I recently hit a piece of wire while mowing grass with my new mower. The wire had two sharp ends,…read moreone went into the side wall and the other into the tread. Sidewall hole in tire un repairable so I had to buy a new tire. I could not get the new tire onto the rim and decided it would be best if a tire center put the tire on the rim. I decided to go to our local Walmart tire center. The gentleman said he could put the rim on no problem. An hour and a half later the Shift Manager Geoff brought out my mounted tire and told me the tire was damaged, there was a Bible in the side wall. He neglected to mention the damaged rim that was clearly leaking because there was air loudly escaping from the rim bead and the soap spray they sprayed on it was still making bubbles. Geoff stated it would cost $108 to get a new tire. I was promised a new tire and rim would be in Tuesday 5/12/26 and Geoff would call when the tire came in. On Wednesday 5/13/26 I inquired with Geoff who told me Friday because the company he ordered the tire from only sent a tire not a remounted tire on a rim. Friday came and went, when I went to Walmart Tire Center I was told Geoff was on vacation. I have spoken to the Department Manager Adolphis who stated he was not aware of this issue and he could not do anything until he spoke with Geoff when he returned from vacation. This was Saturday 5/23/26. I was promised a return telephone call when Geoff returned to work on 5/24/26. It is now 5/26/26 and neither Geoff or Adolphis has called. No one answers the phone in the service center, when I get the operator I get disconnected. I have to go in person to speak with them. It looks like I am eating the cost of replacing a new tire and rim a second time. If they couldn't put the rim on due to lack of ability or due to policy they should have said they couldn't do it instead of damaging the tire and the rim making both items unusable.

Today I finally got a refund and walked out angry over the poor customer service policies and/or personnel. I will not return. Maybe it's the way they handle purchases in building supplies...The problem is they DON'T handle purchases at the building supply counter. That's definitely not customer friendly. Maybe it's the dead-eyed apathy of some of the staff. Maybe it's just that I am too old to walk back and forth across that huge store three or four times just to complete a purchase and arrange a delivery while staff stand around refusing to help (even after I specifically asked for help.) I guess they don't realize who ultimately makes it possible for them to have a job...or to keep a store going. It's all about good customer service for good customers, baby...and you blew it!
