It's so clean and organized. Please stay that way

So far, I've been impressed with this brand new Dollar Tree. The store has been incredibly neat and organized both times I have been in to get random things. The lines can still be a little long but the employees have all been friendly. Looking forward to many more trips here for greeting cards, gift bags, batteries, school supplies, etc because you can't beat the price!

Starting on Saturday the line is around the corner of the building with people waiting to get a deal. The warehouse is lined with wooden crates that are full of everything you can imagine from toys to blankets to household items. There are a couple of rules but they're pretty straight forward. Shopping: Adults 16 and older are given a large blue IKEA bag. Whatever you can fit in it you can buy for only $7! That's every single item in the store. Once the bag is full you have to pay but you can come back in as many times as you want. If there is a box you want opened to see inside just ask a store employee and they will be happy to help you. Opening it on your own will get you kicked out. Only a certain amount of people are allowed in at a time so you may have to wait. No large bags or purses are allowed inside so just bring your wallet. They take cash or card. Don't drag the blue bags because they will rip. Saturday's everything is $7, Sunday it's $5. Parking: parking is limited on busy days. The Goose Creek police are there on weekends to help with traffic control and making sure everyone behaves. Don't park in the local business parking spots or you'll get towed. You can line the roadway against the grass closer to the train tracks. Food: Yes! Food trucks are here on the weekend serving out delicious food for hungry shoppers. The staff is really friendly and helpful. You never know what you'll find hidden under the piles so have fun!

Located somewhat by Big Lots on Dorchester in a very safe section of town, this Dollar General…read moreisn't as bad but falls well behind one of its sister stores. Walking in there isn't much that distinguish it from other discount stores but it's far from the worst (see my other likeminded reviews). The employees are pretty nice but extremely quiet and distracted. As for the cleanliness it falls back. There is stock laying around, junk on the floor and the shelves were poorly stocked. I understand having to restock shelves but as you can see in the pictures, this stuff has been laying around for a while and needs some TLC. What's more is it makes it difficult for those with health issues to navigate. As for the items they're a little behind on the trends. For instance, most other places a month or a little more before July 4th we would see flags and stuff, but not here, not yet. The atmosphere isn't drab but is far from cozy. I felt the urge to get in and out quickly. I can't state why it's just how my skin felt. That and I was disappointed that I couldn't find the item I was hunting for and I had to dig through the crap on the shelves. Overall, this is exactly what I would expect from a discount store, hence the reason I rarely go. I'm not sure when discount stores stopped giving discounts but isn't that the whole reason to stopping by!? The service is slow from people that would rather be elsewhere. At noon on a Sunday there's crap laying around everywhere as if someone will address it tomorrow or whenever. The place is safe but has an odd vibe. Since this isn't close to where I live, I don't see myself coming back.

Planning a down and out right side, two middle passes and a deep route, left end zone and double back would give me the jist. Without question, the largest selection on bedding save the big department stores and their tremendous selections. Caught off guard by the kitchen appliances (stoves & refrigerators) all looking to be in new condition -- but I was on the move. Seasonal and holiday product is concentrated towards the front and up the middle in an upside down 'T' shape. So after checking out the tremendous selection of toys (glad to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are still popular -- the 4 foot Donatello was tempting me) I grabbed some cleaning products and personal hygiene stuff -- can you ever realky have enough old school Listerine? Yes, you can and boy o boy do I ever. Pilot and Zebra make gel tipped pens I REALLY like, they aren't cheap at Staples or Office Max or even online, scored the only two packs they had. Two lines notebooks, 180 pagers of very nice quality, thank you notes, blank note cards transitioning and finishing up with caramel popcorn for the ride home --- none of which out any strain on my wallet.

You're met with eye rolls and teeth sucking before they give you a general direction of where to look. My last trip there, I was standing in the line, waiting for a register for almost 20 minutes. There were only two cashiers working. One was doing a price check on a fishing pole, and the other was having some sort of issue with ringing up items. She had to have a manager and another employee try to help her. Meanwhile, the line just kept getting longer. Finally, when both registers cleared, the cashier for register 1 called out "Next in line, please.". The cashier on register 2 just yelled out "Two.". As a man and a young lady were walking up to that register, the cashier said loudly "Come on! Two. Hurry up.". She was standing there with the employee that tried to help her ring up her last customer. When the man put his items on the counter, the cashier asked how he was doing, and he said "Not good.". She asked why and he told her he had stood in line for over 15 minutes to get checked out. The cashier and the other employee started telling him "We are just workers." over and over. The man didn't say anything else, he finished his transaction and he and the young lady left. I was standing in the line, directly behind the registers and heard both employees making racial comments before the cashier called the next person in line. The cashier told the other employee, "Cracker thinks we in a hurry.". The other employee responded, "They're white, go figure they'd be like that.". I looked at my two children and I left my items on the shelf in the line and we left. A manager was standing right by the registers, talking with a security guar. I highly doubt the manager even paid attention to what happened, because he and the guard were too busy staring at a woman and her teenaged daughter doing something near the registers. Seeing how this business employees individuals like that, I will not shop there again. Racism is racism, plain and simple.
