One of the WORST Dollar Trees in DeSoto County this place doesn't even deserve a star because the workers here can't do the job here they're paid to do and need some people skills. This place is a real dump with the rudest staff I have ever encountered. NO one takes any pride in the store at all. Stuff thrown all over the place like a bunch of crap. Clearly was bothering the cashier but maybe not as much as the older WHITE lady ahead of me. she was treated even worse. YES DOLLAR TREE SOUTHAVEN your team / store is staffed with racist. The complete discount store where everything is just $1. That's right, every item is only one dollar in this store. This makes it easy to estimate what you pay at the front register. The customer service at checkout is a little bit above average. I feel like I will come back and shop at this store as long as I don't move again. This is one of my favorite areas to shop at as they have lots of stores around here that I am a regular at. What do they have here? They have pens, toys, envelopes, posters, books, crafts, cleaning supplies, soap, dish liquid, balloons, decorations, bows, greeting cards, candy, paper cups, paper plates, plastic silverware, air freshener, lighters, glasses, painting supplies and accessories, bulbs, cookies, ice cream, lemonade and art supplies and etc. You can also get some of the best sweet tea by Turkey Hill for of course $1. read more

Dollar Tree is usually my go-to for last minute office/school supplies, candy, gift bags, or quick-fix items when I find myself in a bind and doing my best to avoid major stores. Especially this particular location since the expanded! But, they have greatly, and rapidly, declined. Yesterday the entire floor was sticky and dirty. Boxes were everywhere, with no sign of any stockers actually working with these boxes. Items set on the floor instead of shelves, or simply piled up on top of each other. I took a few photos, but couldn't even make my way to the other side of the store due to boxes and crowded isles. There is only ever one register open with a line of customers extending into the actual isles. The first time I saw the store this way I thought nothing of it, understanding that things get chaotic from time to time. However it seems to have become the norm over the past couple years. Disappointing compared to what it once was. I guess I'll have to find a new go-to quick spot. read more

Today I had a very bad experience at this particular dollar tree. The manager Kimberly gave me a very distasteful attitude after she made a mistake during the transaction. I walked up to the register and she started by just ringing my items without greeting me. Once my items were rang completely, my total came to $8.56 cents. I gave her a $20 dollar bill and 60 cents. She then opened her cash drawer and put the money in and only gave me back $2.04. I proceeded to inform her that I gave her a $20 dollar bill and 60 cents. She looked at me and then asked me was I sure. I said yes I'm 100 percent sure that I gave you a $20 bill. She rudely called the next employee at the adjacent register and told her to ring the next customer that was standing behind me. She opened the cash drawer, snatching it out and walking to the back of the store she closed the door behind her without warning me or politely telling me that she had to count the drawer to give me the $10 that I was owed. I could hear her counting the money in the back room with the door closed. About a minute or two later she walked out and came back to the register and put the drawer back in and handed me a $10 bill. I then looked at her, expecting a reaction, or an explanation for her abrupt behavior and attitude, as if I had lied about giving her a $20 bill. I then said to her, "ma'am you could have explained to me that you had to count the drawer, and apologized for pretty much indicating that I lied to you. A simple sorry for the inconvenience would have been nice". She then went on to reply and said," you ain't even give me time to say nothing, why is you starting mess". I told her that I was not starting anything, It is just simple courtesy and customer service to apologize or to rectify a mishap. I then asked her for her name and she said "what I need her information for". I then replied, by asking the next cashier if she was a manager, the other cashier said no and I went back and asked Kimberly her name. She then said, "my name is Kim." I said," okay thank you Kim", then I left the store. The reason why I took so much time out of my day to write a review is because this situation really hurt me. I always enjoy dollar tree because of the low prices and the quick in and out experience. Today I felt like a criminal because Kimberly made me feel as though I had lied to her about my exchange of money. It was very sad to see that a young beautiful lady such as herself conducted such repulsive customer service and that she does that while serving in a managerial position. I am not sure if she had a bad day or even if she knew how inappropriate she behaved today. I hope she does not ever do that to another customer again. I also hope that as a manger she learns to treat every one with upstanding customer service and courtesy. I have never written a negative review on anyone but hopefully my voice will ensure that this doesn't happen again. I hope Kimberly can take her manager position more seriously and aim to be the best customer service provider in the store. I will not be shopping here again. read more
