Location & Outside Appearance From the outside this Dollar Tree doesn't look like much -- the building looks a little run down. My mom and sister don't like the parking lot and say it feels "ghetto," but honestly, I think it's fine. Stock & Organization This is hands down one of the most stocked Dollar Trees I've been to. Shelves were full, super organized, and I even saw an employee actively restocking while I shopped. It really felt like a "diamond in the rough." ‍ Staff & Service There was only one cashier, plus another worker on the floor. The cashier was polite and efficient, though not super chatty. She did her job well, just more "straight to the point." Extra Features I liked that they had price-check machines available, which makes shopping a lot easier. Overall Impression One of the best Dollar Trees I've been to in terms of stocking and organization, even if the outside doesn't look appealing. I've seen prettier stores that were way emptier, so I'll take this one over those any day. read more

This dollar tree is in a more deprived neighborhood. I worry that they may be exploiting local patrons. I purchased a stool that should have been $3-$5, they charged me $10 and when I returned 5 minutes after I left, for a refund, I was totally dismissed and shoo shooed, and was told they only accept exchanges. I finally showed them what the price below stated, and they reluctantly refunded me. Imagine how someone who didn't advocate for themselves would have been treated? I do not recommend shopping at this business and I feel that they should be looked into further for this pricing as well as their terrible customer service. Let me start off by saying how dirty the area. That doesn't mean the parking lot has to be too. JUST SAYING. One of their employees (an older lady) was not so friendly. If I could give this place a -1 I most definitely would. I love Dollar Tree, it's here where you can find cool decorations and chotskies at great prices. I've been lucky enough to find things at these stores that are not at their competitor, 99cent Only and typically love shopping at these stores. However, every single time I have been to this location it is a disaster. Looks like a tornado hit it's isles and there isn't a soul to pick up the mess. I've even asked one of the managers what the deal was and she said "not enough hours". Yet, they have signs posted and have for some time regarding hiring of stockers and cashiers. Not sure what that's about. Heck I even referred someone to apply at this place and I guess they just don't want help bad enough to call them back. So someone else will be lucky enough to have their help, but that's besides the point. Dollar Tree District Manager or anyone who cares to listen with this store, while this store is in more of an industrial area and services nearly 75% Hispanics, this does not mean we don't want a store that is cared for. It's pretty sad when I go to another one of your stores a few miles away and it's a complete 180. Clean, polite people and cashiers actually at the registers. You can stand at the registers at this store and literally wait. Heck might as well walk right out if they don't care! Get employees that want to be there. People who need jobs and are eager to help this store and its community be uplifted. This is a VERY sad store. You've lost my business today. Enough excuses about why it's a mess, hire people and fix it! Not a lot to offer in the neighborhood, but what is there can at least be decent. I've worked retail for the past 10 years and just entering in the parking lot to this store was depressing. The parking lot is filthy. There is trash every where. As I walked to the entrance, there was a trash can that looked like it's been collecting trash for a year. Trash was all over the floor and it smelled like complete s***. I entered the store with Hope's but I was super saddened to find out that the interior was just as bad as the exterior. Every aisle was littered with product. The shelves were completely disorganized as if a tornado hit the store and nobody bothered to organize anything. A customer walked in without a mask and the woman who greeted this person didn't bother to tell them anything. I bought a roll of paper towels. Before that, I waited for five minutes till someone realized we wanted to check out. Stay away at all costs. Take a short drive and head to the 99 cents store on Whittier and Lorena. They have their ish together unlike this hellhole of a store. read more

I went into store at 2850 Olympic BLVD around 4:10-4:15 pm in Boyle Heights to grab a couple items. I looked up, and the balloons got my attention as soon as I reached my arm up, I heard, Sir Sir Sir, repeatedly, "I said yes!" You cannot buy a single ballon, you need to buy the whole bouquet of balloons. I told her, there is no sign that says you need to by the whole bouquet of balloons. I felt humiliated on how she told me. The cashier's age was mid 50-60 pretty wrinkled dark skin Hispanic. She laughed at my face. So, I told the younger cashier that there was no sign to buy the bouquet, she said I know. The older lady was still laughing at me as I walked out. My last words were keep on laughing! She said oh well. "To buy the whole 15 balloons bouquet it would not be a Dollar Tree it would be the Full Price Tree!" There is a simple quote: " Do not humiliate me, educate me." read more

Been going to dollar tree quite often these days for work. This place seems bigger and cleaner than one near where I live. BUT: I'm starting to see a pattern. Maybe they need better product control or warehouse/store fumigation/pest control. Maybe it's inevitable being that it's LA? No...can't use that as an excuse..I keep noticing rodent bite marks on packaging of pantry goods/snacks/pet treats/etc. Ugh. Hate them pests. Please do better. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. The store is a pigs nest. No, maybe pigs nest are cleaner. It's not only messy, it's disgustingly dirty! The floors are disgusting. The staff however was very polite. No complains with customer service. The merchandise is ALL over the place. The over all appearance of the store is gross. This shows how much the upper management staff doesn't care about the integrity of its store. I hate to say it but it also says a lot about the customers because that mess did not make itself. The parking lot is full of trash and at night, it's very dark. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Earlier this morning I had a horrible experience at this location. From the beginning one of the employees named Valerie or Valeria looked at my brother and I very mean. I thought she was a normal customer because she had no uniform or no badge name. Later on I found out she worked there. I proceeded to do my shopping and I found this lady again in the area near floral decor. She was grabbing a bunch of flowers and placing them in a cart. The car she was using was literally in the middle and I had no way to pass. She saw me approaching and she looked at me mean again and moved out of the way but left the cart there. She saw that I was trying to pass and I was forced to move her cart so that I could go through. She saw me move it and didn't even apologize or even try to move it herself. She just moved aside. I continued to ignore her because I still wasn't aware that she was an employee. I just assumed she was a customer having a bad day. I continued doing my shopping. My brother and I were talking about a plushy he liked but he wasn't convinced to get it. I was trying to convince him to get it because he really liked it. But as we walked through another aisle Valeria or Valerie walked with two carts and saw me going through there. She dramatically grabbed two carts and was so bothered she saw me going her way that she pulled the carts so hard she slammed some stuff with the carts as she passed through us. I still tried to ignore her. But then I heard someone tell my brother aggressively "hey give me that". It was the store Manager Tony. She had seen my brother put the plushy on one of the aisle shelves. My brother proceeded to listen and she pulled it and shakes her head angrily as if he had committed a crime. I proceeded to ask her why she was talking the way she was and why she was being so aggressive with him. I told her he was a 16 year old minor and that she shouldn't be talking to him like that. She said she was not telling him anything out of place. But I told her she had no right to scream at him like if he was doing something wrong. She has no right to talk to him like if she's his mom. Then the other employee Valerie rushed up as if she was trying to come at me. But Tony the manager told her something. Mind you, I was not even near both of them. I was only talking to Tony. I was just standing my ground and asking her why she was talking to my brother like that. Tony then walked away and came back and looked at me very aggressively. I then asked her what was her problem and why she was looking at me the way she was. She walked away and left with her work best friend Valeria and started laughing uncontrollably. I started asking some other employees about the manager and that's how I found out that Tony is the manager. They also mentioned that she's always treating people the way she wants and nothing is ever done. As for Valerie, she was also rude and she didn't even have her uniform on. I don't understand how they can work in customer service and have such disgusting attitudes. They are sick and miserable. I hope they work on progressing in life if they're not happy working there. Horrible customer service by the short fat lady (nayeli might be her name) she thinks she is the manager and can do what she wants. I've seen her open the store at almost 9:30 before because of how late she is and then didn't apologize to anyone that had been waiting since 9an. HOLD ON THOUGH... that wasnt even the issue this time, but im bringing it up because it's about the same person! She is unprofessional and believes she is some kind of manager for some odd reason, shes just an associate. shes nobody. This lady unprofessionally while sitting on her ASS and on her CELLPHONE told me and my boyfriend that we couldnt keep our belongings by the register(REMEBER MOST STORES ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE OUTSIDE ITEMS BY THE REGISTER) THIS LADY did not, she insisted that we cash out at that moment and leave the store with our belongings. This dollar tree is very low rated and because of that I didn't want to give it a chance so I would go further to a better rated dollar tree. I got a better costumer service here than I did at the other location. This dollar tree was actually pretty clean and organized. I was there today. First of all it was messy not having everything i need. I got in a big line with about 10 people in front of me when i got near the cashier i saw the fridge for the cold sodas. It never fails EVERYTIME i buy something "fragile" they drop it or throw it and not even apologize or react it's like it's not their problem. This Dollar Tree store has been open for about a month. It has a surprisingly spacious parking lot. The store is very clean and organized. Although, it doesn't seem to have very many employees. They have most products that you would find in a dollar store. Some of my favorite products; like Belly Flops, are found in abundance. I was even able to find a dollar steak. I go here because it's so close to me but it's always a mess and there is always a long line. Don't get me started on parking I think people from other places park there. It always seems like they are short staffed. There is only 1 check out open I don't know why because when I go at any day any time it's always busy. They also need to do something with the old balloons on the ceiling they have been there forever and it looks scary. Also if you want to buy helium balloons beware you must go and order them with plenty time because even if the my say 1 hour ahead trust me they will not be ready. I tried to approach the manager since she was just standing on her phone, and wanted to see if she can blow up my balloons while I wait in line so I don't hold up the line however TONY the manager felt the need to scream at me as if I were her kid.
