(About a 30 minute walk back, although the hill is killer!) This location is always clean and always has a decent amount of staff working on hand. Got a question about a location of an item on the shelves? Ask - it's easy to find staff at this location. (They also know what they are talking about - I've saved a ton of time asking the staff about items instead of searching for them.) This location sports a ton of cooking implements, food (both junk and staples), seasonal stuff, and a lot of school supplies. I've never had a problem with staff ringing up the wrong prices or finding broken and opened stuff on the shelves like in other locations. It is a pleasure to shop here, and it is usually quiet enough so that you don't feel like you are being crowded into the store! * Beware of lunch hour and the kids from the high school across the street - it can get noisy and annoying in here.

But we like this particular Dollarama, because it's in Seaway Mall, which is one of the last of what I consider "real" shopping malls in the area. (A "real" shopping mall being defined as one where you can walk between the stores without getting rained on.) In fact, we find it particularly fun shopping at Seaway Mall, because it's the site where a "Christmas Food Court Flash Mob, Hallelujah Chorus" was taped about ten years ago. (About three months before I moved to the area, so I missed the event.) There is plenty of parking in front of the store. I found a spot, parked my car, and walked in. Valentine's Day had just ended. There were lots of clearance chocolate and plushies. There were also Easter candies and merchandise next to the Valentine's Day items. Pretty much everything at the Dollar Tree is $1.25. There are exceptions, though. Canned pop was going for $1. I was happy to stumble upon this tidbit of information. I do wish that Dollar Tree stores in Canada had a frozen food section with breakfast items and ice cream like their stores over the border do. Instead, I looked at all the candy, chocolate, and chips that I wanted, but had enough willpower to put down. I ended up getting a cute eyeglasses case with elephants on it. I was so pleased with my find. It was the only one left and I love elephants. Kathy was the cashier and she was so nice. She asked me if I wanted a little bag. I declined, saying that it seemed meta to ask for a bag for a case. She shared her story about one man who wanted a bag for each item that he had bought. They were small items. Yikes! They're laid out similarly, and they carry similar products, although we have learned to try multiple locations if we're looking for something specific, because we've learned that we can find stuff in other Dollaramas that we've never seen in the one closest to us. Although this particular Dollarama is a particular favourite of ours, partly because we just like Port Colborne. (It's kind of cool to say freighters cruising through the countryside, albeit a little disconcerting if you didn't know the canal was there.) We also like it because it's right next to a No Frills, across the street from a Harvey's, and not too far from Food Basics, so we can score a lot of what we're looking for in a single trip.

I'm glad I did because they had everything I need at very decent prices. This is definitely different than a discount store in the state. It's, as they have everything from clothing, to electronics, to meet and seafood, and all kinds of other things in between. The storage itself was very neatly organized and I was able to find everything in record time. That means a lot, as I hate walking around and having to do a hunt and search for basic items.
