There's been a lot of talk about Trosa Thrift store around town lately. I've seen it all over…read moresocial media so a friend and I decided to check it out on a Friday afternoon. Trosa is located on Peters Creek Hwy in the Food Lion strip center at the Clemmonsville exit. It's easy to get to and there's plenty of parking which I love. Right inside the door is their whole furniture section, they have tons of tables, chairs, dressers , etc. they even have a whole section of office specific furniture. The prices are very reasonable. This would be a furniture flippers paradise. Towards the back they have shelves of everything from pillows to whole sets of dishes, sports equipment and the most medical mobility equipment I've ever seen anywhere. I'd say, if you are in need of a walker, a bath seat or portable toilet for someone look here because they probably have it at a fraction of the cost it would be to purchase new or rent. The clothing is grouped all together but they aren't keeping it organized as well as it needs to be. All different sizes were mixed in together and I quickly got frustrated and gave up. Both of us had found an item in the kitchen area we wanted so we headed to check out. The workers were very friendly as well. I'll definitely be checking out Trosa regularly in the future. Trosa supports substance abuse treatment. If you want to donate to them, they offer pick up for larger items or you can bring your items to their donation drop off around the back of the store. Just follow the signs.

I love going to this thrift store because of their large display of used clothes, it is clean,…read moreorganized and wide isles in between displays to allow easy use of shopping carts without restricting other shoppers. But some women still find a way to park their shopping cart right next to the display, she got mad at me for moving her cart. Excellent variety of used clothes for all ages. Lately somewhere in the last quarter of 2025, there was a clean up and the variety of clothes they carry seems to change, I no longer find the kind of clothes I look for, these at natural fiber fabrics especially wool and linen clothings which were abundant before. I don't know if they had a geographical change of where they source their used clothes or a change in supplier? I still go there to look at what's available although my visits have decreased since the change I mentioned. I still highly recommend this place to my coworkers and friends who are into thrifting. It's a good way to be better dressed at significantly lower cost.

The produce is okay, but more times than not, you'll see well past their due for the trash berries on the shelves. The food variety for more healthy items that you would find at other stores isn't always available here but that is to be expected. Of the items they carry, they are normally well stocked. The staff are very friendly that work here! The reason for the 3 stars is the grocery pick up is somewhat hit or miss. Many occasions, I will get orders with items that sell by dates are the day I'm picking them up or even expired items. Additionally, items are placed as "out of stock" on the pickup list, but then not even tried to be substituted. The next issue isn't this locations fault but the chat system with shoppers is very difficult to use for communication. Some shoppers will use the app to ask about substitutions, while others do not. The store is very clean and well maintained. I believe if the issues with pickup could be remedied, this store could definitely hit at least 4 stars!
