It's a Dollar Tree. While they seem to have gotten better over the years, it's still a dollar tree. You get what you pay for.

However they no longer have a public restroom and i think thats really upsetting to someone like me who spends over an hour here. I go next door to use the restroom now and thats upsetting. I understand there reasons as the cash register lady said its because other people ruined it for us (i assume they probably made the bathroom all gross) i don't know because i didn't ask for further info but aside from not having a public bathroom anymore this place is my favorite in terms of shopping. I love the selection of books and extremely affordable pet stuff. Ive gotten treats for dogs like a pack of 10 for 98 cents so its really good for people like me who live off of disability checks so a tight income lol. Its great here and i love it!

When you come to Ollie's, bring your "forever" list-- the things that are always on your mind to pick up when the price is right. Life is like a [bargain outlet,] you never know what you're going to [find.] Forrest Gump, extreme poetic license employed. Ollie's is a great bargain shopping experience-- complete with hunting and digging, that's part of the fun! If you see something that makes your heart flutter, grab it now. They are not able to rain check and might never get it in again. The returns are zero hassle.. I've even come in without receipt. The trick to seamless Ollieness? Register for a store card. I'm told that you get 15% off your first purchase with the card. Ollie's has some "always" items. Save a ton on bedding and window covers here. I'm going home right now with utterly decadent pillows cheap cheap cheap!

I will give them five stars because I've had very positive experiences with their customer service…read more I found their cashiers to be helpful and very much accommodating. I saw that some reviewers had different experiences, but those appear to be from long ago. A few points raised in another review: First, the lack of bathrooms. Sorry, but that's typical for bin stores. I'm sure that this partly to minimize theft or tampering with the products (opening boxes, etc). Speaking of which.... Second,... YES, they don't allow customers to open boxes. That's a good way for the contents to be strewn around and misplaced. That happened a lot at the Where Ya Bin store in Solon, so we should not be surprised that this kind of behavior is forbidden. Third... I understand that it's inconvenient to have the cashiers open the boxes up. The idea of having a separate, dedicated employee open up the boxes, however, is just bonkers. For a small store like this, there can't possibly be enough work for such a person, and hiring one would doubtlessly drive the prices up. It would be nice if the prices would drop below $1, but I can't really complain. They still offer pretty good deals... certainly better than what I've seen at a few other stores.

The layout of the store is pretty good but could feel crowded if there are lots of people inside. There is plenty of parking in front of the building- I've never had an issue with parking. My favorite thing about this thrift store? It directly benefits the Humane Society of Summit County!

Happy Trails Thrift Shop is one of my regular stops when I am out thrifting in the Akron area…read more Located on Merriman Road just South of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Happy Trails is a great place to shop. The shop has a nice variety of decor, knickknacks, kitchenware, jewelry, collectibles, art books and lots of other stuff; they do not carry clothes, shoes and similar items. The thrift shop benefits the Summit Humane Society, so they have a nice selection of pet supplies and toys. I enjoy Happy Trails for the collectibles and art items. Over the years I have gotten a number of interesting items, recently I picked up a small carved Asian wood panel and a small replica Samuri helmet. I have also picked up pans, collectible pins and a backpack from Happy Trails. You can never be sure what they will have for sale, but they always have an interesting selection. They also have some really good high-end items most of which are up front near the register; they also usually have some nice antiques or vintage items. Overall prices are very reasonable especially because of the quality of the items they are offering. If you are in the area a stop at Happy Trails Thrift is well worth your time, they always have some fun items and great selection. Plus it is great to help support the Humane Society either by donating or buying something at the store. The staff at the store are wonderful and very friendly.
