If you like comics, you should visit your nearest Ollie's at least once. They carry a large…read moreselection of trade paperbacks from Marvel, DC, and smaller publishers. You'll likely find something new to try, or something that fills in a hole in your collection. I save an average of 80% off list price. The comics in this location are on three different shelves, so make sure you don't miss any of them. It's not a bad idea to look around the whole books area. I found stacks of comics placed by staff who likely didn't know where they actually belonged. The comics here are. Not. Organized. At. All. So it takes about an hour to look through all of them. It's worth the effort since that's the way I've found hidden gems. I'm not ashamed to say that I bring a pair of knee pads with me when I go to any Ollie's location. I can't squat long enough to search through the lowest shelves, especially when they're so disorganized. A properly organized Ollie's only takes about ten minutes to go through. But that's up to the book manager's discretion. It's a shame really, since the rest of the books area is so perfectly organized. Gotta dock a star for this location. The Orange City Ollie's knows how to do it right! PROTIP: Join Ollie's Army. Occasionally you'll get a coupon for 15% off your purchase. It helps me save a lot on my comics hauls.

Eh, this is one of the less interesting Ollie's locations I've been in. We went in looking for a…read morespecific item, but they were sold out. This is to be expected - and I don't see much reason to return. Overall, they had a smaller selection than other Ollie's, and it was more disorganized and borderline messy than we expected. The stuff just wasn't impressive - in quality, brand, or even pricing. It was pretty busy, too - and there was 1 cashier and a line of 10 customers waiting. I'm not sure I would've waited the half hour to get the item we wanted even if it was there. Lesson learned.

I am not really going to leave a review, but just to mark its passing as the chain closes…read morepermanently soon. I went one last time for the final sale. We bought some items at half price and beyond. Cans of tomatoes for 28 cents? You don't see that very often. I chatted with two young clerks, who were friendly and seemed positive. I suppose there are still a plethora of service jobs waiting out there for them. Perhaps they already have something lined up? Goodbye Big Lots, gone the way of Zayre's, Mammoth Mart, Woolworths and so many more.

I enjoyed my visit as well as the selection of merchandise at this particular Big Lots. What I…read moredidn't enjoy was my post visit experience. One of the items I purchased was an impromptu item at the register: Sheila's lemon brownie brittle. The ONLY reason I purchased this item was because it was marked down to $.56 and I had never seen the lemon flavor. In addition to living for a great deal, I love me some lemon flavored desserts! Once I was back at my mother's home that evening, I went through my receipts and noticed I was charged full price $3 for my brownie brittle. I immediately called the store in an effort to receive a refund for the difference. My mom lives a decent distance away from the store and I couldn't have returned prior to closing. Moreover, I was returning home to South Florida the following morning so an in person interaction wasn't feasible. The staff member who took my call wasn't the most helpful and stated the manager was busy. She informed me that my local Big Lots could provide me with a refund for the difference. This was good enough for me. Fast forward to me attempting to visit my local Big Lots.... it closed. Needless to say, I called the store again to report my dilemma and request a refund. Again I received the runaround and after conveying my discontent, I had the opportunity to speak with a manager. Allegedly, they don't have the capability to issue a refund over the phone. I asked if I could return on my next trip to receive a refund or store credit. He said no problem, but changed his tune when I stated it may be 2-3 months. At this point, I was done. Here's the deal, I was overcharged at the WPB location on one occasion, my mom had an item that rang up far more than the sticker price on this same visit and now I'm being stuck to shell out $3 I didn't intend to spend. I think NOT! I realize in the scheme of things, it's $3. But, I'm a student of FPU and every dollar counts in my budget. So my Dave Ramsey following self gave up trying to remedy with the store and called BOA. It's all about the principle! Needless to say, I received my money back and I won't be visiting Big Lots on my next visit. Their customer service and inconsistent pricing is for the birds! On a positive note, I do love the wall art I purchased and the lemon brownie brittle was tasty... even tastier after I received my $2.44 credit from the bank. ;)
