The store is much cleaner and organized than it used to be , the staff is always friendly but overwhelmed. So tired of the fact that they usually have only one checker and lines 14 or more customers long. Workers are suffering from extreme hot temperatures and have complained to the management/owner to no avail! Temps in the store are unbearably hot, I left dizzy and dehydrated after shopping today. I'm worried for all the folks with young kids and seniors who shop there, so I started a GoFundMe to help compensate them for having to work in such conditions for several years in a row. I best experience at the tree thanks to Kate the new manager. I exchange a and to pick up a balloon. She was on top of it before the cashier had to call for a manager. She was so helpful and so very nice and went out of her way with a smile. She really turned what was a not so great a day into a very pleasant experience. I did not expect it. I've bought various and sundry items here at least 40 times over the past 6 years. It's always an adventure to see what kind'a cheap stuff is on the shelves. I usually buy cleaning supplies, greeting cards, batteries. I used to love all the big bags of Brim's cheese doodles, fried pork skins, potato chips but my wife now forbids to eat those because of the MSG and cottonseed oil ingredients. Sigh... Lots of 1 star reviews from the Yelp community. Mostly complaints about employees. Understandable if a bit harsh. Yes, the checkout cashiers lines are always long and slow. It's a banner day when more than one cashier is open. Yes, I've met many unfriendly cashiers. It's usually a month or more between my visits here. I've never seen the same employees from month to month. They come and go quickly. I read in the newspaper a while back that Dollar Tree pay scale is about the lowest in the retail industry. Like several dollars per hour less than Safeway. So you know guys, just go in for whatever, pay the $1 per item, tolerate the cashier if they are annoying and then get the hell out. read more

They dont have enough employees. They open 1 register with a line of crowded stressed customers waiting to pay. The line extends to the back of the store. My back is bad and I cant stand in line for an hour. Dont give this store your business. The customer service is unacceptable. Employees are friendly and attentive, just overworked and overwhelmed. I come here often and always leave with things I never expected I 'needed"! Excellent place to get items for centerpieces, for little holiday give-aways, for garden items, greeting cards of all sorts. Yes, now most items are $1.25 but that's ok. One downside is that you never know if they will have the same items they had last time you were there - so if you see something you might like (especially seasonal items), grab them while you can. Also excellent for small packages of snacks and candy. At the holidays, I leave out a basket of snacks for our various delivery people, and this is where I come to stock up. I go here a lot for $1.25 stuff. I like the $ 0.50 greeting cards & the huge loads of holiday stuff I can find, not to mention the plethora of other stuff I get there. Yes, you might be in a line with more than 3 people, yes the staff is under paid & it shows sometimes, but after that line you are out of there with a ton of stuff & it didnt break the bank. 07/29/2020 at approximately 3:30pm PT (sadly I didn't catch any names). Many issues here. Probably the worst is blatantly lying to my mother in her face. To explain: I understand that we're still in a pandemic, truly, I do. However, when there is absolutely NO SIGN UP ANYWHERE stating that products are still limited to x-amount per person then there shouldn't be an issue when I attempt to purchase them. I am a Covid-19 bride and my plan is to include customized mini hand sanitizers in our now already extremely modified (in more ways to count) wedding. I was happy to see no signs limiting my purchase of about 35 mini hand sanitizers. Out of everything that I have been cheated out of for my wedding, I felt relieved that this one little thing could go right. Nope. Someone "keeps ripping our sign down". So you are limited to 4. Look, if someone "keeps ripping down your sign", shouldn't you keep making sure that there's one up throughout the day then? And if this is all actually true (about the limit on product purchase) then I'm sorry but there was absolutely no sign up saying it when I was in that store. So, shouldn't you honor this current purchase request in that case and then (again) fix this "issue you keep having"? My hand cart of the rest of my mini hand sanitizers was promptly taken to the back and hidden (not restocked). So, I vented my frustration to my roommate and to my mother. Within about 5-10 minutes they both decided (on their own mind you) to go purchase 4 mini hand sanitizers each themselves. My roommate was told that the limit on mini hand sanitizers was 3. And my mother was handed 1 mini hand sanitizer and told that that was their last bottle. Again, they arrived to this store 5-10 minutes after I had left, so unless they immediately sold 4 per customer (or even 3 now I guess) since that time how in the world are they suddenly "out"? Especially since the shelf was never restocked. I'm disgusted with this experience. Terrible customer service, and even worse moral compass from the employee and hidden manager involved. read more

For the one on Yulupa : I can't believe it. I got a small box of 6 chocolates for Valentines day here for my husband amongst other items. I know it can't be that good for $1.25. It was just a thought with my real gift. BUT, the chocolates were gray and melted. They were old and rotten. I felt so bad. That's disgusting. When in and bought 3 items and paid with a 50 dollar bill, the black lady working at the register gave me back a dollar lol she thought she was slick I can tell she was trying to steal the rest of what was owed to me! In the end, she gave me back 42 dollars, still owed me 5 dollars cause I only bought 3 items and paid with a 50! I absolutely love this Dollar Tree. It's honestly the best one by far. It's clean, well-stocked and in a good area of town. But what I genuinely enjoy about this one is the staff. They are so friendly and hardworking. All of them are great but Nicole truly stands-out! She's outgoing and sweet and is SO fast at checking out. One of the worst experiences ever. The store manager tried to physically stop me from entering the store to shop because early hours are reserved for seniors but early hours as stated on their own website are reserved for at risk people including seniors and pregnant woman! which I am!! then I had to endure a lashing from the minion that answered the phone when I called to inform them of the corporate opinion and was denied the store manager. This store is usually, but not always, clean. The selection is certainly diverse and interesting, if not always good. The prices are hit and miss--don't assume that it's a good value just because the price is only one dollar! The clientele tends to be a little trashy here, similar to Wal-Mart. read more

Probably one of the cleanest dollar tree stores ive seen. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Another stupid review about a cheap-o store... I know, how boring is that? But, but... I LIKED it! This was a mega -dollar store in size & quanity [ quality, i'm not sure] over our local one in Ukiah. I have to say, the Xmas set up as you walk in grabs you & shakes the nickels out of your pockets... found too many little things for grandson to put on tree... of course non-breakable, non-swallowable... plus deals on tissue paper, with glitter !, sno-globe, a favorite old brand shampoo, Brecks.. I love how they can get these out of production products. I may even drive back to Santa Rosa for more Xmas loot for stockings & such in a few weeks, although I see that there is one in Healdsburg as well. The last thing I grabbed for the trip home was a box of Good & Plenty -- nothing beats pink & white candies with licorice. All in all, a pretty good shopping trip. read more

Terrible customer service from the supervisor Nicole, (middle aged, dark hair, glasses). One checker 18 people in line, waited 15 minutes and she decides to take the cash drawer and then turns to have a personal conversation with 2 other workers, one who is off the clock and one who doesn't know how to use the register. Took 10 more minutes to open up another register. Very rude to her employee and to the customers. She has absolutely no customer service skills. read more

We kindly asked the young man checker to cover his nose with his mask and he said he didn't have to. We asked the manager if he would cover his nose, and she said that "no one has to cover their nose with their masks." We called the health dept for confirmation that all people go into the store indeed have to cover their nose, otherwise they need a doctor's note that they can't wear a mask over their nose. The manager is promoting an illegal behavior because we are mandate to wear masks over her nose and mouths. read more

BF reminded me that they get poor pay and poorer treatment, but he was angry at the way I was spoken to, also. Went next door to the hardware where a young man said, "Good morning! Can I help you with anything?" The contrast made me burst out laughing, and then I had to explain why I was laughing - not at him! The store is a mess!! The shelves are not stocked even though there are boxes stacked all over the store. Boxes blocking aisles, blocking display shelves. Customer service isn't what it used to be. The checker that checked me out asked if I needed a bag, I told her no, that I had my own. Usually go for the reading glasses. They are cheap but hey, they're only $1. Went yesterday & bought 8 pairs between me & DH. They seem to be much better quality. We live in Forestville but always go to this one because it is big, well stocked and managed. One star off for some uncharacteristic sloppiness. Gal at the register was very sweet and efficient.
