay same width pieces (3000 sq.ft.). This took a great deal of time and when we laid it we had to refinish and use filler which during expansion and contraction of the first year all separated leaving large gaps. This company like i said does "not" stand behind their work and when confronted down plays the issue and doesn't get back to you (not to mention the verbal abuse). I wouldn't recommend this company to save my life. Beware and be very cautious. The owner is far from reputable! NO STARS ACTUALLY, BUT IT WOULDN'T LET ME LEAVE MY POST!!!!
