I was looking through the clearance racks in the back and was greeted by Deanne (sp?). She is an absolute gem! In no time at all she had me in a dressing room (first time in probably 12+yrs) and was picking out clothes and helping me. She made me feel like a Queen and stayed within my budget. Athena has become "the big city" in recent years... used to be just a whistle stop on the main highway. The locals rely on this store for basic survival provisions, especially when Winter hits. If you're looking for a townie chances are they will show up here before long. I like to patronize local businesses and always stop in here for a snack or something at least. The folks there are friendly and Athena is a really nice, friendly town. When I used to come here in the early 1980's the local cop used to eyeball me pretty closely and follow me around in his cop car until I left town. I guess they don't get many visitors showing up on Harleys. He must have retired or lost interest in me lately cuz I haven't seen him in recent years.
