If you have seen one you've seen them all. Great variety of items and mediocre customer service

We stopped by here after getting gas to pick up some road trip snacks and drinks. The parking lot…read morewas packed and it was only mid morning on a weekday. We didn't pick up much (drinks and panda biscuits) so we were in an out fairly quickly. The Costco experience here is like every other Costco that is packed--watch where you're going to avoid getting run over by both carts and cars.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with repeated customer service experiences at…read moreCostco locations as both a Costco member and an Instacart shopper. As a member, I have already found customer service to be inconsistent, with only a few employees standing out as genuinely helpful and professional. However, the treatment I receive when shopping as an Instacart worker has been noticeably and consistently worse. There is a clear and immediate shift in how I am treated the moment I state that I am shopping on behalf of Instacart. On multiple occasions, I have been ignored by employees responsible for boxing items after checkout. Specifically, I have experienced situations where staff members, after learning I was with Instacart, skipped assisting me and instead moved directly to the next customer to offer boxes and help with packing. This has happened repeatedly--approximately five times--not as isolated incidents. This is particularly troubling because the orders I am shopping for are for Costco members. Even if there is bias toward Instacart workers, the end result is still poor service being delivered to your own members. In addition, I am also a paying Costco member myself, which makes this pattern of treatment even more disappointing. During my most recent visit, I preemptively grabbed my own box and asked the bagger to pack the order, to avoid being skipped for a 6th time. The items were packed in such a careless and unprofessional manner: hot rotisserie chicken was placed with cold items (milk, cheese), shampoo thrown on top of hot food, and the order was disorganized to the point that I had to repack it myself to maintain basic food safety and order integrity. The interaction felt dismissive and intentionally indifferent. When I attempted to remain polite and wished the employee a nice day, I was completely ignored as they moved on to the next customer. This pattern of behavior feels discriminatory, unprofessional, and inconsistent with the standards Costco claims to uphold. It has left a lasting negative impression, caused me to stop accepting Costco orders through Instacart, and has genuinely made me reconsider my Costco membership. If I am experiencing this consistently, I am confident other Costco members who also work as Instacart shoppers are experiencing the same treatment. I believe this is a serious customer service and professionalism issue that warrants internal review, staff retraining, and accountability. I wanted to keep this private more private but as they do not offer an email customer service number and I don't feel a phone call will do much, I am submitting this complaint in hopes that Costco will address this matter seriously and take steps to ensure respectful, consistent, and professional treatment of all members and customers regardless of whether they are shopping for themselves or on behalf of another member.

As a housewife who does all the grocery shopping and a former child who grew up watching The Price…read moreis Right, I have a good grasp on what items cost. I visited this location as someone who doesn't live in the area and was shocked to see that the prices are way higher than regular Costco and are equal to or sometimes even a dollar or two more than just buying the exact product at Walmart or Fred Meyer. For the price of 1 loaf of Franz gluten-free bread, $7.79 for less than a dollar more I could go to Costco and get 2 loaves of Canyon Bakehouse gluten-free bread. 14 oz Tajin is $7.99. I can buy the exact same size from Walmart for $6.98. Here, 19 oz Mae Ploy canned coconut cream is $3.49 a can. Walmart online sells it individually and as a 6 pack for $2.58 per can. $3.59 for American Beauty 8 oz manicotti shells here. It's $3.49 at Fred Meyer in Medford. 16 ounces of jumbo Campfire marshmallows here are $3.39 whereas 16 oz Kraft Jet Puffed marshmallows are $2.99 at Fred Meyer in Medford. $8.69 for 24 Flav-R-Pac frozen corn cobettes or $2 for 6 Great Value frozen corn cobettes at Walmart. $14.19 for 2.125 lbs dried hash brown shreds here. Same size at Costco is $8.99. Costco sells in-store and ships #10 sized canned products so I'm confused why people are shopping here when the prices aren't wholesale, they're often slightly higher than retail at the local Fred Meyer and Walmart. There aren't many specialty products here for varied diets or cuisines, so if you're needing gluten-free or something more diverse than soy sauce or tortillas, you're going to need to order from elsewhere. I ended up buying a box of True Lemon (they didn't have the True Lime I came for.) Visited October 2024.
