What concerns me is the amount of boxes ALL OVER THE STORE! No exaggeration, almost every aisle had stacks of boxes filled with merchandise that needed to be stocked. It was difficult to shop in. Shopping carts could not fit through every aisle. WORST THING: walls of boxes COMPLETELY BLOCKED THE FIRE EXITS! This is a big deal. If there was an emergency (including a robbery, active shooter, etc) customers would be trapped! I've only shopped here once, so I don't know if this is normal or an outlier? All the freight contributed to a messy store appearance. But the few workers were working hard to restock the shelves. They didn't have the item I needed ... but maybe it was in a box somewhere!!! I went shopping a day ago getting out class with my backpack and my bike. Walked in thinking it would be safe to shop there, as the outside of the building it say the whole place is security footage. Thinking my backpack would be safe placed it in the cart as I was shopping- there are cameras everywhere. WRONG! When I left the cart to get something on a cluttered isle came back, less than 5 minutes, the whole cart missing. I find one of the employees emptying the cart, and asked where is the backpack? Cause I remember they took a cart before and threw my personal empty handbag on another isle in the clutter. She said there was no backpack in here- Im like what they maybe moved it again. I asked the cash register she said, oh there was a homeless man walking out with the backpack. Im like thinking to myself you just let him walk out??? Mind you the place was not crowded cause it was nearing closing time. I wasn't even there that long as I was rushing before it closed. I went out trying to drive to see if I found anyone she said they went right that direction out the building. Riding around didn't see anyone. Nobody didn't see anything. I called the police and asked the employee to check the security footage. They were reluctant to check the cameras and said come back in the morning the manager would help you roll the cameras back. As I was making a police report the cash register said as description, "It was a man with a green shirt and black pants and he just comes in and steals stuff." Then practically rushed me out at closing time shrugging the whole incident off. In the morning they continued to say pessimistic things like oh the footage won't do anything. They continued to refuse to show or even watch any footage as there was a huge tv with a camera at the entrance door. They also said the cops won't come till 2pm it was then 9am. As called the cops to come back and they never showed. A police report was filed but homeless people were still up there. Nobody did anything to really help- as a student who payed out of pocket for college this was devastating as my personal laptop (around $300), lab coat, and charger for my electric bike were stolen... I hope this review may help other students who take the Kroger school bus up here from the University of Memphis. Keep everything on you at all times!!! As I was waiting for the police I noticed a lot of kids with their parents here and the times I do come I sometimes see kids running by themselves, and I also noticed it was a man in a truck watching everyone almost the whole time I was waiting for the police 1 hr. Please watch out cause this place is far from safe...
