I've been coming here for years upon years. This has been my local Dollar Tree. I walk by it all the time. And I don't frequently do non-food reviews, but this needs to be done. I've always loved and appreciated Dollar Tree and the value of the products it offers. At one time, this location was really good, but this Dollar Tree is steadily declining. It's kind of sad.
First and foremost is the fact that this particular location is CONSISTENTLY poorly stocked. I have been looking for shower curtain liners for something like a month now, and the shelves have consistently been empty. But, that is crazy because there are so often trucks at the back of the store doing delivery. WHAT exactly are they delivering? Take a look at the pictures and see the very empty shelves. This is an EVERYDAY thing. This also happens with the hand soap for some reason. I wouldn't even mention this issue if it was not consistent, but it's been upwards of 10 times in 30 days that this is the case.
That, to me, doesn't make sense because the other Dollar Tree locations (and there are a handful in a 5 mile radius alone) are ALWAYS better stocked! (So, I know they cannot use the holidays as an excuse because again, every other one nearby has been really well-stocked.) I went to the one near Giant in Fairless Hills recently and I got 4 shower curtain liners to "stock up" for when I needed new ones, because I know that this Dollar Tree will never have them, even though it's the closest one to my house. I went to the one near Walmart in Levittown as well (all in the same day one when I was looking for a seasonal item that was not being provided anymore) and even they were better stocked throughout the store.
That definitely doesn't compute. There is not a reason in the world that they should be poorly stocked when almost every item they are low on is readily available at every other surrounding Dollar Tree. They should have measures in place to determine the amount of inventory they require for a certain time period. Well, next is the fact that the value is going down significantly for many useful, everyday household items. Take a look at my photos. The air fresheners were previously 8 ounces. I noticed just a couple of these 8 ounce ones left at this store, but one item they were fully stocked up on was the smaller 6 ounce size of air fresheners.
I saw this again with the maxi pads... the daytime pads were once 16 in a pack (just a few weeks ago). I decided to look today, and they were almost out of stock. But, they had ones that were 9 in a pack. Huh? I just don't get it. This second point might be a universal Dollar Tree thing. But at LEAST stock up on your items so we can get a few of the things that remain of good value when we are in here.
Also, it is the only Dollar Tree without a decent fridge with some regular food items that the others might have like cheese, milk, Hershey's milkshakes, frozen waffles, frozen burritos, frozen vegetables, etc. They have a tiny fridge with beverages and multiple aisles labeled "Snack Zone" with loads of junk, but couldn't dedicate some of that space to the same exact refridgerator/freezer space that other Dollar Trees have.
I'm just gonna throw out as well that there are lots of employees in the store that most of the time are doing nothing if they are not on cashier duty. Sometimes they are standing around, even when the lines are insane, leaving just one or two people to do the checking out. I've given you a few good reasons to not waste your time coming here... Do yourself a favor and go to any other Dollar Tree in the area. I pass by frequently, so I'll be sure to update with new pics over time as I see whether these issues get better or worse. read more
