Loved the selection of items and the prices when they were lower than competitors. It's why I drove all the way from Columbus to this store and bought hundreds, more likely thousands, of dollars worth of their merchandise in past years. Today I finally got a refund and walked out angry over the poor customer service policies and/or personnel. I will not return. Maybe it's the way they handle purchases in building supplies...The problem is they DON'T handle purchases at the building supply counter. That's definitely not customer friendly. Maybe it's the dead-eyed apathy of some of the staff. Maybe it's just that I am too old to walk back and forth across that huge store three or four times just to complete a purchase and arrange a delivery while staff stand around refusing to help (even after I specifically asked for help.) I guess they don't realize who ultimately makes it possible for them to have a job...or to keep a store going. Menards in Lancaster Ohio needs to instruct their store and or floor management that the customer are what pays their bill. I pirchased some wood products in Athens Ohio all tthat this store had in stock. I then went to the store in Lancaster Ohio and picked up some more of the same product. I asked the manager if he would honor the sale price that I paid in Athens, his answer to me was no, the sale ended Wednesday. I told him twice that they were on sale till the 18th of February, which he ignored my statement and when the cashier rang them up they were still priced at the discount price, poor customer service from the manager, Sorry menards you just lost a good customer today 021524. read more

I generally shop here for hardware needs, but I'll be finding another place now. I've seen an employee getting harassed by other customers several times, and since it happened more than once, I can only assume that it was never addressed by management, which is pathetic. Purchased charcoal paver bricks. Signage reads .62 cents each. At check out was charged .58 cents each. During week of 11 percent a week later was charged .62 cents each. The following week they were on sale 3 for a dollar. Several of those bricks have since crumbled and had to be replaced. I also purchased a dog toy at $4.95. During the 11 percent off sale the same toy was priced at $7.95. I mentioned the price difference to an employee and was told that happens a lot. I don't go there very often as I think the 11percent off is a joke that you have to mail in your receipt, wait a month for the check that you must cash only at Menards. Also I get 10 percent instant veterans discount at Lowe's and Home Depot. read more

A great place to pick up anything you could need for your home improvement needs. Well organized and well stocked with tons of selection to choose from. A great staff at this store who has always went way out of their way to help you find whatever you need. I actually find great deals on hunting supplies and have gotten some great deals on items when the hunting season ends. I recently bought a "pop up blind" to bow hunt from and the quality was really good and the price was significantly less than anywhere else I could find. This store sold me a used shower door as new. I bought a shows door and was held hostage to horrible customer service for 2 hours! Finally, they had to sell a second option bc they couldn't find my door. I get it home 1.5 hours away and later found the door trim was hacked up and missing parts. So I have to make an unplanned trip 3 counties away to exchange it. So glad they apologized. That just makes it so much better. read more

Usually really like Menards. My family goes at least once a week, small and very large purchases. I won't be going back until they lose the mandatory mask policy. I know a lot of other people that feel the same. If someone feels the need to wear one of coarse that's their choice. I won't be forced to do anything. Went into buy trim, and knew they had an air hose for 8.99. I picked it up and asked the associate. She looked and as she did, she quickly moved a $22 price tag in front of it. I asked her what she just did, and she said nothing and the hose was $22. I asked for a manager, and mike came over. He replied it was $22. I left went to Lowes. read more

I am giving this specific store only 3 stars because of the staff. I've recently made 3 larger purchases there. The first purchase had to be ordered. There were only two items in this order I needed both at the same time yet they arrived separately. The last two times I was in the store, items needed to be picked up outside where are you pick up bulk items. The first time I waited around for ever for staff to come and help me load my product it never occurred I finally went looking for staff saw large group hanging out in a hanger. When I stoped I tried to get help, everyone but one person disappeared. The third and last time I was at the store I was again expecting help to load a large number of heavy block...no one came to help .....eventually I had to do it myself. Each time the staff was notified by radio by the gate guard that I would be coming through I was very patient yet no one came to help read more

Advertising states great prices, if you can find the items. Don't ever try to order anything and find out it doesn't work as promised. They will not only keep the "special order charge" but will charge you a 25% restocking fee. This applies to EVERYTHING you buy and find does not work as promised. Don't bother to contact corporate, they do not have a customer service to talk to. You have to write with copies of receipts with complaint only to get a form letter stating it is policy and there is no recourse. I will stick to Lowe's and get the value for my money and time. My parents went to this store tonight to get a new toilet for the house and so my mom walked up to the cashiers and asked for help in that section and this guy that worked there stood in front of her and got in her face and said what did u say my mom replied once again can me and my husband get help in the toilet section the guy never answered her so she walked away and stood 10 mins and no one came to help them well as they was standing there waiting another worker was walking past them so my mom asked if they could get some help it seemed by asking this question she annoyed the man and with a annoyed attitude he said I'm gonna have to walk all the way over to the front of the store so he left and they stood there for 20 mins and no one showed up to help once again she even asked the guy emptying trash for help .... my dad had enough and they went to Lowe's where they was in and out in 10 mins and got helped as soon as they walked in.... We will never shop at this store again I get it it's night but you still are supposed to be available to help the people that come into your store .... your in customer service that means ur supposed to help everyone .... I should be allowed to give this store 0 stars. I came in on Saturday evening 5pm. Bought and PAID for 3,000$ worth of materials. I did not have the hauling capability and asked if the items could be gathered up and I would be back in the morning. I was assured by the associate Cory that they would do that for me. I have had both Home Depot and Lowe's do this in the past. Sunday morning I arrived and they had nothing gathered together. Not only that...I had purchased 60 of an item and they had 0 in stock. I asked how that could be since 60 should have been taken out of inventory and available to me since I paid for them. They said " well, this is cash and carry, and we sold them since they were here". What the heck? In my book that's stealing. They sold something I had paid for and was mine. Absolutely no regard for my time or energy making 2 round trips from 3 counties away and no offer of restitution. Horrific customer service, they don't care about their customers. I spoke with both the dept manager and the store manager, Aaron and Rich and was offered nothing, not even a "sorry". So they issued me a $1000 refund and I will never go there again. read more
