As for Fred Meyer in GP, I've been very happy to shop here. Most of the employees are friendly most of the time. It's clean, well lit, has a decent variety and the prices are comparable to some of the other stores in GP. I also like that there's a gas station at this location and I get a little discount at the pump after shopping. If you want to save a little more, there are coupons available if you create an account on their Website. Generally speaking, this store can provide a good shopping experience if you have a good attitude and don't let the small stuff get under you skin. Several products are out of date, the most egregious I found was 18 month old past it's expiration peanut butter. Yep, ripoff Rays is keeping it's reputation intact. Most outstanding are some of the cashiers.
